Convalescent plasma in patients receiving rituximab or ocrelizumab for multiple sclerosis or neuromyelitis Optica spectrum disorder with Covid-19: A multicenter retrospective study.

Background: Despite vaccination, patients receiving anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) for multiple sclerosis (MS) or neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) have an increased risk of developing severe or protracted COVID-19. The aim of this study was to describe the effect of COVID-19 convalescent plasma (CCP) in patients with MS or NMOSD exposed to anti-CD20 and infected by SARS-CoV-2.

Methods: This French national, retrospective cohort study was conducted between November 2020 and June 2023.

Rapid resistance detection is reliable for prompt adaptation of isoniazid resistant tuberculosis management.

Objectives: Appropriate tuberculosis (TB) management requires anti-TB drugs resistance detection. We assessed the performance of rapid resistance detection assays and their impact on treatment adaptation, focusing on isoniazid resistant (Hr) TB.

Methods: From 2016 to 2022, all TB cases enrolled in 3 hospitals were reviewed for phenotypic drug susceptibility testing (p-DST) and genotypic DST (g-DST) performed by rapid molecular testing, and next generation sequencing (NGS).

FOLFIRI Plus Durvalumab With or Without Tremelimumab in Second-Line Treatment of Advanced Gastric or Gastroesophageal Junction Adenocarcinoma: The PRODIGE 59-FFCD 1707-DURIGAST Randomized Clinical Trial.

Ojectives: To determine the efficacy of 1 or 2 immune checkpoint inhibitors combined with FOLFIRI (leucovorin [folinic acid], fluorouracil, and irinotecan) in the treatment of advanced gastric/GEJ adenocarcinoma.

Design, Setting, And Participants: The PRODIGE 59-FFCD 1707-DURIGAST trial is a randomized, multicenter, noncomparative, phase 2 trial, conducted from August 27, 2020, and June 4, 2021, at 37 centers in France that included patients with advanced gastric/GEJ adenocarcinoma who had disease progression after platinum-based first-line chemotherapy.

Real-life practice of reflectance confocal microscopy in France: A prospective multicenter study.

Background: Studies demonstrating the potential utility of reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) have been performed under experimental conditions.

Health-Related Quality of Life with Pembrolizumab in Patients with Locally Advanced or Recurrent or Metastatic Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma: KEYNOTE-629.

Introduction: At first interim analysis of KEYNOTE-629, health-related quality of life (HRQoL) with pembrolizumab was stable or improved over 48 weeks in recurrent or metastatic (R/M) cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC). HRQoL results from the second interim analysis in R/M or locally advanced (LA) cSCC are presented.

Methods: Patients received pembrolizumab 200 mg every 3 weeks for ≤ 2 years.

Patient-Reported Outcomes of Endovascular Treatment of Post-Thrombotic Syndrome: Ancillary Study of a French Cohort.

Excellent outcomes of angioplasty/stenting for the post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) have been reported, notably regarding objective criteria in the vast French SFICV cohort. Differences may exist between patient-reported and objective outcomes. We investigated this possibility by using validated scales because significative correlations are discordant in the literature between patency and patient-reported characteristics.

Overview of the Genetic Causes of Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Syndrome in a Large French Patient Cohort.

The use of multigene panel testing for patients with a predisposition to Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer syndrome (HBOC) is increasing as the identification of mutations is useful for diagnosis and disease management. Here, we conducted a retrospective analysis of BRCA1/2 and non-BRCA gene sequencing in 4630 French HBOC suspected patients. Patients were investigated using a germline cancer panel including the 13 genes defined by The French Genetic and Cancer Group (GGC)-Unicancer.

Effectiveness of mogamulizumab in patients with Mycosis Fungoides or Sézary syndrome: A multicentre, retrospective, real-world French study.

Background: Efficacy and safety of mogamulizumab, a monoclonal antibody directed against C-C chemokine receptor 4, were demonstrated in a previous multinational clinical trial conducted in patients with previously treated cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL): Sézary syndrome (SS) or Mycosis Fungoides (MF).

Objectives: The real-world French OMEGA study aimed to describe effectiveness and tolerability of mogamulizumab in adult patients with CTCL, overall and according to the disease (SS or MF).

