Electrolyte solutions containing Fe/Fe are suitable for liquid thermoelectric conversion devices (LTEs), because they are inexpensive materials and exhibit a high electrochemical Seebeck coefficient . Here, we investigated the concentration () dependence of resistance components, , solvent (), charge-transfer (), and diffusion () resistances, of dissolved-Fe/Fe-containing aqueous, methanol (MeOH), acetone, and propylene carbonate (PC) solutions. We found that the dependence of and are well reproduced by empirical formulas, and , where () is viscosity at .

Patients And Methods: This retrospective multi-institutional database study included two cohorts-3024 patients receiving intravesical bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) treatment (BCG cohort) and 789 patients not receiving BCG treatment (non-BCG cohort). The Kaplan-Meier estimate and log-rank test were used to visualize and compare oncological survival outcomes after transurethral surgery among the risk groups.

Proton (H) release is linked to aluminum (Al)-enhanced organic acids (OAs) excretion from the roots under Al rhizotoxicity in plants. It is well-reported that the Al-enhanced organic acid excretion mechanism is regulated by SENSITIVE TO PROTON RHIZOTOXICITY1 (STOP1), a zinc-finger TF that regulates major Al tolerance genes. However, the mechanism of H release linked to OAs excretion under Al stress has not been fully elucidated.

Introduction: Insufficient evidence exists on the sex-specific associations of body mass index (BMI) and weight change through midlife with dementia incidence, especially in Asian populations.
Methods: For 37,414 Japanese residents aged 40 to 59 years, BMIs at baseline (year 1990 or 1993) and 10-year follow-ups were obtained. Weight changes between baseline and 10-year follow-ups were determined.

We have successfully applied a bump-and-hole approach to establish orthogonal deubiquitination in which a ubiquitin substrate variant is specifically targeted by an engineered deubiquitinating enzyme (DUB). This makes it possibe to selectively observe and measure a single type of DUB activity in living cells.

Considering ongoing global warming may change the distribution range and diurnal activity of pollinators, it is necessary to describe current geographic and diurnal patterns. We clarified pollinators of Duchesne (Cucurbitales: Cucurbitaceae) in three geographically distinct (>350 km, minimum) areas in Japan, focusing on diurnal variation.

The surface concentrations of PM total mass, Fe, Cu, and Zn in the urban area decreased by 8%, 13%, 18%, and 5%, respectively. Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) have been considered to have no advantage in terms of non-exhaust PM emissions by previous studies.

Animal-mediated pollination is an essential ecosystem service for the production of many fruit trees. To reveal the community composition of flower-visiting wild insects which potentially contribute to fruit production and to examine the effects of geographic location, local meteorological conditions and locally introduced domesticated pollinators on them, we investigated the community composition of insects visiting the flowers (hereafter, "visitors") of apple, Japanese pear and Oriental persimmon for 1‒3 years at 20 sites around Japan. While most of the variation (82%) of the community composition was explained by tree species with a slight contribution by geographic distance (2%), maximum temperature and tree species contributed 62% and 41% of the variation in total abundance of the visitors, respectively.

Aim: To investigate the risk factors for postoperative delirium among elderly patients undergoing elective surgery for gastroenterological cancer.
Methods: From May 2020 to March 2022, patients ≥75 years old with gastroenterological cancer who underwent radical surgery were enrolled. The geriatric assessment, including evaluations of frailty, physical function, nutrition status, and cognitive function, was conducted preoperatively.

Aim: We attempted to convert a simulation course held on-site for primary care physicians to learn about the initial treatment of minor emergencies, including some common surgical procedures, to an online format.
Methods: We reviewed the subjects covered in the course and evaluated whether it was "decision-making" or "technical skills" that had been primarily taught as simulation-based training for each subject, and then supplemented the contents accordingly.
Results: As a result, satisfaction levels with the online course were comparable to those with the on-site course as measured by a postcourse questionnaire (97.

This study explores a water-splitting activity using a biphasic electrodeposited electrode on nickel foam (NF). The *NiS/CuS/NF electrode with citric acid reduction exhibits superior OER (oxygen evolution reaction) and HER (hydrogen evolution reaction) performance with reduced overpotential and a steeper Tafel slope. The *NiS/CuS/NF electrode displays the ultra-low overpotential value of 212 mV for OER and 109 mV for HER at the current density of 10 mA cm.

Background: Few studies have examined whether family caregivers' own primary care providers can affect caregiving-specific well-being, such as caregiver stress. In this pilot study, we explored whether primary care experiences when family caregivers report as patients were associated with the stress of caregiving.
Methods: We used cross-sectional data from a survey conducted in Japan between November and December 2020.

This study represents a green synthesis method for fabricating an oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrode by depositing two-dimensional CuFeO on nickel foam (NF). Two-dimensional CuFeO was deposited on NF using hydrothermal synthesis in the presence of extract. This phytochemical-assisted synthesis of CuFeO resulted in a unique nano-rose-like morphology (petal diameter 30-70 nm), which significantly improved the electrochemical surface area of the electrode.

Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) is an evidence-based medical service for patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI); however, its implementation is inadequate. We investigated the provision status and equality of CR by hospitals in Japan using a comprehensive nationwide claims database. We analyzed data from the National Database of Health Insurance Claims and Specific Health Checkups in Japan for the period April 2014-March 2016.

NiO as a hole transport layer (HTL) has gained a lot of research interest in perovskite solar cells (PSCs), owing to its high optical transmittance, high power conversion efficiency, wide band-gap and ease of fabrication. In this work, four different nickel based-metal organic frameworks (MOFs) using 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid (BTC), terephthalic acid (TPA), 2-aminoterephthalic acid (ATPA), and 2,5-dihydroxyterephthalic acid (DHTPA) ligands respectively, have been employed as precursors to synthesize NiO NPs. The employment of different ligands was found to result in NiO NPs with different structural, optical and morphological properties.

Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) is clinically important because of its poor prognosis. The incidence of CIN is higher in emergency than elective percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) because there is no established method to prevent CIN. The aim of this study is to evaluate whether bolus administration of a concentrated solution of sodium bicarbonate can prevent CIN in patients undergoing emergency PCI.

Background: For family caregivers, who are generally regarded as a vulnerable population, having regular checkups is a desirable health behavior. This study examined family caregivers' habit of having regular checkups prior to becoming involved with professionals who care for patients, and whether they had had recent checkups. We then examined the association between family caregivers' experience with professionals and their participation in checkups after adjusting for the past habit.
