Near-ultraviolet (NUV)-pumped white light-emitting-diodes (WLEDs) often suffer from poor color rendering in the 480-520 nm range, highlighting the need for an efficient cyan phosphor with strong absorption at 370-420 nm. This study presents the successful synthesis of cyan-emitting ZnS/ZnO phosphors using a high-energy planetary ball milling method followed by post-annealing. The fabricated phosphors, with particle sizes ranging from 1 to 3 μm, exhibit strong cyan emission with CIE chromaticity coordinates of (0.

Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is among the top three causes of global cancer mortality. In Vietnam, CRC is the third leading cause of death in women and the fourth cause of cancer mortality in men. A large number of metagenomic studies have reported the relationship between altered composition and function of the gut microbiota with CRC, but this relationship in low- and middle-income countries including Vietnam (with an estimated population of 100.

Introduction: The emergence of colistin resistance threatens the treatment of infections.
Methods: In this study, in vitro development of colistin resistance was investigated using comparative phenotypic and proteomic analysis of ATCC 9027, its 14-day colistin sub-MIC exposed strain (Col-E1), and 10-day antibiotic-free cultured Col-E1 strain (Col-E2). Antibiotic susceptibility, morphology, virulence factors, and proteomic changes were assessed using disc-diffusion, agar-based, spectrophotometry, SEM, and iTRAQ-LC-MS/MS methods.

Two novel complexes, [Cu()Cl] and [Zn()Cl], were synthesized from 1,1'-[(3-fluoro-phen-yl)methyl-ene]bis-[3-(3-fluoro-phen-yl)imidazo[1,5-]pyridine] (), and copper(II) and zinc(II) chloride, respectively. The structures of these complexes were confirmed using ESI-MS, IR and H NMR spectra. The results reveal mononuclear structures in which the central metal atoms are coordinated by two N atoms from the imidazole rings and two Cl ligands.

The autonomous and active Long-Interspersed Element-1 (LINE-1, L1) and the non-autonomous Alu retrotransposon elements, contributing to 30% of the human genome, are the most abundant repeated sequences. With more than 90% of their sequences being methylated in normal cells, these elements undeniably contribute to the global DNA methylation level and constitute a major part of circulating-cell-free DNA (cfDNA). So far, the hypomethylation status of LINE-1 and Alu in cellular and extracellular DNA has long been considered a prevailing hallmark of ageing-related diseases and cancer.

The ribosomal genes (rDNA genes) encode 47S rRNA which accounts for up to 80% of all cellular RNA. At any given time, no more than 50% of rDNA genes are actively transcribed, and the other half is silent by forming heterochromatin structures through DNA methylation. In cancer cells, upregulation of ribosome biogenesis has been recognized as a hallmark feature, thus, the reduced methylation of rDNA promoter has been thought to support conformational changes of chromatin accessibility and the subsequent increase in rDNA transcription.

Animal translocations provide striking examples of the human footprint on biodiversity. Combining continental-wide genomic and DNA-barcoding analyses, we reconstructed the historical biogeography of the Asian black-spined toad (Duttaphrynus melanostictus), a toxic commensal amphibian that currently threatens two biodiversity hotspots through biological invasions (Wallacea and Madagascar). The results emphasize a complex diversification shaped by speciation and mitochondrial introgression that comprises two distinct species.

The hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, a global health concern, can lead to chronic liver disease. The HCV core antigen (HCVcAg), a viral protein essential for replication, offers a cost-effective alternative to HCV RNA testing, particularly in resource-limited settings. This review explores the significance of HCVcAg, a key protein in the hepatitis C virus, examining its structure, function, and role in the viral life cycle.

The proposed protocol features reliable and fast image transmission while periodically transmitting scalar data without interruption by allowing two networks, a LoRa network and a wireless sensor network, with different transmission characteristics to cooperate. It adopts the RT-LoRa protocol for periodic scalar data transmission and uses a WSN-based pipelined transmission method that leverages single-hop message transmission of a LoRa network for image transmission. Thus, it can not only eliminate the control message overhead for time synchronization, slot scheduling, and path establishment for pipelined image transmission in WSNs but also eliminate interferences within WSNs, such as data collisions and data and message collisions, during pipelined image transmission, thereby enabling high reliability and fast transmission.

African Swine Fever (ASF) is a highly contagious viral disease threatening the global pig industry. Currently, only two gene-deleted live attenuated vaccines are approved, exclusively in Vietnam, and their long-term effectiveness and safety are unproven, prompting the need for safer alternatives. This study assessed a cocktail of African Swine Fever Virus (ASFV) antigens delivered via a recombinant Newcastle Disease Virus (rNDV) vector against the genotype II ASFV-SY18.
