Purpose: To report an improved surgical procedure for primary congenital glaucoma (PCG).

Case Report: An apparently healthy 4-month-old male child was referred by an ophthalmologist with the preliminary diagnosis of congenital glaucoma. Office examination followed by evaluation under anaesthesia confirmed the diagnosis of advanced PCG in both eyes.

Imaging of the Ciliary Body: A Major Review.

Purpose: We conducted a systematic search of literature to understand the various methods of imaging of the ciliary body.

Methods: PubMed, Science Direct, Cochrane Library and Google Scholar were searched comprehensively and systematically to find studies related to the various modalities of ciliary body imaging.

Results: The various ciliary body parameters that have been described are Ciliary body thickness, Ciliary body length, ciliary muscle thickness, ciliary process length, ciliary muscle length, ciliary muscle anterior length, trabecular ciliary process distance and Iris ciliary process distance.

Aurolab Aqueous Drainage Implant (AADI): Review of Indications, Mechanism, Surgical Technique, Outcomes, Impact and Limitations.

Purpose: The purpose of this review is to place together all the knowledge available on aurolab aqueous drainage implant (AADI) in one place for the benefit of all glaucoma specialists who are interested in low-cost implants in developing world with desired results.

Purpose: To evaluate Vitamin B12 levels in healthcare professionals at a tertiary eyecare centre in India.

Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted among healthcare professionals working at a tertiary eyecare centre in India. The sample included 2,374 employees.

Drug induced cicatrizing conjunctivitis: A case series with review of etiopathogenesis, diagnosis and management.

Drug induced cicatrizing conjunctivitis (DICC) is defined as a disease in which conjunctival cicatrization develops as a response to the chronic use of inciting topical and, rarely, systemic medications. DICC accounts for up to one third of cases of pseudopemphigoid, a large group of cicatrizing conjunctival diseases sharing similar clinical features to those of mucous membrane pemphigoid (MMP) but generally without the morbidity of progressive scarring or the need for systemic immunosuppression. The preservatives in topical anti-glaucoma medications (AGM) are the most frequently implicated inciting causes of DICC although topical antivirals, vasoconstrictors and mydriatics and some systemic drugs have been implicated.

Comparison of long-term outcomes of trabeculectomy and risk factors for failure in eyes post penetrating keratoplasty or Descemet's stripping endothelial keratoplasty.

Purpose: To evaluate the outcomes of trabeculectomy, graft survival, and risk factors for failure in post penetrating keratoplasty (PK) and Descemet's stripping endothelial keratoplasty (DSEK) eyes.

Methods: We reviewed charts of eyes that underwent trabeculectomy for post keratoplasty glaucoma PK [25 eyes] and DSEK [14 eyes] between 1993 and 2019. The demographics, clinical features, and surgical outcomes were evaluated.

Co-existing lacrimal drainage anomalies in eyes with congenital Glaucoma.

Aim: To evaluate the occurrence of co-existing congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction (CNLDO) and other lacrimal anomalies in eyes with congenital glaucoma (CG).

Methods: Retrospective analysis of children aged ≤1-year with co-existing CG and CNLDO seen between 1998 and 2019, treatment interventions and outcomes.

Results: During the study period, 1993 children had CG and 6203 children had CNLDO, among the children aged 1-year or less.

Long-term outcomes of blebs repaired with scleral patch graft and conjunctival advancement in late-onset leak post-trabeculectomy.

Purpose: To report long-term outcomes in eyes that developed late-onset bleb leak post trabeculectomy, with or without hypotony and/or maculopathy, due to a scleral melt/fistula and who required a scleral patch graft and conjunctival advancement for repair.

Methods: Retrospective, non-comparative, interventional case series over a decade (2010-2019), presenting with late bleb leak post-filtration-surgery. All cases required a scleral patch graft and conjunctival advancement for management via a standard technique, performed by an experienced glaucoma surgeon.

Outcomes of Management of Glaucoma in Phacomatosis Pigmentovascularis Over the Last Three Decades: A Single-Center Experience.

Purpose: To report the clinical outcomes of glaucoma management in patients with phacomatosis pigmentovascularis (PPV) treated over a period of 3 decades.

Design: Retrospective cohort study.

Participants: Fifty-five eyes of 38 patients (21 unilateral and 17 bilateral) with glaucoma in PPV managed at one institution between January 1990 and December 2019 with a minimum follow-up of 1 year.

Unusual sequelae of staphyloma following Ahmed glaucoma valve explantation and its management.

We report a case of a 7-year-old boy, who presented with plate exposure after Ahmed glaucoma valve (AGV) implantation in the eye with secondary glaucoma following penetrating trauma. He underwent AGV explantation with scleral patch graft and conjunctival limbal autograft and started on topical and oral antiglaucoma medication (AGM) for intraocular pressure (IOP) control. Two months later, he presented to us with high intraocular pressure and uveal tissue prolapse at the site of previous tube entry displacing the scleral and conjunctival grafts posteriorly.

Outcomes of neovascular glaucoma in eyes presenting with moderate to good visual potential.

