Background: The changes in the physical structures of the products are the first things that consumers pay attention to. Therefore, it is essential and significant importance to take measures to improve the storage conditions of products and to minimize quality losses. The main objective of the study was to evaluate the effects of agro-ecological conditions on bioactive compounds and fruit quality of kiwifruit during cold storage.

Stigma perception and health fatalism in parents of children with epilepsy: A cross-sectional study.

Aim: The aim of this study was to examine the factors that affect stigma perceptions and health fatalism of parents of children with epilepsy in eastern Turkey, the relationship between these and the impact of these on their social lives.

Method: This descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted between August 2022 and January 2023 with the parents of children under the age of 18 who had been diagnosed with epilepsy for at least 1 year and who were followed up in the only hospital with a paediatric neurology outpatient clinic in Van province of Turkey. No sample selection was made in the study.

Effect of abemaciclib and curcumin administration on sex hormones, reproductive functions, and oxidative DNA expression in rats.

This study investigated whether abemaciclib (ABE) administration had any adverse effects on ovarian and sex hormones in female rats, and the protective effect of curcumin. Forty female rats were equally divided into the sham control, DMSO, curcumin (CMN), ABE, and ABE+CMN groups. Pharmaceuticals were administered by gavage daily for 28 days.

The role of ultrasound and mitofusin-2 levels to predict pregnancy outcomes in patients with severe preeclampsia: a case-control study.

Thyroid-disrupting effects of bisphenol S in male Wistar albino rats: Histopathological lesions, follicle cell proliferation and apoptosis, and biochemical changes.

In this presented study, the aim was to investigate the toxic effects of bisphenol S (BPS), one of the bisphenol A analogues, on the thyroid glands of male rats. Toward this aim, the rats ( = 28) were given a vehicle (control) or BPS at 3 different doses, comprising 20, 100, and 500 mg/kg of body weight (bw) via oral gavage for 28 days. According to the results, BPS led to numerous histopathological changes in the thyroid tissue.

Comprehensive analysis of bone tissue in extraction sockets of third molars after leukocyte and platelet rich fibrin and photobiomodulation applications.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare leukocyte and platelet-rich fibrin (L-PRF) and photobiomodulation (PBM) applications, which have been repeatedly reported to be superior to control groups, in terms of pain, soft tissue and bone healing in tooth extraction sockets.

Materials And Methods: This double-blind, randomized clinical study was completed with 34 patients, who had an indication for extraction of their bilaterally impacted teeth. The right and left teeth of the patients were randomly divided into L-PRF and PBM groups.

Efficacy of Coronary Calcium Score in Predicting Coronary Artery Morphology in Patients With Obstructive Coronary Artery Disease.

Background: Coronary artery calcium score (CACS) is an established marker of coronary artery disease (CAD) and has been extensively used to stratify risk in asymptomatic individuals. However, the value of CACS in predicting plaque morphology in patients with advanced CAD is less established. The present analysis aims to assess the association between CACS and plaque characteristics detected by near-infrared spectroscopy-intravascular ultrasound (NIRS-IVUS) imaging in patients with obstructive CAD.

Molecular Hybrid Design, Synthesis, In Vitro Cytotoxicity, In Silico ADME and Molecular Docking Studies of New Benzoate Ester-Linked Arylsulfonyl Hydrazones.

In this paper, we present the synthesis and characterization of two known sulfonyl hydrazides ( and ) and their new sulfonyl hydrazone derivatives (-), as well as in vitro and in silico investigations of their cytotoxic properties against human lung (A549) and human breast (MCF-7) cancer cell lines. The target compounds (-) obtained in high yields were synthesized for the first time by a multi-step reaction, and their structures were confirmed by elemental analysis and various spectral techniques, including FT-IR, H-, and C-NMR. The antiproliferative profiles of these compounds (, , and -) in this study were determined at concentrations of 200, 100, 50, and 25 µM against selected cancer cell lines for 72 h using the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) method.

Purpose: This study was conducted to determine stigma and attitudes in the relatives of patients with epilepsy and the factors affecting them.

Methods: This descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted with 173 relatives of patients with epilepsy who were admitted to the neurology outpatient clinic of a university hospital in Van Province, eastern Turkey, between April and December 2021. Individual information forms, the Epilepsy Stigma Scale Patient's Relative, and the Epilepsy Attitude Scale were used to collect the data.
