Background: The fate of suboptimal anastomosis is unknown and early detection of anastomotic leakage after colon resection is crucial for the proper management of patients.

Methods: Twenty-six rats were assigned to "Control", "Leakage" and "Suboptimal anastomosis" groups where they underwent either sham laparotomy, cecal ligation, and puncture or anastomosis with four sutures following colon resection, respectively. Objective: To compare mucosal and bony measurements in patients with congenital and traumatic nasal septum deviation and compensatory inferior turbinate hypertrophy.

Methods: The study examined 50 patients with nasal septum deviation (25 congenital and 25 traumatic) and compensatory inferior turbinate hypertrophy in the contralateral nasal cavity, confirmed by computed tomography.

Perinephric abscess is a rare complication of urinary tract infections, and the etiology is usually a gram negative bacillus. We report a case of Candida glabrata perinephric abscess in a patient with diabetes mellitus who had a recent episode of pyelonephritis that was treated with antibiotics. Percutaneous drainage and fluconazole treatment led to resolution of the infection.
