Objective: Osteoradionecrosis (ORN) of the mandible is a devastating complication of external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). We sought to ascertain ORN risk in a Veteran HNSCC population treatment with definitive or adjuvant EBRT and followed prospectively.

Study Design: Retrospective analysis of prospective cohort.

Therapeutic resistance is the major challenge in clinic for patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), an aggressive subtype of B-cell lymphoma. In addition to the FDA-approved Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitors, multiple clinical trials have demonstrated clinical benefits in targeting BCL-2 by venetoclax and reported to greatly improve clinical outcome for refractory/relapsed patients with MCL alone or in combination with BTK inhibitors. However, resistance to venetoclax is no exception and marks as a new clinic challenge.

A 42-year-old female patient with a history of cervicothoracic junction meningioma World Health Organization grade I, resected in early 2011, was admitted to the hospital with intractable headache and lower extremity weakness. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed an epidural mass compressing the spinal cord at the prior surgical site, which was interpreted as recurrent meningioma. Following surgical resection, histopathological analysis revealed desmoid fibromatosis (desmoid tumor).

Introduction: Exploratory analysis of clinical trials in various tumor types have demonstrated potential improvements in overall response rate (ORR) to chemotherapy after exposure to vaccine-based immunotherapy. The objective of this retrospective study was to determine if single-agent chemotherapy (3rd-line or beyond) would yield improved ORR when given after exposure to programmed death-(ligand)1 inhibitors (anti-PD1) in metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Materials And Methods: We queried the Thoracic GEMINI database of MD Anderson Cancer Center for patients treated between 06/12 and 11/16 who received at least one single-agent chemotherapy as 3rd-line or beyond, following progression after platinum-based chemotherapy and anti-PD1.

Department of Neuro-Oncology, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center 1515 Holcombe Blvd., Unit 431, Houston, TX 77030 USA.

Glioblastoma is the most common and most aggressive primary brain tumor in adults. Optimized standard treatment only confers a modest improvement in progression and overall survival, underscoring the pressing need for the development of novel therapies. Our understanding of glioblastoma (a molecularly heterogeneous disorder) has been accelerated in the setting of large scale genomic analyses, lending insight into potential actionable targets.

The development of miRNA-based therapeutics represents a new strategy in cancer treatment. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the differential expression of microRNAs in gallbladder cancer (GBC) and to assess the functional role of miR-1 and miR-145 in GBC cell behavior. A profile of miRNA expression was determined using DharmaconTM microarray technology.

A new signal processing method for PET application has been developed, with discrete circuit components to measure energy and timing of a gamma interaction based solely on digital timing processing without using an amplitude-to-digital convertor (ADC) or a constant fraction discriminator (CFD). A single channel discrete component time-based readout (TBR) circuit was implemented in a PC board. Initial circuit functionality and performance evaluations have been conducted.
