Tumor immunological characterization includes evaluation of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) and programmed cell death protein ligand-1 (PD-L1) expression. This study investigated TIL distribution, its prognostic value, and PD-L1 expression in metastatic and matched primary tumors (PTs). Specimens from 550 pan-cancer patients of the SHIVA01 trial (NCT01771458) with available metastatic biopsy and 111 matched PTs were evaluated for TILs and PD-L1.

Adjusting drug dose levels based on equations that standardize the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) to a body surface area (BSA) of 1.73 m can pose challenges, especially for patients with extremely high or low body mass index (BMI). The objective of the present study of patients with CKD and diabetes was to assess the impact of deindexing creatinine-based equations on estimates of kidney function and on the frequency of inappropriate prescriptions of oral antidiabetic drugs (OADs).

Introduction: Qualitative research on the perceptions of healthcare professionals involved in cancer care about their respective roles in the patient care pathway is limited. Therefore, the aim of this qualitative study was to document these perceptions.
Methods: A multidisciplinary team that included patient researchers constructed a semi-structured interview guide on the perceptions of the colorectal cancer care pathway by professionals.

Increasing attention has recently been paid to discrepancies between office and ambulatory blood pressure (BP) control in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), but information on mechanisms underlying circadian BP variations in CKD remains scarce. We described circadian BP patterns and their predictors in patients with CKD stages 1 to 5 referred for kidney function testing in a French tertiary hospital: 1122 ambulatory BP measurements from 635 participants. Factors associated with daytime and nighttime systolic BP (SBP) as well as with nocturnal SBP dipping (ratio of average nighttime to daytime SBP) were analyzed with linear mixed regression models.

Purpose: Treatment of retroperitoneal lymph node metastases (RPN) from colon cancer (CC) is a therapeutic challenge. Available evidence supporting a curative approach is weak and uncertainties remain concerning the extent of the dissection, the optimal timing for surgery, and the role of adjuvant radiotherapy. We report the outcomes of a curative intent strategy in a recent monocentric series of patients.

Background: Current guidelines recommend that patients with HER2-low metastatic breast cancer (MBC) receive sequentially two antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs): Sacituzumab Govitecan (SG) and Trastuzumab Deruxtecan (T-DXd), despite a similar payload. However, the effectiveness of one after another is unknown.
Methods: ADC-Low is a multicentre, retrospective study evaluating the efficacy of SG and T-DXd, one after another, with or without intermediary lines of chemotherapy, in patients with HER2-low MBC.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic related to SARS-CoV-2 virus was responsible for global pandemic. The severe form of the disease was linked to excessive activation of immune pathways together with a systemic cytokine storm response and thrombotic venous or arterial complications. Factors predicting severe outcomes including venous and/or pulmonary thrombosis (VT) and death were identified, but the prognostic role of their combination was not addressed extensively.

Background: Thoraco-abdominal asynchrony (TAA) is usually assessed by respiratory inductance plethysmography. The main parameter used for its assessment is the calculation of the phase angle based on Lissajous plots. However, there are some mathematical limitations to its use.

Background: Movement smoothness is a potential kinematic biomarker of upper extremity (UE) movement quality and recovery after stroke; however, the measurement properties of available smoothness metrics have been poorly assessed in this group. We aimed to measure the reliability, responsiveness and construct validity of several smoothness metrics.
Methods: This ancillary study of the REM-AVC trial included 31 participants with hemiparesis in the subacute phase of stroke (median time since stroke: 38 days).

Objectives: Daratumumab-treated myeloma patients may face increased seasonal influenza risk due to weakened postvaccination immune responses, especially with daratumumab treatment. We aimed to assess humoral responses to boosted influenza vaccination in daratumumab-treated or -untreated patients.
Methods: In a single-center study, we evaluated humoral responses (hemagglutination-inhibition assay) one month following a two-injection (4-weeks apart) influenza vaccination (standard dose) in 84 patients with multiple myeloma (40 with daratumumab in the past year).

This study aimed to explore the perception of an underutilised collaborative information system through qualitative research, utilizing semi-structured, in-depth interviews with independent midwives and physician. PROSPERO, is a collaborative information system designed to bridge the communication gap between community-based healthcare workers and hospital-based care teams for parturients in Lyon, France. Through 27 semi-structured in-depth interviews with midwives, obstetricians, and general practitioners, we identified key themes related to the system's adoption: implementation challenges, utilisation barriers, interprofessional dynamics, and hidden variables affecting system use.

Objectives: In this study, we aimed to assess the efficacy of different ways of administration and types of beta-lactams for hospitalized community-acquired pneumonia (CAP).
Methods: In this post-hoc analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCT) on patients hospitalized for CAP (pneumonia short treatment trial) comparing 3-day vs. 8-day durations of beta-lactams, which concluded to non-inferiority, we included patients who received either amoxicillin-clavulanate (AMC) or third-generation cephalosporin (3GC) regimens, and exclusively either intravenous or oral treatment for the first 3 days (followed by either 5 days of oral placebo or AMC according to randomization).

Background & Aims: Despite its high prevalence in the western world metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) does not benefit from targeted pharmacological therapy. We measured healthcare utilisation and identified factors associated with high-cost MASLD patients in France.
Methods: The prevalent population with MASLD (including non-alcoholic steatohepatitis) in the CONSTANCES cohort, a nationally representative sample of 200,000 adults aged between 18 and 69, was linked to the French centralised national claims database (SNDS).
