Phytochemical study on the EtOAc-soluble extract of the leaves of led to the isolation of a new furanochromone, 6,8-dihydroxy-2-methyl-9-furo[3,2-]chromen-9-one (), along with four known compounds (-). Their structures were elucidated based on the basis of the spectral interpretation. The plausible biosynthesis pathway for the formation of the new furanochromone was proposed.

Density functional theory (DFT) calculations are employed to examine the adsorption behaviors of cysteine on the gold surface using Au and Au species as model reactants. Computed results show that cysteine molecules prefer to bind with gold clusters via the S-atom of the thiol group in vacuum and thiolate group in water. The gas-phase adsorption energies are around 20.

Purpose: This report introduces a tool for merging two voxel phantoms to calculate the deposited dose that a person receives from a patient undergoing Nuclear medicine procedures.
Materials And Methods: The phantoms must be converted to the text format used by GEANT4 to treat DICOM images via the GAMOS utilities. The Merge Phantoms Tool can merge two phantoms in two different cases: standing either side by side or opposite.

From the methanol extract of the wood of (Anacardiaceae), we had isolated a new secondary metabolite named gedebic acid () and six known compounds (). Purpose: Under geometrical uncertainties, different plan evaluation methods have been suggested but the dose distribution at a specified confidence level being highly desirable is lacking. In this work, we used the DVPH (Dose Volume Population Histogram) tool to evaluate the dose distribution of CTVs and OARs (Organs at Risk) and validate the PTV concept at a certain confidence level.
Methods: The plans were evaluated using PTV DVH and the DVPH approach.

In this study, the biosorption mechanisms of methylene blue (MB) and Cr(iii) onto pomelo peel collected from our local fruits are investigated by combining experimental analysis with simulations. Factors that affect the adsorption such as pH, adsorption time, adsorbent dosage and initial adsorbate concentration, are fully considered. Five isotherm models-Langmuir, Freundlich, Sips, Temkin, and Dubinin-Radushkevich-are employed to estimate the capacity of pomelo peel adsorption, whereas four kinetic models-pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order, Elovich and intra-diffusion models-are also used to investigate the mechanisms of the uptake of MB and Cr(iii) onto the pomelo fruit peel.

Object retrieval plays an increasingly important role in video surveillance, digital marketing, e-commerce, etc. It is facing challenges such as large-scale datasets, imbalanced data, viewpoint, cluster background, and fine-grained details (attributes). This paper has proposed a model to integrate object ontology, a local multitask deep neural network (local MDNN), and an imbalanced data solver to take advantages and overcome the shortcomings of deep learning network models to improve the performance of the large-scale object retrieval system from the coarse-grained level (categories) to the fine-grained level (attributes).

The glycine zipper motif at the C-terminus of the β-amyloid (Aβ) peptide have been shown to strongly influence the formation of neurotoxic aggregates. A previous study showed that the G37L mutation dramatically reduces the Aβ toxicity in vivo and in vitro. Background: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is associated primarily with pathogenic mutations in sarcomeric genes. The aim of this study was to identify the prevalence and distribution of disease-causing mutations in HCM-associated genes and the genotype-phenotype relationship in Vietnamese patients with HCM.
Methods and results: Genetic testing was performed by next-generation sequencing in 104 unrelated probands for 23 HCM-related genes and in 57 family members for the mutation(s) detected.

In this study, we developed a new method for determining the density of liquids using the Compton backscattering technique. The principle of this method is based on the change in the area under a single scattering peak versus the liquid density. The linear calibration curve of the ratio R versus the density is required to determine the density of an unknown liquid (R is the ratio of the area under a single scattering peak for a liquid relative to that for water).

The newly defined fern genus Leptochilus contains about 50 species occurring in subtropical to tropical Asia and adjacent Pacific islands. The circumscription and phylogeny of the genus have been ambiguous and its species had been included in various genera such as Colysis, Dendroglossa, Kontumia, Microsorum, and Paraleptochilus. Previous molecular studies sampled only 2-4 molecular markers and 2-16 accessions of Leptochilus.

Aim: The aim of this study is to verify the Prowess Panther jaws-only intensity modulated radiation therapy (JO-IMRT) treatment planning (TP) by comparing the TP dose distributions for head-and-neck (H&N) cancer with the ones simulated by Monte Carlo (MC).
Background: To date, dose distributions planned using JO-IMRT for H&N patients were found superior to the corresponding three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT) plans. Dosimetry of the JO-IMRT plans were also experimentally verified using an ionization chamber, MapCHECK 2, and Octavius 4D and good agreements were shown.

Field experiments on soil radon and radium concentrations were carried out in eighteen locations in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
