This work explores one centrosymmetric binuclear Cu(ii)-Salen complex synthesis, characterization, photosensitive Schottky barrier diode (PSBD) function, and DFT spectrum. The crystal growth involves HL and Cu(NO)·3HO in CHOH + ACN (acetonitrile) solvent medium. Herein, structural characterization employs elemental, IR/Raman, NMR, UV-VIS, DRS, SEM-EDX, PXRD, SCXRD, and XPS analyses.

Background: The subfamily Luciolinae Lacordaire, 1857, a group of flashing fireflies, is composed of approximately 400 described species in the world. Though the taxonomy of this group has been fairly well established in Southeast (SE) Asia and the Australopacific Region, there is scope of gathering further information regarding taxonomic knowledge on this group from India. Until now, 32 Luciolinae species from nine genera have been reported from India, which is only about 8% (32 out of 400) of the world Luciolinae fauna.

Riverine ecosystem services to human beings are dynamically evaluated by harmonic relationships; however, over growing human service demands (HSDs) are leading to deteriorate the river health resilience. In this study, an assessment index system of river health involving pressure-state-response (PSR) based on twenty indicators of riparian, channel geomorphic, hydroecological, and social attributes was developed to detect the multifunctional reliability and resilience of river system integrity for HSDs at upper (US), middle (MS), and lower segments (LS) of Kangsabati River using fuzzy logic, analytical hierarchical process (AHP), and entropy weight-based multi-criteria decision matrix (MCDM) methods. Borda integrating MCDM results revealed that overall indicator performance is high health score in US (77), medium score in MS (69), but mostly unhealthy score in LS (34); thus, entropy-MCDM models give highest rank to US, medium rank to MS, and least rank to LS, while AHP and fuzzy MCDM models assigned as high priority rank to MS, medium rank to US, and least rank to LS, respectively.

Lupeol is a medicinally important naturally abundant triterpenoid having a 6-6-6-6-5 fused pentacyclic backbone and one polar secondary "-OH" group at the C3 position of the "A" ring. It was extracted from the dried outer bark of and its self-assembly properties were investigated in different neat organic as well as aquous-organic binary liquid mixtures. The triterpenoid having only one polar "-OH" group and a rigid lipophilic backbone self-assembled in neat organic non-polar liquids like -hexane, -heptane, -octane and polar liquids like DMSO, DMF, DMSO-HO, DMF-HO, and EtOH-HO yielding supramolecular gels formation of nano to micrometre long self-assembled fibrillar networks (SAFINs).

Recent research focused on novel aspects of sulphur and sulphur-containing molecules in fundamental plant processes has highlighted the importance of these compounds. Currently, the focus has shifted to the efficacy of hydrogen sulphide (H S) as signalling compounds that regulate different development and stress mitigation in plants. Accordingly, we used an in silico approach to study the differential expression patterns of H S metabolic genes at different growth/development stages and their tissue-specific expression patterns under a range of abiotic stresses.

To address this challenging issue, a fluorescent probe () has been synthesized from bromo-salicylaldehyde and hydrazine hydrate, and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The probe shows very weak fluorescence itself.

The present study aimed to synthesise bio-molecule functionalized silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using leaf extract from mulberry variety S-1635 ( L.) and to explore its antibacterial efficacy against multidrug resistant (MDR) gut bacteria isolated from natural infection observed from silkworm larvae in rearing conditions. AgNPs formation was established by surface plasmon resonance at 480 nm.

Herein, the electrical transport properties of reduced graphene oxide (rGO), rGO-zinc selenide (rGO-ZnSe) and rGO-zinc telluride (rGO-ZnTe) thin films have been investigated at 87-473 K under both dark and illumination conditions. A comparative study of photosensitivity () and charge carrier mobility (), calculated using a trap-free space charge limited current model, shows the highest values for 54 wt% ZnSe and 50 wt% ZnTe contents (namely samples C1 and C2, respectively).

Stigmasterol, a naturally occurring 6-6-6-5 monohydroxy phytosterol, was extracted from the leaves of Indian medicinal plant , commonly known as Kakoli. In continuation of our studies on the self-assembly properties of naturally occurring terpenoids, herein, we report the first self-assembly properties of this phytosterol in different organic liquids. The molecule self-assembled in organic liquids yielding supramolecular gels in most of the liquids studied the formation of fibers and belt-like architechtures of nano-to micrometer diameter.

Benzo(a)pyrene [B(a)P] is the toxic environmental Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon (PAH), that exerts male reproductive dysfunctions. In this study the molecular mechanism of B(a)P induced Leydig cell steroidogenic dysfunctions and its protective mechanism of action with a natural Aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) antagonist and anti-oxidant, Resveratrol (Res) has been investigated. B(a)P exposure induced ROS mediated steroidogenic imbalance via activation of p38MAPK and repression of testosterone level as well as other steroidogenic enzymes like CYPIIA1, 3β-HSD, 17β-HSD expressions.

Generation of vesicular self-assemblies from natural and synthetic components has been in the frontiers of research in recent years for an improved understanding of the self-assembly process and also because of its prospective and realized applications in the areas of advanced materials, biotechnology and medicine. In the present work, we report the first example of the generation of vesicular self-assemblies during an aerobic coupling reaction. The two precursor 2-naphthol units, having hydrogen bond donor-acceptor groups with appended alkyl chains, yielded binol (2,2'-dihydroxy-1,1'-binaphthyl) derivatives by aerobic coupling that spontaneously self-assembled , yielding vesicular self-assemblies and gels.
