Aims And Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the correlation between the remaining dentin thickness (RDT) in deep decayed primary molars and the inflammatory status and bacterial composition of the corresponding coronal pulp. We hypothesized that RDT could be used as a reference for clinicians in assigning the indication for pulpotomy.

Materials And Methods: Pulpotomies were conducted on the cameral pulp of 48 primary molars.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small noncoding RNAs of approximately 18 to 25 nucleotides in length that negatively regulate gene expression via either the degradation or translational inhibition of their target mRNAs. Because miRNAs are essential for the regulation of critical physiological processes as well as a variety of pathological events, they have emerged as a novel class of molecular diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic agents or targets. Accordingly, the need for novel methods for the quantification of miRNA has increased due to interest in their clinical implications.

Three bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloids were isolated for the first time from Stephania rotunda tuber. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods and their antiplasmodial activity was investigated in vitro on chloroquine resistant Plasmodium falciparum strain W2. These alkaloids were identified as 2-norcepharanthine (1), cepharanoline (2) and fangchinoline (3).

A reliable high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method coupled with photodiode array detection has been developed and validated for the determination of three major alkaloids: cepharanthine, tetrahydropalmatine and xylopinine in Stephania rotunda Lour. (Menispermaceae) collected in Cambodia. The chromatographic separation was carried out on a Symmetry C8 column (250 mm x 4.

We investigate the relationship between employability and obesity, particularly how obesity and overweight are associated with the percentage of working years spent unemployed and the ability to regain employment. Data for adults who responded to the 2003 Decennial Health Survey collected by the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies revealed that the percentage of time spent unemployed during working years is significantly higher for each kg/m2 deviation from the mean body mass index (BMI) attained at age 20 and that the probability of regaining employment after a period of unemployment is much lower.
