Introduction: To determine the threshold of umbilical cord blood procalcitonin for early-onset neonatal infection diagnosis.

Method: This prospective study was conducted on 126 neonates in the neonatal care unit of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Vietnam, from June 01, 2023 to August 31, 2024. All neonates showed signs at birth or risk factors for early-onset infection (EOI) and were divided into two groups: EOI group and non-EOI group.

Factors associated with quality of life of chronic spontaneous urticaria patients in a Vietnamese population.

Objective: Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) is a challenging condition that significantly impacts the affected patients. This study aimed to evaluate the quality of life (QoL) among patients with CSU in Vietnam and identify factors associated with QoL.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted at the Vietnam National Dermatology and Venereology Hospital from June 2023 to March 2024.

Comparison of Patient-Specific Plates and Pre-Bent Plates for Preserving Condylar Position in Mandible Reconstruction.

Objectives: To compare the efficacy of patient-specific 3-dimensional (3D)-printed plates (PSP) and pre-bent universal reconstruction plates (PBP) in preserving the 3D position of the mandibular condyle and total operation time during mandibular reconstruction with a fibula-free flap.

Materials And Methods: This retrospective study included 18 patients who underwent mandibular reconstruction using fibular free flaps. Both groups utilized virtual surgical planning (VSP) and 3D-printed surgical guides.

Merged Red and NIR Light Sources for Photobiomodulation Therapy in Diabetic Wound Healing.

Photobiomodulation (PBM) is considered an effective and safe therapeutic modality in supporting the treatment of complications from a global pandemic-diabetes. In this study, PBM therapy is investigated to accelerate wound healing in diabetic mice (DM), under the combined biological effects of red light from a red organic light-emitting diode (ROLED) and near-infrared (NIR) light from an NIR conversion film (NCF) with dispersed CuInS/ZnS quantum dots (QDs). The QD concentration and the NCF structure were optimized to maximize the optical properties and mechanical stability.

Development of reed-based cellulose aerogel: a sustainable solution for crude oil spill clean-up.

Some novel concepts of intuitionistic fuzzy directed graphs with application in selecting a suitable place for opening restaurant.

In this manuscript, we first initiate several types of effective arcs of intuitionistic fuzzy directed graphs, followed by discussions on different types of dominations in intuitionistic fuzzy directed graphs and their application in decision-making. The notion of dominations in fuzzy graphs, fuzzy directed graphs, intuitionistic fuzzy graphs and picture fuzzy graphs have been extensively discussed in the literature. Thus, the work presented in our study is two-fold: on one side, it extends the notion of domination in fuzzy directed graphs, while on the other side, it fills the gap existing in the literature.

Bilateral breast swelling in a pregnant woman with high-grade B-cell lymphoma, potentially Burkitt lymphoma.

Primary breast Burkitt lymphoma is an aggressive subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) and extremely rare. Biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP) is a bioceramic widely used in hard tissue engineering for bone replacement. BCP consists of β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) - a highly soluble and resorbable phase - and hydroxyapatite (HA) - a highly stable phase, creating a balance between solubility and resorption, optimally supporting cell interactions and tissue growth. The β-TCP/HA ratio significantly affects the resorption, solubility, and cellular response, with a higher β-TCP ratio increasing resorption due to its solubility.
