Purpose: The term "cerebrovascular diseases (CVDs)" refers to a broad category of diseases that affect the brain's blood vessels and cerebral circulation. Controlling acute hypertension (HTN) by antihypertensive drugs such as clevidipine and nicardipine can be a highly efficient method of lowering the incidence of CVDs.

Methods: This is a systematic review and meta-analysis study.

Background And Objectives: Symptoms of respiratory distress syndrome (RDS), which is inverse correlation with gestational age and birth weight, occur in premature infants and newborns. The main objective of the study is comparative evaluation of the effects of BLES and Survanta on treatment of RDS in newborns.

Materials And Methods: In all, 100 patients were randomly divided into two groups of 50 subjects in this study.

Effects of Appropriate Nutrition Training in Small Groups on Laboratory Parameters in Hemodialysis Patients from Iran.

Introduction: Adherence to appropriate nutrition and fluid intake is one of the essential parts of chronic renal failure treatment for achieving the desirable results among the patients with hemodialysis. Among various training methods, the "small groups' method", as an advanced method, can be performed by nurses in achieving desirable therapeutic results. The present study was aimed to investigate the effect of appropriate nutrition training in small groups on laboratory parameters in hemodialysis patients.

Rapid ionic liquid-supported nano-hybrid composite reinforced hollow-fiber electromembrane extraction followed by field-amplified sample injection-capillary electrophoresis: An effective approach for extraction and quantification of Imatinib mesylate in human plasma.

The focus of this study is development of a new, convenient, rapid and sensitive electromembrane extraction approach (based on an ionic liquid-supported MWCNTs/ZnO reinforced hollow fiber, for the first time) as an off-line sample clean-up/preconcentration method coupled with capillary electrophoresis (CE-UV) using field-amplified sample injection (FASI) for quantification of Imatinib mesylate in human plasma. The nano-hybrid sorbent, coated by 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide ionic liquid ([OMIm]Br) in this research, was prepared by a feasible basic catalyzed sol-gel method. Then, it was immobilized (supported by capillary forces and sonication) in pores of a segment of a polypropylene hollow fiber membrane as the extraction unit after dispersing in 2-nitrophenyl octyl ether (NPOE) solvent and subsequently served as the supported liquid membrane (SLM) composition.

Unusually prolonged motor and sensory block following single injection ultrasound-guided infraclavicular block with bupivacaine and dexamethasone.

We present a case of unexpectedly prolonged motor and sensory block following a successful single injection ultrasound - guided infraclavicular block with bupivacaine (0.25%) and dexamethasone (8 mg). ultrasound guidance and safety measurement such as injection of the local anaesthetic at a slow rate and verifying that usual resistance was felt throughout the injection, has been applied.

17-β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 3 deficiency in three adult Iranian siblings.

17-β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 3 (17-β-HSD 3) deficiency is an autosomal recessive form of 46,XY disorder of sex development (DSD). To date, a total of 27 HSD17B3 gene mutations have been described in 46,XY patients exhibiting different phenotypes at birth and virilization at puberty, sometimes in association with gynecomastia. Herein, we investigate the 46,XY DSD in an Iranian family consisting of 7 siblings, 3 of which are affected and virilized at puberty.

Association of codon 10 polymorphism of the transforming growth factor beta 1 gene with prostate cancer and hyperplasia in an Iranian population.

Introduction: Genetic polymorphisms in codons 10 of the transforming growth factor beta(1) (TGF-beta(1)) gene TGFB1 have been shown to be associated with the production of high or low TGF-beta(1) levels. The role of this polymorphism in the development of prostate cancer and hyperplasia was investigated.

Subjects And Methods: Using the allele-specific oligonucleotide polymerase chain reaction method, the association between the polymorphism at codon 10 of the TGFB1 gene and the risk of prostate cancer (PCa) or benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) was determined.

Fatal respiratory thermal injury following accidental administration of carbon dioxide using the circle system for a cesarean delivery.

A 37-year-old parturient underwent emergency cesarean delivery because of severe preeclampsia. After induction of general anesthesia, the oxygen saturation decreased. Volatile anesthetics were discontinued and examination of the anesthetic circuit and machine revealed a soda lime canister that was extremely hot.

The effect of nitroglycerin as an adjuvant to lidocaine in intravenous regional anesthesia.

Purpose: The disadvantages of intravenous regional anesthesia (IVRA) include slow onset, poor muscle relaxation, tourniquet pain, and rapid onset of pain after tourniquet deflation. In this randomized, double-blind study, we evaluated the effect of nitroglycerin (NTG) in quality improvement when added to lidocaine in IVRA.
