Objective: To determine the effect of atorvastatin on haemostatic parameters as measured by prothrombin time, activated partial thromboplastin time and thromboelastography in apparently healthy dogs administered 2 mg/kg orally once daily for 1 week.
Materials And Methods: Prospective study of 20 apparently healthy client-owned dogs at a small animal specialty hospital. Dogs had a baseline complete blood count, serum chemistry profile, fibrinogen, platelet count, prothrombin time, activated partial thromboplastin time and thromboelastography performed.

Oncological emergencies can occur at any time during the course of a malignancy and need to be recognized promptly to maximize successful outcomes. Emergencies are characterized as chemotherapy-induced, paraneoplastic syndromes, or directly related to the neoplasm. Prompt identification with treatment of these emergencies can prolong survival and improve quality of life, even in the setting of terminal illness.

Background: Ovarian hormones play crucial roles in mammary carcinogenesis. However, whether ovarian ablation by ovariohysterectomy (OHE) improves the prognosis in dogs with mammary carcinomas is unclear.
Objectives: Determine if OHE at the time of mastectomy improves the prognosis in dogs with mammary carcinomas and evaluate if hormonal factors influence the effect of OHE.
