Introduction: The American continent populations have a wide genetic diversity, as a product of the admixture of three ethnic groups: Amerindian, European, and African Sub-Saharan. Esquamosan, a new furofuran lignan, has been isolated by bio-guided assays from the methanolic extract of the leaves of L., and its structure was elucidated by spectroscopic methods. The first known published representations of ape-like primates appear in Medieval European books during the first century following the invention of printing. The excitation-contraction coupling (ECC) in skeletal muscle refers to the Ca-mediated link between the membrane excitation and the mechanical contraction. The initiation and propagation of an action potential through the membranous system of the sarcolemma and the tubular network lead to the activation of the Ca-release units (CRU): tightly coupled dihydropyridine and ryanodine (RyR) receptors. The RyR gating allows a rapid, massive, and highly regulated release of Ca from the sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR).

A model of salt-loaded pregnant rats has been previously studied, sharing several pathological characteristics of preeclamptic women. Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) represents a new global threat demanding a multidisciplinary effort to fight its etiological agent-severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). In this regard, immunoinformatics may aid to predict prominent immunogenic regions from critical SARS-CoV-2 structural proteins, such as the spike (S) glycoprotein, for their use in prophylactic or therapeutic interventions against this highly pathogenic betacoronavirus.
