In this study, the synthesis, anti-Candida activity and molecular modeling of 4-phosphorylated derivatives of 1,3-oxazole as inhibitors of fructose-1,6-bisphosphate aldolase (FBA-II) are demonstrated and discussed. Significant similarity of the primary and secondary structure, binding sites and active sites of FBA-II and are established. FBA-II inhibitors contained 1,3-oxazole-4-phosphonates moiety are created by analogy to inhibitors FBA-II .

Using Arabidopsis thaliana wild type (WT) plants and diacylglycerol kinase knockouts (single mutants - dgk3, dgk1, dgk6; double mutants - dgk3dgk7, dgk5dgk6, dgk1dgk2) we observed that the inhibitor of brassinosteroid (BR) biosynthesis, brassinazole (BRZ), drastically decreased germination of dgk mutants under salt stress, while BRZ co-administration with 24-epibrassinolide (EBL) partially improved germination rates. We also observed a statistically significant decrease in alternative and cytochrome respiratory pathways in response to BRZ treatment under salinity conditions. We showed that production of the lipid second messenger phosphatidic acid (PA) is impaired in dgk mutants in response to EBL treatment and inhibitor of diacylglycerol kinase (DGK) - R59022.

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is an infection disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) bacteria. One of the main causes of mortality from TB is the problem of Mtb resistance to known drugs.

Objective: The goal of this work is to identify potent small molecule anti-TB agents by machine learning, synthesis and biological evaluation.

Several model plants are known to respond to bacterial quorum sensing molecules with altered root growth and gene expression patterns and induced resistance to plant pathogens. These compounds may represent novel elicitors that could be applied as seed primers to enhance cereal crop resistance to pathogens and abiotic stress and to improve yields. We investigated whether the acyl-homoserine lactone N-hexanoyl-L-homoserine lactone (C6-HSL) impacted winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.

The bioactive bromotyrosine-derived alkaloids and unique morphologically-defined fibrous skeleton of chitin origin have been found recently in marine demosponges of the order Verongiida. The sophisticated three-dimensional (3D) structure of skeletal chitinous scaffolds supported their use in biomedicine, tissue engineering as well as in diverse modern technologies. The goal of this study was the screening of new species of the order Verongiida to find another renewable source of naturally prefabricated 3D chitinous scaffolds.

In the present work, the derivatives of calix[4]arene, thiacalix[4]arene, and sulfonylcalix[4]arene bearing four methylene(phenyl)phosphinic acid groups on the upper rim of the macrocycle were synthesized and studied as inhibitors of human protein tyrosine phosphatases. The inhibitory capacities of the three compounds towards PTP1B were higher than those for protein tyrosine phosphatases TC-PTP, MEG1, MEG2, and SHP2. The most potent sulfonylcalix[4]arene phosphinic acid displayed K value of 32 nM.

The choice of efficient antimicrobial additives for polyamide resins is very difficult because of their high processing temperatures of up to 300 °C. In this study, a new, thermally stable polymeric biocide, polyhexamethylene guanidine 2-naphtalenesulfonate (PHMG-NS), was synthesised. According to thermogravimetric analysis, PHMG-NS has a thermal degradation point of 357 °C, confirming its potential use in joint melt processing with polyamide resins.

Ester-functionalized pyridinium ionic liquids (ILs), 1-decyloxycarbonylmethylpyridinium chloride (PyrСOOC-Cl), and 1-dodecyloxycarbonylmethylpyridinium chloride (PyrСOOC-Cl) have been synthesized and studied for their environmental toxicity. Simple long-chain pyridinium ILs, 1-dodecylpyridinium chloride (PyrC-Cl), and commercial disinfectant cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC) were used as reference compounds. Both ester-functionalized ILs and CPC showed significantly reduced antibacterial activity compared to PyrC-Cl.
