Background: Pregnancy exposure to titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiONPs) is a vital consideration due to their inadvertent ingestion from environmental contamination. The potential health effects of TiONPs on the neurodevelopmental process should be seriously concerned in health risk assessment, especially for the pregnant women who are susceptible to the neurodevelopmental toxicity of nano-sized particles. However, the available evidence of neurodevelopmental toxicity of TiONPs remains very limited.

Glioblastoma (GBM) remains the most lethal and common primary brain tumor, even after treatment with multiple therapies, such as surgical resection, chemotherapy, and radiation. Although great advances in medical development and improvements in therapeutic methods of GBM have led to a certain extension of the median survival time of patients, prognosis remains poor. The primary cause of its dismal outcomes is the high rate of tumor recurrence, which is closely related to its resistance to standard therapies.

Background: Systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) is a prognostic indicator for several malignancies, including pancreatic carcinoma; however, there is no consensus on its significance. In the current study, a systematic meta-analysis was used to explore the correlation between SII and prognosis in pancreatic carcinoma patients.

Methods: PubMed, Embase and Cochrane Library databases were screened from inception to May 2020.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common types of cancer, which is associated with a poor prognosis. It is necessary to identify novel prognostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets to improve the survival of patients with HCC. In the present study, a seven‑gene signature associated with HCC progression was identified using weighted gene co‑expression network analysis and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator, and its prognostic prediction value was confirmed in The Cancer Genome Atlas‑liver HCC and International Cancer Genome Consortium liver cancer‑RIKEN, Japan cohorts.

Background: MicroRNA-30a (miRNA-30a) levels have been shown to increase in the plasma of lung cancer patients. Herein, we evaluated the miRNA-30a levels in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) of lung cancer patients as a potential biomarker for lung cancer diagnosis.

Methods: BALF miRNA-30a expression of 174 subjects was quantified using quantitative real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and compared between lung cancer patients and control patients with benign lung diseases.
