Rationale: Cardiotoxic β adrenergic receptor (βAR)-CaMKII (calmodulin-dependent kinase II) signaling is a major and critical feature associated with development of heart failure. SAP97 (synapse-associated protein 97) is a multifunctional scaffold protein that binds directly to the C-terminus of βAR and organizes a receptor signalosome.
Objective: We aim to elucidate the dynamics of βAR-SAP97 signalosome and its potential role in chronic cardiotoxic βAR-CaMKII signaling that contributes to development of heart failure.

To evaluate the clinical outcomes of on-pump total arterial revascularization with bilateral radial artery (BRA) and left internal mammary artery (LIMA) as conduits in coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) patients with left ventricular dysfunction (LVD). All the perioperative medical records and follow-up results of coronary artery disease patients with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) ≤ 40% undergoing CABG from 24 heart centers of 15 provinces and autonomous regions in China between July 2015 and December 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. A total of 87 consecutive patients (55 males and 32 females) underwent on-pump CABG with BRA and LIMA, with a mean age of (57.

FUS is a nucleic acid binding protein that, when mutated, cause a subset of familial amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Expression of FUS in yeast recapitulates several pathological features of the disease-causing mutant proteins, including nuclear to cytoplasmic translocation, formation of cytoplasmic inclusions, and cytotoxicity. Genetic screens using the yeast model of FUS have identified yeast genes and their corresponding human homologs suppressing FUS induced toxicity in yeast, neurons and animal models.

Ginseng has effects in reinforcing vital energy, invigorating health effectively and relieving fatigue symptoms, and ginsenoside( GS) is the main component of its anti-fatigue effect. Totally 17 active components and 92 drug targets of ginseng compounds were screened from Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology; and 78 intersecting genes of diseases and drug targets were obtained based on R Language Technology. The protein-protein interaction( PPI) network was constructed by STRING 11.

Background And Purpose: Lipopolysaccharides (LPS), an outer membrane component of Gram-negative bacteria, triggers myocardial anomalies in sepsis. Recent findings indicated a role for inflammatory cytokine MIF and its receptor, CD74, in septic organ injury, although little is known of the role of MIF-CD74 in septic cardiomyopathy.
Experimental Approach: This study evaluated the impact of CD74 ablation on endotoxaemia-induced cardiac anomalies.

A rapid and simple method has been developed for the screening and identification of natural antioxidants from the leaves of Maxim (AG). The process is that upon reaction with 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), the white yellow spots of compounds with potential antioxidant effects will be significantly observed on the thin-layer chromatography (TLC), and possible structures will be presumed by the ESI/MS technique. Using the improved approach, 6 compounds in the AG extract were found to possess a potential antioxidant activity.

Toosendanin (TSN), a compound from Melia toosendan, exhibits severe hepatotoxicity, which restricts its clinical application. However, the mechanism is not clear. Our previous research found that covalent modification of TSN for proteins might be a possible reason using human liver microsomes, and the glycolytic enzymes, triosephosphate isomerase 1 (TPIS) and α-enolase (ENOA), were responsible for the hepatotoxicity.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs or miRs) are reported to be dysregulated in the progression and invasion of various human cancer types, including colorectal cancer (CRC). They are also reported to be molecular biomarkers and therapeutic targets in CRC. miRNAs serve functions in a plethora of biological processes, including proliferation, migration, invasion and apoptosis, and several miRNAs have been demonstrated to be involved in CRC carcinogenesis, invasion and metastasis.

Background: Cell-based therapy by transplantation of nucleus pulposus (NP) progenitor/notochordal cells has been proposed as a promising way to halt and reverse the progression of disc degeneration. Although some studies have provided a broad panel of potential markers associated with the phenotype of notochordal cells, suitability of these markers for isolation of notochordal cells for the treatment of disc degeneration is unclear.
Results: Here, we found that the number of CD24-positive NP cells significantly decreased with increasing severity of disc degeneration.
