In this paper we demonstrate that Pt(ii) complexes can function as efficient transmembrane chloride transporters. A series of Pt(ii) metal complexes with urea-appended isoquinoline ligands were synthesised and operate classical hydrogen bonding interactions rather than ligand exchange. A number of the complexes exhibited potent transmembrane chloride activity in vesicle studies, while also showing strong antiproliferative activity in cisplatin-resistant cell lines induction of apoptosis and inhibition of intracellular ROS.

The accuracy of image segmentation is critical for quantitative analysis. We report a lightweight network FRUNet based on the U-Net, which combines the advantages of Fourier channel attention (FCA Block) and Residual unit to improve the accuracy. FCA Block automatically assigns the weight of the learned frequency information to the spatial domain, paying more attention to the precise high-frequency information of diverse biomedical images.

Peptide-based nanofibres are a versatile class of tunable materials with applications in optoelectronics, sensing and tissue engineering. However, the understanding of the nanofibre surface at the molecular level is limited. Here, a series of homologous dilysine-diphenylalnine tetrapeptides were synthesised and shown to self-assemble into water-soluble nanofibres.
