The objectives of this study were to ascertain the feasibility of transcanal endoscopic underlay myringoplasty using temporalis fascia and compare the results with microscopic myringoplasty. This prospective randomized trial included 60 patients with mucosal chronic otitis media with tympanic membrane perforations of all sizes and locations apart from posteriorly based small or moderate sized perforations. In the endoscopy group, 30 patients underwent exclusive transcanal myringoplasty using tympanomeatal flap elevation with underlay graft placement.

Introduction: Splenic artery aneurysms are rare but clinically important entities because of their potential for life threatening rupture. They seldom exceed 3cms in size and only a few cases of giant splenic artery aneurysms (more than 10cm size) have been reported until now.
Presentation Of Case: A 58yr old female presented with painless pulsatile progressively enlarging lump in left upper abdomen.

Morphological variations of the sternocleidomastoid (SCM) muscle assume relevance during attempted surgical interventions in the cervical region. The present study reports bipartite clavicular attachment of the SCM in the neck of an adult male cadaver during performance of a routine anatomy demonstration. The anomaly was unilaterally observed on the left side of the neck.

Adductor hallucis (AH) is frequently employed in transposition onto the first metatarsal head to alleviate symptoms of hallux valgus. Although tis muscle receives sufficient anatomical description, it is often disregarded in clinical practice. The rare anomalies associated with AH, merit a detailed study owing to its contribution to the treatment of hallux valgus.

Objectives: The capillaries of placental villi play a very important role in the feto-maternal exchange of gases and nutrients. A morphological change in their structure may lead to the impairment of placental function. In this study an attempt has been made to find out the morphological and morphometric features of the capillaries in full term placental villi of non smoking mothers as well as active and passive smoking mothers under an electron microscope.

Variations in the venous architecture of the retro peritoneum is not uncommon, mostly those of Inferior Vena Cava (IVC). In this report we describe an extremely rare anatomical entity, where the IVC is formed by the union of the right common iliac vein and the left internal iliac vein. This is associated with a parallel venous channel which is the upward continuation of the left external iliac vein, which finally drains into the IVC at the level of renal veins.

The topography of the neurovascular structures in the antebrachium assumes relevance during surgical approaches in this region. The aim of the present case report was to describe the clinical importance of a bifid brachioradialis with the superficial branch of radial nerve entrapped between the two slips. The insertion of the two slips was unusual and merits a special documentation in anatomy literature.

The variations in the pattern of distribution of superior thyroid artery assume paramount importance for neck surgeons, in view of its vital topographical relationship to the external laryngeal nerve. In this study, we report an unusual variation in the arterial supply of the thyroid gland, which was detected during a routine dissection of an adult male cadaver. The right superior thyroid artery was absent whereas the left superior thyroid artery took origin from the left common carotid artery and showed a dominant pattern of distribution supplying the superior aspect of both the left and right lobes of the thyroid gland.

Such variations can be explained phylogenetically; owing to a synonymous occurrence in primates. In this report, we highlight a unique variation in the APL muscle of the left side in an adult male cadaver.

The study was conducted to evaluate a new cefixime-clavulanic acid combination for in vitro susceptibility towards gram-negative bacteria. A total of 220 isolates of Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeroginosa, Acinetobacter spp, Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi and Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium were included in the study. The isolates were tested for susceptibility towards the new combination antimicrobial molecule cefixime with clavulanic acid by disk diffusion and Epsilometer strip (E-strip) Minimum Inhibitary Concentration (MIC) method.
