Nanoplastics and other cocontaminants have raised concerns due to their widespread presence in the environment and their potential to enter the food chain. The harmful effects of these particles depend on various factors, such as nanoparticle size, shape, surface charge, and the nature of the cocontaminants involved. On entering the human body, human serum albumin (HSA) molecules bind and transport these particles in the blood system.

Synthesis of aluminium-based nanomaterials from aluminium-waste has received huge attention in current scientific research. Herein, an attempt was made to convert aluminium foil food container into aluminium oxyhydroxide (AlOOH) nanoparticles by a precipitation method. X-ray diffraction (XRD), spectroscopic and electron microscopic studies were employed to characterize impure AlOOH (containing sodium chloride, NaCl) and pure AlOOH samples.

Action research (AR) and reflective thinking (RT) can enhance learning since both processes provide students with the opportunities to step back and think about how they actually solve problems. While there is a robust academic inquiry on reflection practices and AR in the educational setting, investigating learners' reflections through AR practices can shed more light on related research. This study implemented reflective journal writing through AR and aimed to investigate (1) the participants' views about reflective journal writing, (2) the effects of journal writing on RT development, and (3) the learners' grammar use in writing.

Aims: Gender disparities exist in smoking-related lung cancer epidemiology, but the molecular basis has not been explored so far. We aimed at identifying genes with gender-bias expression pattern in smoking lung cancer patients for understanding the molecular basis of gender bias in smokers using meta-analysis of microarray gene expression data.
Materials And Methods: Transcriptome of around 1100 samples from 13 studies were used in the meta-analysis to identify 'Lung Cancer genes specific to Female-Smokers' (LCFS) and 'Lung Cancer genes specific to Male-Smokers' (LCMS).

Multivariate image analysis-quantitative structure-activity relationship (MIA-QSAR) is a simple and quite accessible QSAR method for predicting biological activities of compounds based on two-dimensional image analysis. Aug-MIA-QSAR is a modified version of multivariate image analysis, where the atoms in 2D chemical structures were augmented (labelled by assigning specific colours). This study focuses on efficiently constructing such prediction models using a dataset of flavonoid derivatives possessing human immunodeficiency virus - 1 inhibition.

Supercapacitors are perfect energy storage devices; they can be charged almost instantly and release energy over a long period. Another advantage of using supercapacitors is their multipletimes chargeable behavior with minimum degradation in performance. Herein, we report the nanoporous activated carbon based modified electrodes prepared by using phosphoric acid (PA) activation method at different temperatures (600, 700, 800, and 900 °C) using bio-waste precursor, () fruit shell.

Pure ZnO and dZnO (doped ZnO) systems of type ZnMO (M = Co, Cu, Fe and Mn) synthesised by co-precipitation method were evaluated for DSSC studies. Tween-80, a non-ionic surfactant which was used during preparation process also acted as binder for coating the nanoparticles on the FTO glass plate. In order to reduce the band gap, transition metal dopants have been incorporated into ZnO so that it changes the photo electrochemical properties.

The present paper is focused on a simple and economical route to synthesize the organic template-free hierarchical pure and M (Cu, Ni)-modified ZSM-5 zeolites (1%, 3% and 5%) using hydrothermal treatment in the presence of silica rich rice husk ash and its application studies through the evaluation of their anti-cancer activity on A459 human lung epithelial cancer cell lines. The physical properties of the samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, high resolution scanning electron microscopy, high resolution transmission electron microscopy, N adsorption/desorption techniques and thermogravimetric analysis respectively. These metals modified hierarchical ZSM-5 zeolites showed considerable in-vitro anticancer efficiency towards human lung cancer (A549) cell lines through (3-(4, 5-dimethyl thiazolyl)-2, 5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide) MTT assay.
