Does the absence or presence of sleep spindles on EEG have prognostic value for cognitive outcome in children with infantile epileptic spasms syndrome? A systematic literature review.

Infantile Epileptic Spasms Syndrome (IESS) is an epileptic encephalopathy in childhood that affects infants under the age of two years. When spasm series occur, prognosis for cognitive outcome is poor in the majority of cases. The encephalopathy in IESS includes delayed maturation of normal sleep phenomena in the EEG, such as sleep spindles.

Precision measurements of the RSA method using a phantom model of hip prosthesis.

Radiostereometric analysis (RSA) has become one of the recommended techniques for pre-market evaluation of new joint implant designs. In this study we evaluated the effect of repositioning of X-ray tubes and phantom model on the precision of the RSA method. In precision measurements, we utilized mean error of rigid body fitting (ME) values as an internal control for examinations.

Immunohistochemical labelling for prostate-specific antigen in breast carcinomas.

Immunohistochemical detection of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) is an aid in determining the prostatic origin of metastatic cells. However, small amounts of PSA have also been found in non-prostatic tissues and tumors, for example in some breast carcinomas, by highly sensitive immunofluorometric methods, but also by immunohistochemistry. Our aim was to evaluate the prevalence and prognostic value of histologically confirmed PSA immunoreactivity in breast carcinoma.
