A school's culture has been shown to influence medical students in their choice of future discipline. Therefore, we aimed to explore the culture towards the general practice discipline, as reflected in comments to medical students from their teachers and clinical tutors. Students in their 6th and 11th terms at the Universities of Umeå and Uppsala participated in a questionnaire study.

Combination of Searches for Higgs Boson Pair Production in pp Collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV with the ATLAS Detector.

This Letter presents results from a combination of searches for Higgs boson pair production using 126-140  fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13  TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector. At 95% confidence level (CL), the upper limit on the production rate is 2.9 times the standard model (SM) prediction, with an expected limit of 2.

Studies of the Energy Dependence of Diboson Polarization Fractions and the Radiation-Amplitude-Zero Effect in WZ Production with the ATLAS Detector.

This Letter presents the first study of the energy dependence of diboson polarization fractions in WZ→ℓνℓ^{'}ℓ^{'}(ℓ,ℓ^{'}=e,μ) production. The dataset used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 140  fb^{-1} of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV recorded by the ATLAS detector. Two fiducial regions with an enhanced presence of events featuring two longitudinally polarized bosons are defined.

In Region Sörmland, the burden of critical illness during the first wave of Covid-19 in april 2020 lead to a 25-fold increase in the number of patients requiring invasive mechanical ventilation. The decision was made that quantity should be prioritised before individual quality. This led to a highly standardised care during the intensive care period.

Long-Term Oxygen Therapy for 24 or 15 Hours per Day in Severe Hypoxemia.

Background: Long-term oxygen supplementation for at least 15 hours per day prolongs survival among patients with severe hypoxemia. On the basis of a nonrandomized comparison, long-term oxygen therapy has been recommended to be used for 24 hours per day, a more burdensome regimen.

Methods: To test the hypothesis that long-term oxygen therapy used for 24 hours per day does not result in a lower risk of hospitalization or death at 1 year than therapy for 15 hours per day, we conducted a multicenter, registry-based, randomized, controlled trial involving patients who were starting oxygen therapy for chronic, severe hypoxemia at rest.

Background: Venipuncture is one of the most commonly performed medical procedures in paediatric care, but it can also be one of the most painful and distressing experiences for patients. Finding effective strategies to manage pain and fear associated with venipuncture is crucial for improving the paediatric patient experience and promoting positive health outcomes. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of a combined approach using a topical analgesic cream (TKTX cream) and a distraction technique (Trace Image and Colouring for Kids-Book, TICK-B) in reducing pain intensity and fear levels in children undergoing venipuncture procedures.

Eating disorders are common disorders that cause significant suffering and functional impairment for those affected. They often emerge in adolescence and can go undetected for many years before an individual presents to services. Early diagnosis and treatment have been shown to significantly improve the prognosis, highlighting the need for proactive screening.

Children's participation in the development, use and evaluation of support interventions for children of a parent diagnosed with cancer: a scoping review protocol.

Introduction: At times of parental cancer, children's health and well-being are at risk, which is why interventions to support these children have been developed. When developing such interventions, engagement of the population under study in research is endorsed to enhance relevance of research questions and to enhance uptake and dissemination of the findings. Since no previous review has mapped the ways children participate in the development, use and evaluation of these support interventions, the focus of the upcoming scoping review is to identify gaps in the literature for guidance of future research.

Numerous patients stand to gain significant health benefits from enteral nutrition support facilitated by percutaneous feeding tubes. Consequently it is crucial for endoscopists, general practitioners, surgeons and neurologists to be well-versed with indications, contraindications and potential complications of PEG and other enteral feeding tubes. In this context we present a concise overview of the new national guidelines by the Swedish Society of Gastroenterology regarding the management of PEG and other enteral feeding tubes.

Optimizing post-synthetic metal incorporation in mixed-linker MOFs: insights from metalation studies on bipyridine-containing UiO-67 single crystals.

The postsynthetic metalation (PSM) of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with intrinsic metal binding sites is an intriguing strategy to introduce catalytic function into MOFs. The spatial distribution of the catalytic sites within the MOF crystal will affect the efficiency of the material, but the factors that govern depth distribution of the introduced metal sites are often not well understood. Herein, we employ Rutherford backscattering spectrometry (RBS) to investigate the metal distribution in a series of post-synthetically metalated mixed linker bpdc/BPY UiO-67 (UiO = Universitet i Oslo, bpdc = biphenyl-dicarboxylate, BPY = 2,2'-bipyridine-5,5'-dicarboxylate) single crystals as a function of linker ratio and metalation time.

[Intensive care after cardiac arrest - Swedish Resuscitation Council summarizes the new guidelines].

In Sweden 1600 patients/year survive cardiac arrest (30-day survival). Post-resuscitation care is complex and aims to stabilize organ function with focus on preventing secondary brain injury. In 2021 The European Resuscitation Council (ERC) and European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) published joint guidelines on post-resuscitation care.

Statistical Combination of ATLAS Run 2 Searches for Charginos and Neutralinos at the LHC.

Statistical combinations of searches for charginos and neutralinos using various decay channels are performed using 139  fb^{-1} of pp collision data at sqrt[s]=13  TeV with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Searches targeting pure-wino chargino pair production, pure-wino chargino-neutralino production, or Higgsino production decaying via standard model W, Z, or h bosons are combined to extend the mass reach to the produced supersymmetric particles by 30-100 GeV. The depth of the sensitivity of the original searches is also improved by the combinations, lowering the 95% C.

Nitrogen fixation in the widely distributed marine γ-proteobacterial diazotroph Thalassolituus haligoni.

The high diversity and global distribution of heterotrophic bacterial diazotrophs (HBDs) in the ocean has recently become apparent. However, understanding the role these largely uncultured microorganisms play in marine N fixation poses a challenge due to their undefined growth requirements and the complex regulation of the nitrogenase enzyme. We isolated and characterized Thalassolituus haligoni, a member of a widely distributed clade of HBD belonging to the Oceanospirillales.

Spatial Transcriptome Mapping of the Desmoplastic Growth Pattern of Colorectal Liver Metastases by In Situ Sequencing Reveals a Biologically Relevant Zonation of the Desmoplastic Rim.

Purpose: We describe the fibrotic rim formed in the desmoplastic histopathologic growth pattern (DHGP) of colorectal cancer liver metastasis (CLM) using in situ sequencing (ISS). The origin of the desmoplastic rim is still a matter of debate, and the detailed cellular organization has not yet been fully elucidated. Understanding the biology of the DHGP in CLM can lead to targeted treatment and improve survival.

Wing mechanics and acoustic communication of a new genus of sylvan katydid (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae: Pseudophyllinae) from the Central Cordillera cloud forest of Colombia.

Stridulation is used by male katydids to produce sound the rubbing together of their specialised forewings, either by sustained or interrupted sweeps of the file producing different tones and call structures. There are many species of Orthoptera that remain undescribed and their acoustic signals are unknown. This study aims to measure and quantify the mechanics of wing vibration, sound production and acoustic properties of the hearing system in a new genus of Pseudophyllinae with taxonomic descriptions of two new species.
