Background: Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is a class I indication for left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) ≤35% and heart failure (HF). Left bundle branch block (LBBB)-associated nonischemic cardiomyopathy (LB-NICM) with minimal or no scar by cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging may be associated with excellent prognosis following CRT. Left bundle branch pacing (LBBP) can achieve excellent resynchronization in LBBB patients.

Background Frequent venepuncture for monitoring of serum urea and creatinine in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients on dialysis will result in venous damage and infection. In this research, we assessed the feasibility of utilizing salivary samples as a substitute for serum samples in determining the levels of urea and creatinine in patients with CKD undergoing dialysis. Methods The study participants included 50 patients diagnosed with CKD undergoing hemodialysis and an equal number of apparently healthy individuals.

Right ventricle (RV) apex continues to remain as the standard pacing site in the ventricle due to ease of implantation, procedural safety and lack of convincing evidence of better clinical outcomes from non-apical pacing sites. Electrical dyssynchrony resulting in abnormal ventricular activation and mechanical dyssynchrony resulting in abnormal ventricular contraction during RV pacing can result in adverse LV remodelling predisposing some patients for recurrent heart failure (HF) hospitalisation, atrial arrhythmias and increased mortality. While there are significant variations in the definition of pacing induced cardiomyopathy (PIC), combining both echocardiographic and clinical features, the most acceptable definition for PIC would be left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of <50%, absolute decline of LVEF by ≥10% and/or new-onset HF symptoms or atrial fibrillation (AF) after pacemaker implantation.

Introduction Surgical scar endometriosis is a subtype of extra-pelvic endometriosis that is characterized by the formation of endometrial tissue near the incision site in patients who have previously undergone surgery. In recent times, with the increasing trend in Caesarean sections, the incidence of surgical scar endometriosis has also emerged. This study aims to describe the clinical characteristics and management of surgical scar endometriosis.

Cardiac pacing refers to the implantation tool serving as a treatment modality for various indications, the most common of which is symptomatic bradyarrhythmia. Left bundle branch pacing has been noted in the literature to be safer than biventricular pacing or His-bundle pacing in patients with left bundle branch block (LBBB) and heart failure, thereby becoming the focus of further research on cardiac pacing. A review of the literature was conducted using a combination of keywords, including "Left Bundle Branch Block," "Procedural techniques," "Left Bundle Capture," and "Complications.

To study the safety of percutaneous vs open tracheostomy approaches on patients requiring long term ventilation in ICU setting. It is a prospective study done over a period of 2 years on 105 patients requiring long term ventilation in ICU set up in a tertiary care hospital. Patients were subjected to either open approach or percutaneous tracheostomy bedside in ICU itself.

Study Design: Prospective randomized controlled study.
Purpose: This study aimed to assess the effects of a different combination of anesthetic techniques in lumbar and thoracolumbar spinal surgeries in terms of muscle relaxation and surgical field in addition to hemodynamic parameters.
Overview Of Literature: Adequate relaxation of the erector spinae muscle and good surgical fields are preferred in lumbar spine surgeries.

Purpose Of Review: As the percentage of patients achieving long-term survival following treatment of their cancer grows, it is increasingly important to understand the long-term toxicities of cancer-directed treatment. In this review, we highlight the recent findings regarding radiation-induced cardiotoxicity across multiple disease sites, with a particular focus on heart failure.
Recent Findings: Despite its relative lack of study historically, radiation-induced heart failure has now recently been implicated in several studies of breast cancer, lung cancer, esophageal cancer, and lymphoma as a non-trivial potential consequence of thoracic radiotherapy.

Background: Fundic gland polyps (FGP) of stomach are benign, while some hyperplastic polyps (HP) may harbor dysplasia or malignancy. Conventional white light endoscopy (WLE) cannot reliably distinguish FGP from HP. We investigated the role of image-enhanced endoscopy in differentiating FGP from HP.

Biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP) serves as one of the substitutes for bone as it consists of an intimate mixture of beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) and hydroxyapatite (HAP) in different ratios. BCP, because of its inbuilt properties such as osteoconductivity, biocompatibility, and biostability in several clinical models serves as a bone substituent for orthopedic applications. Therefore, the present study aimed to assess the effectiveness of silver (Ag) nanoparticles (NPs) combined with BCP composites for the orthopedic sector of bone tissue regeneration and growth.

Introduction During an individual's lifetime, around 15% to 25% of patients with diabetes mellitus develop foot ulcers, and about 1% of patients end up with an amputation. For the past two decades, we have treated diabetic foot ulcers with a variety of methods including cleansing and dressing after debridement of the lesion, where the dressing is applied using local insulin, topical phenytoin, normal saline dressing, etc. We conducted the present study to compare the efficacy of diabetic foot ulcer management between local injectable insulin, topical phenytoin, and normal saline among diabetic patients.

Background: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients can present with a wide array of symptoms. For laboratory investigation of these patients several biochemical tests are routinely requested. Here we wanted to evaluate the utility of procalcitonin (PCT), ferritin, D-dimer, interleukin 6 (IL-6) and total lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity in predicting severe COVID-19 infection.

Background: Hand hygiene is a significant component involved in preventing transmission of health care associated infections including COVID-19. Compliance to hand hygiene among the health care workers (HCWs) requires evaluation and timely feedback. "You can't improve what you can't measure" is a famous saying and this multicentric study was designed to measure hand hygiene compliance and have birds eye view on hand hygiene compliance in COVID Intensive care units (ICUs) and wards across India.

Aim: The main purpose of this study was to compare the wettability of light and medium body consistencies of three different elastomeric impression materials during their working time.
Materials And Methods: Vinylpolysiloxane, polyether, and vinylsiloxanether light body and medium body impression materials were used to fabricate the test samples. The contact angles of the impression materials were determined at 30 s from the start of mixing until their entire range of working time using a goniometer.

Background: Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) using biventricular pacing has limited efficacy in patients with heart failure (HF) and right bundle branch block (RBBB). Left bundle branch area pacing (LBBAP) is a novel physiologic pacing option.
Objective: The aim of the study was to assess the feasibility and outcomes of LBBAP in HF patients with RBBB and reduced left ventricular systolic function, and indication for CRT or ventricular pacing.
