Objective: Cyanoacrylate closure (CAC) is a minimally invasive technique for treating axial venous reflux. However, the incidence of serious adverse events (AEs) related to CAC is concerning. With an increasing number of patients undergoing CAC and insufficient safety data in Japan, this study aimed to investigate the safety profile of CAC, focusing on the types and incidence of AEs.

Background: to compare different anesthesia protocols during High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) for saphenous trunk (GSV/SSV) and/or varicosities incompetence treatment.
Material And Methods: patients with GSV/SSV incompetence with varicose veins underwent HIFU under different anesthesia protocols. The primary endpoint was the pain score during HIFU using a 10-point scale.

In the medical field, ultrasound is commonly used for diagnostic imaging due to its ability to provide real-time images. However, High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) is also used for other clinical purposes, such as thermal tissue ablation. In the case of varicose veins, the potential role and benefits of HIFU have been known for a long time despite in-vivo results have mostly been preliminary and experimental, particularly regarding its effect on venous wall.

Introduction: It has been well established that grip strength measurements can be useful as a benchmark for comparing the efficacy of different treatment modalities as well as an aid in the assessment of the progress of disease and rehabilitation. Grip strength has also been shown to be a representative marker for sociodemographic factors.
Methods: Participants were selected from five different regions in a cross-sectional manner from the streets of Trinidad and Tobago, and a Jamar hand dynamometer was used to assess the metrics of hand grip, palmar grip, tip pinch, and key pinch across both hands.

Objective: The short-term anatomical success rates of mechanochemical ablation using the Clarivein device (Merit Medical) in the treatment of great saphenous vein (GSV) incompetence are high. However, the anatomical success rates seem to drop over time. The aim of this study was to determine the long-term outcomes of GSV treatment using the Clarivein and to assess whether specific anatomical features better correlate with clinical or quality of life (QoL)-related outcomes.

Introduction: Endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) is associated with an excellent outcome in the treatment of great saphenous vein (GSV) incompetence. However, the use of thermal ablation requires tumescent anaesthesia and is associated with a risk of thermal damage. Mechanochemical endovenous ablation (MOCA) is a non-thermal ablation (NTA) alternative, which combines mechanical endothelial damage with the infusion of a sclerosant liquid or foam.

Objectives: We evaluated the efficacy and safety of cyanoacrylate closure (CAC) for endovascular treatment of varicose veins with cyanoacrylate adhesive (VenaSeal® closure system) in Japan.
Methods: A multicenter prospective consecutive registry study was conducted at 12 centers in Japan on 125 patients with primary varicose veins who underwent CAC. The patients were evaluated on target vein occlusion, postoperative complications, Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) for pain, revised Venous Clinical Severity Score (rVCSS), Aberdeen Varicose Vein Questionnaire (AVVQ), and EuroQol 5 dimensions 5-level (EQ-5D-5L) for 1-year after the surgery.
Background: Inadvertent intra-arterial injection of sclerosants is an uncommon adverse event of both ultrasound-guided and direct vision sclerotherapy. This complication can result in significant tissue or limb loss and significant long-term morbidity.
Objectives: To provide recommendations for diagnosis and immediate management of an unintentional intra-arterial injection of sclerosing agents.

Bromelain is a mixture of proteolytic enzymes primarily extracted from the fruit and stem of the pineapple plant (). It has a long history of traditional medicinal use in various cultures, particularly in Central and South America, where pineapple is native. This systematic review will delve into the history, structure, chemical properties, and medical indications of bromelain.

Peripheral artery disease (PAD) affects more than 100 million people globally. Most PAD studies have been performed among predominantly White populations-less is known about other ethnicities. The aim of this cross-sectional study was to determine the prevalence and risk factors of PAD in a high-risk Asian population with ischaemic stroke (IS), myocardial infarction, unstable angina (CVD), or diabetes mellitus (DM).

Background: External iliac artery endofibrosis (EIAE) is a rare vascular disease which has been traditionally seen in avid cyclists. The conventional approach has been surgery, although no high-quality evidence suggests superiority of surgery over percutaneous endovascular intervention. There are limited data on the efficacy of stenting in EIAE.

Background: As the demand for non-invasive esthetic procedures to maintain a youthful appearance increases, there has been growing interest in the use of autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and platelet-poor plasma (PPP) for the treatment of facial aging. However, there are few studies directly comparing the efficacy of PRP and PPP for facial rejuvenation.
Objectives: This study aimed to compare the efficacy of PRP and PPP for facial rejuvenation.

Objective: The aim of this study was to summarize the existing evidence for the treatment of saphenous veins >10 mm in diameter, to determine whether there were vein size limits for treatment modalities, and to determine if there are specific technical considerations for treatment of large veins.
Methods: We searched the literature for reports of treatment methods and outcomes for patients with large-diameter saphenous veins treated with various ablation methods between 1993 and 2023. These studies were evaluated for the size of the vein determined as "large diameter," type of ablation method, study type, outcomes, adverse events, and any technical considerations noted.

Objective: After the Fontan operation (ie, direct anastomosis of the caval veins to the pulmonary arteries, constituting right ventricular bypass circulation), high central venous pressure can lead to peripheral venous stasis and venous valvar insufficiency. We hypothesized that post-Fontan patients are at a higher risk of developing lower extremity venous lesions detectable using duplex ultrasound, even if clinical signs of chronic venous disease might not be evident.
Methods: A total of 87 transplantation-free survivors after the Fontan procedure who reached adolescence or young adulthood (current age, 15-30 years) participated in a leg vein duplex ultrasound study.

The expression of CD14 in monocytic cells is elevated in atherosclerotic lesions where 7-oxyterols are abundant. However, it remains unknown whether atheroma-relevant 7-oxysterols are involved in receptor expression. Therefore, we investigated the effects of 7α-hydroxycholesterol (7αOHChol), 7β-hydroxycholesterol (7βOHChol), and 7-ketocholesterol (7K) on CD14 levels in THP-1 cells.

Background: endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) represents the gold standard in treating both great and small saphenous veins (GSV and SSV) incompetence. To achieve a "no-scalpel" procedure in patients with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI, CEAP C3-C6), concomitant phlebectomies could be replaced by ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy (UGFS) into varicose tributaries. The aim of this study is to present a single-centre experience on EVLA + UGFS for patients with CVI secondary to varicose veins and saphenous trunk incompetence, analysing ling-term outcomes.

We describe the case of an 82-year-old female referred to the vascular clinic for further evaluation and management of suspected inferior vena cava (IVC) thrombosis. She had previously presented to the general practitioner with a one-week history of vague abdominal pain in the right and left loins. Contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the abdomen and magnetic resonance angiography/magnetic resonance venography (MRA/MRV) revealed a 10 cm filling defect in the IVC, with the inferior margin of ≈5.