Purpose: To compare the disease characteristics and treatment outcomes of patients with neovascular glaucoma (NVG) presenting with visual acuity (VA) 6/60 or better in two different health systems.

Methods: Retrospective chart review of consecutive patients with NVG who presented between January 2016 to January 2018 in 5 tertiary-centres in India and one eye-specialist centre in London (UK) was performed. The baseline characteristics, treatment provisions, and visual outcomes in the India and UK cohorts were compared.

Outcomes of Descemet stripping endothelial keratoplasty combined with near total iridectomy in iridocorneal endothelial syndrome.

To report the outcomes of endothelial keratoplasty (EK) combined with near total iridectomy in the management of iridocorneal endothelial (ICE) syndrome with severely disorganised anterior segment. Three patients with ICE syndrome, who had a severely disorganised anterior segment underwent near total iridectomy, with/without cataract surgery, followed by EK at the same time. Mean age was 35 years.

Comparison of Saccadic Eye Movements Among the High-tension Glaucoma, Primary Angle-closure Glaucoma, and Normal-tension Glaucoma.

Prcis: Saccadic eye movements were compared between high-tension glaucoma (HTG), normal-tension glaucoma (NTG), and primary angle-closure glaucoma (PACG). Saccades were differently affected between the subtypes of primary glaucoma.

Aim: The aim of the study was to compare saccadic eye movements in eyes with HTG, PACG, and NTG.

Determinants of Optical Coherence Tomography Parameters in a Population-based Study.

Purpose: To study the effects of age, sex, intraocular pressure (IOP), corneal thickness, axial length (AXL), disc area, and the signal strength of the scan on optical coherence tomography (OCT) parameters of normal subjects in the L V Prasad Eye Institute-Glaucoma Epidemiological and Molecular Genetic Study (LVPEI-GLEAMS), a population-based study.

Design: Cross-sectional study.

Methods: A total of 1,100 eyes (1,100 subjects) of normal adults aged between 40 and 80 years from LVPEI-GLEAMS underwent macular and optic nerve head imaging with spectral-domain OCT (SDOCT).

A novel mutation in the aspartate beta-hydroxylase () gene is associated with a rare form of Traboulsi syndrome.

Background: Traboulsi syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive genetic disorder. The present study aimed to identify the pathogenic variants in the gene responsible for a rare and unique presentation of Traboulsi syndrome associated with cardiac disorder.

Methodology: DNA was isolated from the blood samples from 3 clinically diagnosed Traboulsi syndrome patients (n = 3) after obtaining a prior-informed consent.

Conversion of Flow-restrictive Ahmed Glaucoma Valve to a Nonrestrictive Drainage Implant by Slicing the Valve Leaflets: An In Vitro Study.

Precis: With a newly designed blade, slicing of the Ahmed glaucoma valve (AGV) leaflets helped to convert the flow-restrictive AGV into a non-flow-restrictive device. Flow characteristics by our in-vitro study confirmed the loss of resistance of AGV valve leaflets.

Purpose: To describe a new blade to destroy the valve leaflets of AGV and to report the in-vitro flow characteristics of AGV after valve destruction.

Phaco-endocycloplasty versus Phacotrabeculectomy in Primary Angle-Closure Glaucoma: A Prospective Randomized Study.

Purpose: To investigate the efficacy and safety of endocycloplasty (ECPL) versus trabeculectomy when it is combined with phacotrabeculectomy in medically controlled or uncontrolled primary angle-closure (PAC) or primary angle-closure glaucoma (PACG) after laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI).

Design: Prospective, interventional, randomized control trial.

Participants: Subjects with PAC/PACG aged 30 years or more after LPI with visually significant cataract.

Glaucoma as the presenting sign of intraocular tumors: beware of the masquerading sign.

Purpose: To discuss the clinical presentation and management of intraocular tumors masquerading as primary glaucoma or non-tumor-related secondary glaucoma.

Methods: Retrospective chart review.

Results: Ten patients with unsuspected intraocular tumor were referred to glaucoma clinic with a diagnosis of primary glaucoma or non-tumor-related secondary glaucoma.

New superior modified fornix-based twin-site phacotrabeculectomy.

Phacotrabeculectomy is the preferred surgical management of coexisting visually significant cataract and moderate to advanced glaucoma. We report the surgical technique of a new modified fornix-based separate-site phacotrabeculectomy, with mitomycin C (MMC) application, in both primary open angle and angle closure glaucoma. In this new separate-site technique, both phaco and filtration are accommodated superiorly, side by side, hence called twin-site.

Comparison of Visual Field Progression Rates Among the High Tension Glaucoma, Primary Angle Closure Glaucoma, and Normal Tension Glaucoma.

Purpose: To compare the visual field (VF) progression among high tension glaucoma (HTG), primary angle closure glaucoma (PACG), and normal tension glaucoma (NTG) subjects in routine clinical care.

Methods: All patients had ≥5 VF tests using HFA, 24-2, SITA-standard strategy. We compared the progression between glaucoma subtypes after matching the VFs for baseline severity (mean deviation [MD]) and the age at presentation.
