This study aims to enhance the classification accuracy of adverse events associated with the da Vinci surgical robot through advanced natural language processing techniques, thereby ensuring medical device safety and protecting patient health. Addressing the issues of incomplete and inconsistent adverse event records, we employed a deep learning model that combines BERT and BiLSTM to predict whether adverse event reports resulted in patient harm. We developed the Bert-BiLSTM-Att_dropout model specifically for text classification tasks with small datasets, optimizing the model's generalization ability and key information capture through the integration of dropout and attention mechanisms.

Kidney Chromophobe (KICH) is the third most prevalent renal malignancy, with research challenges due to a dearth of cell lines and clinical samples. There is no specific treatment regimen tailored exclusively for KICH. This study employed gene expression analysis, immunohistochemistry (IHC), Spearman's correlation, immune cell infiltration assessment, and molecular network construction to investigate the autophagy gene ATG10 in KICH.

The evolution of precursors to form secondary organic aerosol (SOA) is still a challenge in atmospheric chemistry. Chamber experiments were conducted to simulate the ambient OH oxidation of naphthalene and α-pinene, which are typical markers of anthropogenic and biogenic emissions. Particulate matters were sampled by quartz filters and were analyzed by comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC×GC) coupled with a thermal desorption system (TD) and a mass spectrometer (MS).

Due to the high theoretical energy density, lithium-carbon dioxide (Li-CO) batteries provide unique advantages when using CO to generate electricity. However, the issues with lithium dendrite generated by uneven deposition and quick cathode passivation continue to impede the development of Li-CO batteries. In this work, a Janus separator with dual functionalities is created using an in-situ growth and hydrothermal technique.

Background: Children with intellectual disabilities (ID) typically exhibit low levels of physical activity (PA) and delayed motor skills. Understanding the motor skill factors that influence PA participation in this population is essential for designing effective interventions. The purpose of this study was to examine the association between fundamental motor skills (FMS) and objectively measured PA among orphan children with severe ID residing in welfare institutions.

Accurate forecasting of energy consumption demand is crucial to optimize resources and achieve sustainable development goals. However, the energy system is affected by many factors, which are complex and highly uncertain. Therefore, a novel grey model (IBCFGMP (1,1,N)) is proposed, integrating multiple optimization techniques such as background value optimization, initial condition optimization, fractional-order accumulation optimization, and grey action quantity optimization.

Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensors have experienced rapid development in recent years and have been widely applied in various fields. Angular-interrogation SPR biosensors play an important role in the field of biological detection due to their advantages of reliable results and high stability. However, angular-interrogation SPR biosensors also suffer from low detection sensitivity, poor real-time performance, and limited dynamic detection range, which seriously restricts their application and promotion.

Oral delivery of macromolecular drugs is often hampered by the harsh gastrointestinal environment, which makes the drugs have poor bioavailability. Insulin, the most used drug for diabetes, also faces the same challenge for oral administration. Hence, we decorated microbial metabolite propionate on chitosan (CS) to fabricate insulin-loaded propionate-modified CS hydrogel nanoparticles (IN-CS/PA HNPs).

Background: Prosthetic socket is a key component of the prosthesis for clinical application; its performance directly affects the adaptation of the residual limb to the prosthetic socket. There are long-term and short-term volume fluctuation of the residual limb. The volume fluctuation of the residual limb will lead to the pressure mismatch at the interface of the residual limb and the prosthetic socket, which will cause a series of skin and fit problems.

To address the limitations of carbon nitride in photocatalysis, we propose constructing a three-dimensional interwoven SiC/g-CN composite structure. Utilizing the strong microwave-thermal conversion characteristics of SiC whiskers, localized "hot spots" are generated, which induce rapid thermal gradients, promoting rapid polymerization of urea and in situ formation of the interwoven network. This unique structure strengthens the interaction between these two components, creates multiple electron transport pathways, enhances CO adsorption, and effectively improves charge separation while reducing photogenerated carrier recombination.

Background: Cardiac macrophages are a heterogeneous population with high plasticity and adaptability, and their mechanisms in heart failure (HF) remain poorly elucidated.
Methods: We used single-cell and bulk RNA sequencing data to reveal the heterogeneity of non-cardiomyocytes and assess the immunoreactivity of each subpopulation. Additionally, we employed four integrated machine learning algorithms to identify macrophage-related genes with diagnostic value, and in vivo validation was performed.

Triclocarban (TCC) is a common antimicrobial agent that has been widely used in medical care. Given the close association between TCC treatment and metabolic disorders, we assessed whether long-term treatment to TCC at a human-relevant concentration could induce nephrotoxicity by disrupting the metabolic levels in a mouse model. Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry imaging (MALDI-MSI) was applied to investigate the alterations in the spatial distributions and abundances of TCC, endogenous and exogenous metabolites in the kidney after TCC treatment.

The adsorption-conversion paradigm of polysulfides during the sulfur reduction reaction (SRR) is appealing to tackle the shuttle effect in Li-S batteries, especially based upon atomically dispersed electrocatalysts. However, mechanistic insights into such catalytic systems remain ambiguous, limiting the understanding of sulfur electrochemistry and retarding the rational design of available catalysts. Herein, we systematically explore the polysulfide adsorption-conversion essence via a geminal-atom model system to understand the catalyst roles toward an expedited SRR.

Electrospun nanofibers produced through single-fluid blending processes have successfully demonstrated their potential as highly effective wound dressings. However, electrospun Janus nanofibers, in which various chambers can be designed to load different active pharmaceutical ingredients into different polymeric matrices, are further exhibiting their versatility for promoting wound healing. This commentary declares that wound dressings always need multiple functional performances to promote wound healing.

Aptamer conformations are susceptible to environmental conditions, which makes it difficult to achieve stable targets detection in complex environments with aptasensors. Imprinting strategy was proposed to immobilize the specific conformation of aptamers, aiming to enhance their recognition anti-interference. However, it is mechanistically unclear how the imprinted polymers affect aptamers' recognition, which limits application of the strategy.

Whether the catalyst can realize the non-CO pathway is the key to greatly improve the catalytic activity and stability of methanol oxidation reaction (MOR). It is feasible to optimize the reaction path selectivity by modifying organic ligands and constructing single-atom systems. At the same time, heterogeneous metal nanosheets with atomic thickness have been shown to significantly enhance the catalytic activity of materials due to their ultra-high exposure of active sites and synergistic effects.

The precise assessment of emotional states in animals under the combined influence of multiple stimuli remains a challenge in neuroscience research. In this study, multi-dimensional assessments, including high-precision pupil tracking and behavioral analysis, were conducted to investigate the combined effects of fear stimuli and drug manipulation on emotional responses in mice. Mice exposed to foot shocks showed typical freezing and flight behaviors, but neither of these measures could effectively distinguish between dexmedetomidine, isoflurane, and saline groups.

A novel electrochemiluminescence (ECL) biosensor was developed for the ultrasensitive detection of miRNA-155, based on the synergistic combination of multifunctional nanomaterials. The biosensor employed a conductive metal-organic framework (MOF), Ni(HAB) (HAB = hexaaminobenzene), as the substrate material. The unique π-electron conjugated structure of Ni(HAB) endowed the biosensor with excellent electron transport properties, significantly enhancing its sensitivity.
