Background And Objectives: Chronic headaches are a frequent cause of pain and disability. The purpose of this randomized trial was to examine whether transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) applied to the primary motor cortex, reduces pain and increases daily function in individuals suffering from primary chronic headache.
Materials And Methods: A prospective, randomized, controlled trial, where participants and assessors were blinded, investigated the effect of active tDCS vs.

Background: Older men (aged ≥75 years) with high risk, non-metastatic prostate cancer (PCa) are increasingly treated with curative therapy (surgery or radiotherapy). However, it is unclear if curative therapy prolongs life and improves health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in this age group compared to conservative therapy, which has evolved considerably during the last decade.
Study Design: The Scandinavian Prostate Cancer Group (SPCG) 19/Norwegian Get-Randomized Research Group-Prostate (GRand-P) is a randomised, two-armed, controlled, multicentre, phase III trial carried out at study centres in Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Sweden.

Background: Itch as the most common symptom in dermatology has been shown to be related to psychological factors such as stress, anxiety and depression. Moreover, associations were found between perceived stigmatization and itch. However, studies investigating the differences between patients with dermatoses with and without itch regarding perceived stress, stigmatization, anxiety and depression are missing.

Introduction: Radiotherapy is the main treatment modality in cancer. There is sparse knowledge on how patients with cancer experience their radiotherapy trajectory, and which factors might be associated with patients' experiences.
Objectives: The aim of the present study was to explore how adults with cancer receiving radiotherapy evaluate the quality of their care, utilizing a patient-reported experience measure, and how patient- and service-related characteristics are associated with their evaluation.

Background: Evidence of the association between AMplitude Spectral Area (AMSA) of ventricular fibrillation and outcome after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is limited to short-term follow-up. In this study, we assess whether AMSA can stratify the risk of death or poor neurological outcome at 30 days and 1 year after OHCA in patients with an initial shockable rhythm or with an initial non-shockable rhythm converted to a shockable one.
Methods: This is a multicentre retrospective study of prospectively collected data in two European Utstein-based OHCA registries.

Background: Dietary recommendations in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) are inconclusive, and patients may follow restrictive diets with increased risk of malnutrition. The aim of this study was to compare dietary intakes and nutritional status in men and women with newly diagnosed IBD with a general population sample, and to investigate whether intakes were in line with the Nordic Nutrition Recommendations.
Methods: This was a cross-sectional study including adults≥ 40 years with IBD from the Inflammatory Bowel Disease in South-Eastern Norway (IBSEN) III cohort study.

Objectives: This research project investigated how family carers in Norway experienced delivering iCST, their need for supervision and the potential for co-occupation.
Methods: Reflexive thematic analysis was used to understand the experiences of 11 carers using iCST for 8 wk. Three semi-structured interviews were conducted with each participant, including a pre-assessment of caregiver burden and a rating of dementia severity.

Introduction: Hereditary angioedema (HAE) is a potentially life-threatening genetic disorder characterized by recurrent episodes of angioedema. From the onset of symptoms until diagnosis, patients often have several contacts with the healthcare system. It was hypothesized that a "digital fingerprint" of undiagnosed HAE patients could be identified in Danish registries.

Background: clinically silent cardiac sarcoidosis (CS) may be associated with adverse outcomes, hence the rationale for screening patients with extracardiac sarcoidosis. The optimal screening strategy has not been clearly defined.
Methods: patients with extra-cardiac sarcoidosis were prospectively included and underwent screening consisting of symptom history, electrocardiography (ECG), transthoracic echocardiogram, Holter, and signal-averaged ECG (SAECG).

Delays in illness recognition, healthcare seeking, and in the provision of appropriate clinical care are common in resource-limited settings. Our objective was to determine the frequency of delays in the "Three Delays-in-Healthcare", and factors associated with delays, among deceased infants and children in seven countries with high childhood mortality. We conducted a retrospective, descriptive study using data from verbal autopsies and medical records for infants and children aged 1-59 months who died between December 2016 and February 2022 in six sites in sub-Saharan Africa and one in South Asia (Bangladesh) and were enrolled in Child Health and Mortality Prevention Surveillance (CHAMPS).

Background: In Norway, almost 97% of children attend kindergartens. Most of the daily food intake happens during the day in kindergartens, and the quality of food and meals being served is essential to promote healthy food habits. There is variation in the food that kindergartens provide, and kindergartens can ask for additional payment from parents to cover the food.

Objective: Response to antidepressant treatment in major depressive disorder varies substantially between individuals, which lengthens the process of finding effective treatment. The authors sought to determine whether a multimodal machine learning approach could predict early sertraline response in patients with major depressive disorder. They assessed the predictive contribution of MR neuroimaging and clinical assessments at baseline and after 1 week of treatment.

Objective: Although knowledge about the experience of being diagnosed with dementia is limited, with the expected rise in dementia's prevalence in the coming decades, such knowledge is pivotal for the people diagnosed, their families, and healthcare planners. Thus, the aim of our study was to explore the experience of living with cognitive impairment and dementia and the impact of being diagnosed with dementia.
Method: A qualitative design was applied.

Unhealthy aging poses a global challenge with profound healthcare and socioeconomic implications. Slowing down the aging process offers a promising approach to reduce the burden of a number of age-related diseases, such as dementia, and promoting healthy longevity in the old population. In response to the challenge of the aging population and with a view to the future, Norway and the United Kingdom are fostering collaborations, supported by a "Money Follows Cooperation agreement" between the 2 nations.

Tropomyosin receptor kinases (TRK) are attractive targets for cancer therapy. As TRK-inhibitors are approved for all solid cancers with detectable fusions involving the Neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase (NTRK)-genes, there has been an increased interest in optimizing testing regimes. In this project, we wanted to find the prevalence of NTRK fusions in a cohort of various histopathological types of early-stage lung cancer in Norway and to investigate the association between TRK protein expression and specific histopathological types, including their molecular and epidemiological characteristics.

Purpose: Coeliac disease (CD) is a common disorder and affects about 1% of the population worldwide. CD in the Trøndelag Health Study (HUNT) is a population-based cohort study which was established to provide new knowledge about CD that can improve the diagnostics and management, prevent the onset or progression and expand the knowledge about the role of genetics of the disease.
Participants: The cohort is based on the fourth wave of the population-based HUNT study (HUNT4), Norway, performed during 2017-2019, also including linkage to hospital records and the Norwegian Patient Registry (NPR).

Background: Hearing impairment is strongly associated with future dementia. No studies have reported objectively measured hearing impairment in a cohort with a long period of follow-up (>20 years), and few have reported follow-up over 10 years. Hence, there is a need for high quality studies with sufficient follow-up time and data to account for reverse causality and confounding.

Treatment of chronic pain in patients with dementia is challenging because they have reduced ability to report pain and are particularly vulnerable to side effects of analgesics. Different types of music-based therapy have been recommended and are used as an alternative to analgesics, but the evidence is lacking. Therefore, we performed a cluster-randomized controlled study (RCT) to reduce pain intensity using music-based caregiving (MBC) over 8 weeks in nursing home patients with dementia and chronic pain.
