Background And Aims: Recovery from substance use disorders (SUD) has traditionally been equated with abstinence. "Personal recovery" however emphasizes recovery as a unique and personal process, supported by changes in connectedness, hope, identity, meaning and empowerment. This study aimed to examine personal recovery in people receiving extended-release naltrexone (XR-NTX); specifically investigate changes in personal recovery during treatment, identify groups of participants following distinct trajectories of recovery, and characteristics predicting group-belonging.

Experiences of the Quality of the Interplay between Home-Living Young Adults with Serious Mental Illness and Their Social Environments.

The purpose of this study is to explore the experiences of the interplay between home-living young adults in the community with a serious mental illness (SMI) and their social environment and how this experience influence their mental health and well-being in light of the theory of salutogenesis. In a qualitative study, nine young adults with SMI were interviewed. The interviews were transcribed and subjected to reflexive thematic analysis.

Background: Little is known about the comparative effects of various bariatric procedures on patient-reported outcomes. We aimed to compare 3-year effects of gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy on patient-reported outcome measures in patients with obesity and type 2 diabetes.

Methods: The Oseberg trial was a single-centre, parallel-group, randomised trial at Vestfold Hospital Trust, a public tertiary obesity centre in Tønsberg, Norway.

Efficacy, Durability and Safety of Faricimab in Neovascular Age-Related Macular Degeneration and Diabetic Macular Oedema: Lessons Learned from Registration Trials.

Introduction: This review aims to assess the efficacy, durability and safety of faricimab-a dual vascular endothelial growth factor and angiopoietin 2 inhibitor-in patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) and diabetic macula oedema (DMO). It summarises the findings of current studies on faricimab and discusses whether this new drug may fill a gap in current treatment options.

Methods: We performed a search of the PubMed, Cochrane, Web of Science and EMBASE databases for publications on faricimab between 29 November 2022 and 10 May 2023, and a search of ClinicalTrials.

Fish intake and pre-frailty in Norwegian older adults - a prospective cohort study: the Tromsø Study 1994-2016.

Background: Pre-frailty is an intermediate, potentially reversible state before the onset of frailty. Healthy dietary choices may prevent pre-frailty. Fish is included in most healthy diets, but little is known about the association between long-term habitual fish intake and pre-frailty.

Knowledge and motivation to adopt recommended health behaviours to reduce dementia risk among the elderly in Norway: a qualitative study.

Objectives: Dementia is a major healthcare challenge; however, there is evidence that modifiable risk factors may contribute to reduce dementia risk. The aim of the study was to explore the knowledge and motivation for adopting recommended health behaviours among older adults in Norway.

Introduction: Alcohol consumption has increased in recent years, including among women of childbearing age. A woman's alcohol intake during pregnancy is linked to complications and injuries in the newborn, and the risk of the child being harmed by the mother's alcohol use increases in proportion to the amount of alcohol she consumes. Background: The aim of this study was to train and assess firefighters' skill attainment in the use of tourniquets, and to assess their skill retention after 3 mo. The purpose is to show if firefighters can successfully apply a tourniquet after a short course based on the Norwegian national recommendation for civil prehospital tourniquet use.

Clinical pharmacist intervention to improve medication safety for hip fracture patients through secondary and primary care settings: a nonrandomised controlled trial.

Background: Hip fracture patients face a patient safety threat due to medication discrepancies and adverse drug reactions when they have a combination of high age, polypharmacy and several care transitions. Consequently, optimised pharmacotherapy through medication reviews and seamless communication of medication information between care settings is necessary. Aim: To assess case fatality rate (CFR), infant mortality, and long-term neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) after invasive group B streptococcal (GBS; Streptococcus agalactiae) infection in infants.

Method: Children born in Norway between 1996 and 2019 were included. Data on pregnancies/deliveries, GBS infection, NDDs, and causes of death were retrieved from five national registries.

Background: Neuroinflammation is involved in the pathophysiology of Alzheimer's disease (AD), including immune-linked genetic variants and molecular pathways, microglia and astrocytes. Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, immune-mediated disease with genetic and environmental risk factors and neuropathological features. There are clinical and pathobiological similarities between AD and MS.

Background: In individuals with schizophrenia, inflammation is associated with depression, somatic comorbidity and reduced quality of life. Physical exercise is known to reduce inflammation in other populations, but we have only limited knowledge in the field of schizophrenia. Objective: Antiarrhythmic drugs are recommended for out of hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) with shock-refractory ventricular fibrillation (VF). Amplitude Spectral Area (AMSA) of VF is a quantitative waveform measure that describes the amplitude-weighted mean frequency of VF, it correlates with intramyocardial adenosine triphosphate (ATP) concentration, it is a predictor of shock efficacy and an emerging indicator to guide defibrillation and resuscitation efforts. How AMSA might be influenced by amiodarone administration is unknown.

Antimicrobial susceptibility testing of Bacteroides species by disk diffusion: The NordicAST Bacteroides study.

Objectives: Antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) of anaerobic bacteria has until recently been done by MIC methods. We have carried out a multi-centre evaluation of the newly validated EUCAST disk diffusion method for AST of Bacteroides spp.

Methods: A panel of 30 Bacteroides strains was assembled based on reference agar dilution MICs, resistance gene detection and quantification of cfiA carbapenemase gene expression.

Development of a tool to predict the risk of incident heart failure in a general population: the HUNT for HF risk score.

Aims: Currently, no incident heart failure (HF) risk score that is in regular use in a general population is available. We aimed to develop this and compare with existing HF risk scores.

Methods And Results: Participants in the third wave (2006-08) of the population-based Trøndelag Health Study 3 (HUNT3) were included if they reported no previous HF.

Plasma-Metanephrines in Patients with Autoimmune Addison's Disease with and without Residual Adrenocortical Function.

Purpose: Residual adrenocortical function, RAF, has recently been demonstrated in one-third of patients with autoimmune Addison's disease (AAD). Here, we set out to explore any influence of RAF on the levels of plasma metanephrines and any changes following stimulation with cosyntropin.
