Patients with metastatic brain melanomas (MBM) experience shorter-lasting survival than patients with extracranial metastases, and this is associated with a higher fraction of dysfunctional CD8 T cells. The goal of this study was to understand the underlying cause of T cell dysfunction in MBM. To accomplish this, we compared murine B16 melanomas implanted intracranially (IC) or subcutaneously (SC).

Background: Despite the promise of mail-based human papillomavirus (HPV) self-collection programs for increasing cervical cancer screening, few have been evaluated in the United States. We report the results of a mail-based HPV self-collection program for underscreened women living in Appalachia.
Methods: We conducted a group randomized trial from 2021 to 2022 in the Appalachian regions of Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia, and West Virgnia.

Photoacoustic (PA) imaging is a powerful biomedical imaging modality. We designed KeTMR and KeJuR, two xanthene-based dyes that were readily obtained through a 2-step synthetic route. KeJuR has low molecular weight, good aqueous solubility, and superior chemical stability compared to KeTMR.