Introduction: The coronavirus Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus Type 1 induces a severe respiratory disease, coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). After Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus Type 1 and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome infection, increased post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) rates were described.

Methods: This single-centred, prospective study aimed to evaluate the rates of PTSD in patients who were hospitalized for COVID-19.

Germline DNA alterations affecting homologous recombination pathway genes have been associated with pancreatic cancer (PC) risk. BRCA2 is the most studied gene and affects the management of PC patients and their families. Even though recent reports have suggested a similar role of germline ATM pathogenic variants (PV) in familial PC, there is still a disagreement between experts on how it could affect patient management given the lack of proper PC risk estimates.

Retrotransposon insertion as a novel mutational cause of spinal muscular atrophy.

Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is an autosomal recessive neuromuscular disorder resulting from biallelic alterations of the SMN1 gene: deletion, gene conversion or, in rare cases, intragenic variants. The disease severity is mainly influenced by the copy number of SMN2, a nearly identical gene, which produces only low amounts of full-length (FL) mRNA. Here we describe the first example of retrotransposon insertion as a pathogenic SMN1 mutational event.

Temporal trends in reperfusion therapy for patients with acute ischemic stroke.

Objectives: To analyze the temporal trends in thrombolysis rates after implementation of a regional emergency network for acute ischemic stroke (AIS).

Methods: We conducted a retrospective study based on a prospective multicenter observational registry. The AIS benefited from reperfusion therapy included in 1 of the 5 primary stroke units or 1 comprehensive stroke center and 37 emergency departments were included using a standardized case report form.

Comparison of cold biopsy forceps vs cold snare for diminutive colorectal polyp removal: A multicenter non-inferiority randomized controlled trial.

Background: European guidelines recommends the use of cold snare polypectomy (CSP) for removal of diminutive colorectal polyps (DCP). However, for DCP < 4 mm cold biopsy forceps (CBF) may be optional. We aimed to compare the efficacy of CSP with CBF for removal of DCP in routine colonoscopy.

Short- and Mid-Term Outcomes of Endovascular Stenting for the Treatment of Post-Thrombotic Syndrome due to Iliofemoral and Caval Occlusive Disease: A Multi-Centric Study from the French Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiovascular Imaging (SFICV).

Purpose: To assess the results of endovascular treatment in a large population of patients suffering from post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) due to iliocaval occlusive disease.

Methods: In this retrospective multi-center study, 698 patients treated by stenting for PTS in 15 French centers were analyzed. Primary, primary assisted, and secondary patency rates were assessed, and clinical efficacy was evaluated using Villalta and Chronic Venous Insufficiency Questionnaire in 20 questions (CIVIQ-20) scores.

CT texture analysis as a predictor of favorable response to anti-PD1 monoclonal antibodies in metastatic skin melanoma.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine whether texture analysis features on pretreatment contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) images and their evolution can predict treatment response of metastatic skin melanoma (SM) treated with anti-PD1 monoclonal antibodies.

Materials And Methods: Sixty patients (29 men, 31 women; median age, 56 years; age range: 27-91 years) with metastatic SM treated with pembrolizumab (43/60; 72%) or nivolumab (17/60; 28%) were included. Texture analysis of SM metastases was performed on baseline and first post-treatment evaluation CT examinations.

History of tonsillectomy and risk of oropharyngeal cancer.

Objective: To investigate whether palatine tonsillectomy in youth influences the risk of oropharyngeal cancers (OPC) by assessing the association between history of tonsillectomy and risk of tonsillar, base of tongue (BOT) cancer, and other head and neck cancers (HNC).

Materials And Methods: RACKAM was a case-case study comparing frequency of tonsillectomy history in individuals diagnosed with HNC from 2013 to 2018 in 15 centers across France. History of tonsillectomy was defined using combined assessment of patients' recollections and surgeons' visualizations of tonsil area.

Objective: We report two cases of carotid dissection revealed by isolated paralysis of the ipsilateral half tongue. . First patient, 52 years old, with no particular medical or surgical history, presented with isolated paralysis of the left half tongue preceded by two weeks of moderate-intensity cervicalgia and having been the subject to cervical manipulation.
