Management of anterior and posterior crossbites with lingual appliances and miniscrew-assisted rapid palatal expansion: A case report.

Rationale: Current literature describes only 2 cases combining miniscrew-assisted rapid palatal expansion (MARPE) with lingual appliances. These cases require 2 impressions, 1 before and 1 after palatal expansion, to ensure accurate lingual appliance placement, potentially increasing treatment time and cost. This case report aimed to demonstrate a modified workflow of combining MARPE and lingual appliances in managing an adult patient with anteroposterior and transversal discrepancies, requiring only a single digital impression for both fabrication and positioning.

Management of a severe skeletal Class II hyperdivergent patient with asymmetric missing teeth with lingual appliances and mandibular osteotomy: A case report.

Rationale: Orthognathic surgery cases are inherently challenging to treat with lingual appliances due to the complexities of orthodontic management and difficulties in achieving intermaxillary fixation during surgery. This challenge is further amplified in cases involving asymmetric space closure, such as those with a missing molar on one side and a premolar on the other, a scenario not yet documented in the literature. This case report presents the orthodontic-orthognathic management of an adult patient requiring space closure of asymmetric missing lower teeth.

Lingual bracket transfer accuracy of double vacuum-formed indirect bonding tray using 3D-printed model: an in vivo study.

Introduction: This study aimed to assess the transfer accuracy of a digital indirect bonding method for lingual brackets using double vacuum-formed trays in vivo.

Methods: Twenty-five patients in need of lingual orthodontic treatment were consecutively recruited. Bracket placement was performed on ideal setups, followed by fabricating indirect bonding trays through vacuum-forming on 3-dimensional printed models.

Skeletal Class III Malocclusion with Lateral Open Bite and Facial Asymmetry Treated with Asymmetric Lower Molar Extraction and Lingual Appliance: A Case Report.

A skeletal Class III malocclusion with open bite tendency is considered very difficult to treat orthodontically without surgery. This case report describes the lingual orthodontic treatment of an adult skeletal Class III patient with mandibular deviation to the left side, lateral open bite, unilateral posterior crossbite, zero overbite and negative overjet. The lower incisors were already retroclined to compensate with the skeletal discrepancy.

Management of an adult patient with missing one mandibular incisor, severe overjet, and midline discrepancy with asymmetric extraction, lingual appliance, and skeletal anchorage: A case report.

This case report describes the lingual orthodontic treatment of an adult patient with Angle Class I malocclusion, agenesis of mandibular right central incisor, severe overjet and deep overbite, excessive proclination of maxillary and mandibular incisors, and midline discrepancy. Because of unique presentation, symmetric extraction could not be performed in the lower arch of this 34-year-old patient. She was treated with three premolar extractions and absolute anchorage with temporary anchorage devices for maximum retraction of upper anterior teeth.

Background: After levelling and alignment in skeletal Class III patients with upper anterior crowding, the upper incisors usually have excessive proclination. In these cases, the upper incisors' axial proclination need to be reduced to improve esthetics.
