Objective: The objective during the obturator fabrication (interim or definitive) should be to reduce the weight of the obturator prosthesis. This is because the increased weight of the maxillary obturator is detrimental to the success of the prosthesis due to decreased retention (pulled by gravity), constant rubbing of prosthesis on mucosa and increased patient discomfort.

Design And Interventions: Of the many simple baby-steps to ensure enhanced retention of the prosthesis, a simple method to reduce the weight has been described using the subtractive technique of obturator fabrication.

Introduction: The current literature suggests that the frequency and complexity of public health emergencies are rising and this trend will likely continue. From 2000 to 2023, seven events have been declared as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) by the World Health Organization (WHO). Organisational models such as the Incident Management System, Incident Response System and Incident Command System or country-specific models are essential in managing PHEIC.

Background: In resource-limited facilities, the greatest number of unfavorable maternal-fetal outcomes at referral hospitals is chronicled from emergency obstetric referrals of critically ill patients from lower health facilities. An efficient obstetric referral system is thus necessitated for improving maternal health. Referral practices have not been optimized effectively till date, owing to paucity of a detailed profile of referred women and indigenous barriers encountered during implementation process.

Introduction The risk of sudden death in patients with chronic coronary syndrome (CCS) is increased by unbalanced cardiovascular autonomic function. Since myocardial ischemia appears to be the cause of this condition of autonomic dysregulation, treating this condition should improve and correct the autonomic functions. Improving myocardial perfusion by PCI might have beneficial effects on the recovery of autonomic balance in ischemia-triggered autonomic dysregulation.
