To mitigate barriers to care among youth (12-25 years), community-based organizations have increasingly integrated peer support as a complement to clinical mental health care; however, information regarding the integration process is lacking. To explore organizational perspectives regarding the contexts and mechanisms underlying integration of peer support for youth accessing mental health services from community-based, youth-serving organizations. Representatives from community-based youth-serving organizations completed a survey describing the contexts in which they are located and their experiences integrating peer support.

Generation of deep learning based virtual non-contrast CT using dual-layer dual-energy CT and its application to planning CT for radiotherapy.

This paper presents a novel approach for generating virtual non-contrast planning computed tomography (VNC-pCT) images from contrast-enhanced planning CT (CE-pCT) scans using a deep learning model. Unlike previous studies, which often lacked sufficient data pairs of contrast-enhanced and non-contrast CT images, we trained our model on dual-energy CT (DECT) images, using virtual non-contrast CT (VNC CT) images as outputs instead of true non-contrast CT images. We used a deterministic method to convert CE-pCT images into pseudo DECT images for model application.

Hospital and physician-based mental healthcare during 12 months of opioid agonist treatment for opioid use disorder: Exploring costs and factors associated with acute care.

Background: Individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD) have a high prevalence of co-occurring mental health disorders; however, there exists little information on mental health service use for this population. We aimed to determine the prevalence of non-substance use-related mental health emergency department (ED) visits, hospitalizations, and outpatient physician visits for individuals receiving treatment for OUD over one year. We also explored individual-level characteristics associated with mental health care service use and estimated the costs of this care.

Comparing subsampling strategies for metagenomic analysis in microbial studies using amplicon sequence variants versus operational taxonomic units.

The microbiome is increasingly regarded as a key component of human health, and analysis of microbiome data can aid in the development of precision medicine. Due to the high cost of shotgun metagenomic sequencing (SM-seq), microbiome analyses can be done cost-effectively in two phases: Phase 1-sequencing of 16S ribosomal RNA, and Phase 2-SM-seq of an informative subsample.
