An 8 yr old, male, mixed-breed dog was presented with a 2 mo history of progressive weakness, worsened in the last 2 days before examination. Neurological examination revealed ambulatory tetraparesis, ataxia, and proprioceptive deficits in all four limbs. Menace response was reduced in the right eye and discomfort was detected on neck manipulation.

Background: In humans, vestibular epilepsy (VE) is described as focal seizures with transient signs of vestibular disease. In dogs, 2 cases of vestibular episodes, called vestibular paroxysmia, are reported.
Hypothesis/objectives: The objective of this study was to define the clinical features, phenotypical manifestation, and outcome of suspected VE in dogs.

An 11 yr old female French bulldog was presented for acute onset of seizures and a 2 wk history of disorientation. On physical examination, a nodular mass at the fourth mammary gland level was observed. Neurological evaluation showed obtundation and compulsive behavior.

Three cases of the malformation of the cortical development are described: a mixed breed dog and a Border Collie pup with a focal and diffuse cortical dysplasia, respectively, and a kitten with lissencephaly. All cases presented with intractable epilepsy and were euthanized, due to the cluster of epileptic seizures. The gross examination at necropsy revealed the morphologic alteration of the telencephalic region in two cases.

The literature is lacking data concerning the prognosis in cats suffering from naturally occurring acute onset of thoracolumbar (TL) spinal cord injury that are undergoing rehabilitation therapy. Therefore, we investigated the effect of physical rehabilitation in cats suffering from naturally occurring TL spinal cord injury. The medical records of 36 cats with acute onset of TL spinal cord injury that were selected for rehabilitation treatment were reviewed.
