This study considers Timoshenko beam theory and the isogeometric analysis method to investigate the free vibration and buckling of axially functionally graded (AFG) tapered beams. The governing equations are obtained from the kinematic assumptions of Timoshenko beam theory and Hamilton's principle. The isogeometric analysis approach is implemented to solve the motion equations.

This review assesses the burden of human papillomavirus (HPV)-related cancers in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BH), aiming to inform strategies for prevention and early detection. Despite the availability of highly effective HPV vaccines and screening programs, HPV-related cancers remain a significant public health burden worldwide. We conducted a comprehensive search of PubMed and GLOBOCAN to identify all available data on HPV prevalence/genotype and HPV-related malignancies in BH, including information on HPV vaccination and cervical cancer screening.

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is associated with systemic complications, including the development of pulmonary injury, characterized mainly by excessive accumulation of extracellular matrix components and inflammatory cell infiltration in lung tissue. This process is driven by oxidative stress and chronic inflammation, both caused and exacerbated by hyperglycemia. N-acetylcysteine (NAC) and glycine, known for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, offer potential therapeutic benefits in mitigating diabetes-induced lung injury.

Atrial septal defects (ASD) divert flow from systemic to pulmonary circulation, and some degree of plasma volume expansion and neurohormonal activation are necessary to maintain the effective circulatory volume. Purpose: To predict oncological outcomes and select appropriate treatments for non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC), pre-treatment predictors such as neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) are being used. This study aims to evaluate whether NLR is an independent predictor of disease and disease recurrence in NMIBC patients.

Methods: In this prospective clinical study, from March 2018 to March 2023, preoperative NLR values were monitored in 99 patients newly diagnosed with NMIBC, who were initially treated with trans-urethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT) and adjuvant intravesical therapy.
