Background: The aim of this study was to characterize hereditary spastic paraplegias (HSP) patients' urodynamic profiles and development of bladder symptoms.

Methods: This is a multicentric retrospective study which included patients presenting with bladder disorders. We reviewed medical and urodynamic records in individuals with HSP and recorded age at onset of gait and bladder disorders, disability stage at the time of urodynamic assessment.

Acute kidney injury as a key predictor of cardiovascular events in chronic kidney disease patients: the CKD-REIN study.

Background And Hypothesis: Cardiovascular diseases are a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Acute kidney injury (AKI) has been increasingly recognized as a potential exacerbating factor for cardiovascular events in these patients. The CKD-REIN study aims to explore the relationship between AKI and the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in a cohort of CKD patients.

Background: A significant proportion of trans women is demanding for a genital gender-affirming surgery, with vulvo-vaginoplasty being the most frequently requested procedure. The gold standard for primary vaginoplasty in trans women is the penile skin inversion technique with scrotal skin graft, which allows for increased depth of the vaginal cavity.

Aims: The assessment of vulvo-vaginoplasty outcomes utilizing penile skin inversion and scrotal skin graft in individuals assigned male at birth in the surgeon's learning curve involves evaluating aesthetics, functionality, and sexual aspects.

Urinary schistosomiasis: The Corsican file.

Schistosomiasis, known as bilharzia, is a parasitic disease caused by trematodes of the genus Schistosoma, found primarily in Africa and pockets of the Middle East. Southern Europe seems to be a breeding ground for urogenital schistosomiasis emergence. Ten and five years have passed since the first and the last cases of urogenital schistosomiasis were identified in Corsica (patients who have bathed in the Cavu and/or Solenzara rivers between 2013 and 2019).

Purpose: Onco-nephrology is an emerging subspecialty aiming to better understand and prevent renal events in cancer patients. We assessed patients' knowledge about (1) oncological/hematological treatments induced renal toxicity and (2) kidney protective measures.

Methods: Adult patients receiving systemic anti-tumor treatments in multiple day hospital units in France answered a self-administered questionnaire about their knowledge and expectations related to treatment-associated renal toxicity.

Mothers' and caregivers' experiences of COVID-19 restrictions during postpartum hospitalisation: a cross-sectional survey in France.

Background: Transmission of SARS-CoV-2 highlighting the importance of social distancing guidelines. Following a series of lockdowns and the widespread vaccination of the European population, many countries began to lift these restrictions. During this period, while some parents yearned for emotional support and family presence, others found that the solitude facilitated by the restrictions was beneficial for bonding and breastfeeding.

Development of Surface EMG for Gait Analysis and Rehabilitation of Hemiparetic Patients.

Background: The quantification of electromyographic activity using surface electrodes is invaluable for understanding gait disorders in patients with central nervous system lesions. We propose to evaluate a commercially available low-cost system compared to a reference system in participants with stroke-related movement disorders in functional situations.

Methods: Three hemiparetic participants performed three functional tasks: two treadmill walks at different speeds and a sit-to-stand test.

[Molecular profiling in biliary tract cancers: A national practice survey of French platforms].

Introduction: Molecular profiling has become essential in the management of patients with biliary tract cancer (BTC). The aim of this study was to evaluate the practices of French genetics platforms in the management of BTCs.

Methods: A survey was developed by a multidisciplinary group and distributed to each of the 28 French genetics platforms over a one-month period.

Clinical and pathological features of renal tumours among women previously treated for breast carcinomas - the CanSeRe study.

Introduction: Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and breast carcinoma (BC) are frequent tumours, yet their co-occurrence in the same patient is a unique scenario. Few studies explored the characteristics of such patients without specific focus on pathological data. In this retrospective study, we aimed to describe the clinico-pathological features of RCC patients with a history of BC and compare them to a control cohort of RCC women free of previous BC.

Fluid responsiveness in acute respiratory distress syndrome patients: a post hoc analysis of the HEMOPRED study.

Purpose: Optimal fluid management in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is challenging due to risks associated with both circulatory failure and fluid overload. The performance of dynamic indices to predict fluid responsiveness (FR) in ARDS patients is uncertain.

Methods: This post hoc analysis of the HEMOPRED study compared the performance of dynamic indices in mechanically ventilated patients with shock, with and without ARDS, to predict FR, defined as an increase in aortic velocity time integral (VTI)  > 10% after passive leg raising (PLR).

The complement system is a set of over 50 proteins that constitutes an essential part of the innate immune system. Complement system activation involves an organized proteolytic cascade. Overactivation of complement system activation is the main pathogenic mechanism of several diseases and contributes to the manifestations of many other conditions.

Association between the antibiotics use and recurrence in patients with resected colorectal cancer: EVADER-1, a nation-wide pharmaco-epidemiologic study.

Background: The impact of antibiotics (ATBs) on the risk of colorectal cancer (CRC) recurrence after curative resection remains unknown.

Methods: Using the French nation-wide database of cancer patients, all newly diagnosed non-metastatic CRC patients resected between 01/2012 and 12/2014 were included. The perioperative ATB intake (from 6 months before surgery until 1 year after) was classified according to the class, the period of use (pre- vs post-resection), the disease stage (localized and locally advanced), and the primary tumor location (colon and rectum/junction).

Tuberculosis in otherwise healthy adults with inherited TNF deficiency.

Severe defects in human IFNγ immunity predispose individuals to both Bacillus Calmette-Guérin disease and tuberculosis, whereas milder defects predispose only to tuberculosis. Here we report two adults with recurrent pulmonary tuberculosis who are homozygous for a private loss-of-function TNF variant. Neither has any other clinical phenotype and both mount normal clinical and biological inflammatory responses.
