Match performance data were aligned with the confirmed travel durations, time-zone change, travel direction, and time between arrival and kickoff for the travel to the match.

Background: Genomic sequencing technology allows for identification of reproductive couples with an increased chance, as compared with that in the general population, of having a child with an autosomal recessive or X-linked genetic condition.

Methods: We investigated the feasibility, acceptability, and outcomes of a nationwide, couple-based genetic carrier screening program in Australia as part of the Mackenzie's Mission project. Health care providers offered screening to persons before pregnancy or early in pregnancy.

Aquatic organisms may frequently be exposed to short-term discharges of contaminants, including those from pesticide use, stormwater runoff, or industrial effluents entering waterways. Here, a new microalgal multispecies flow cytometry-based bioassay is used to assess knowledge gaps in risk assessments posed by the short-term exposure of organisms to contaminants. The toxicities of atrazine, metolachlor, and copper were assessed using four exposure scenarios, a 72 h exposure (continuous), an 18 h pulse exposure, and two 3 h pulse exposures (light and dark conditions), that assessed chronotoxicity.

The imino acid azetidine-2-carboxylic acid (A2C), a proline homologue, was first identified in liliaceous plants in 1955. Its ability to exchange for proline in protein synthesis is responsible for its teratogenic effects and has made it a very useful tool for generating non-native proteins to study proteotoxic stress and ER stress. The tRNA synthetases from some A2C-producing plants can discriminate between proline and A2C, but for most plants and for mammalian cells, A2C is mistakenly used in protein synthesis in place of proline and can avoid cell proof-reading mechanisms.
