The ability of mucoadhesive gingival patch loaded with EGCG on IL-6 and IL-10 expression in periodontitis.

Objectives: The mucoadhesive gingival patch is a topical drug delivery process it does not cause any irritation in the mucosa. EGCG (Epigallocatechin-3-gallate) it has potent antioxidant, antiangiogenic and antitumor effects. The present study investigates the ability of mucoadhesive gingival patch loaded with EGCG on periodontitis and its impact on IL-6 and IL-10 expression.

Synthesis of Green Recyclable Magnetic Iron Oxide Nanomaterials Coated by Hydrophobic Plant Extracts for Efficient Collection of Oil Spills.

A facile method for synthesis of environmentally friendly magnetite nanomaterials (MNMs) was applied using hydrophobic biocomponents as capping and stabilizing agents. The biocomponents were extracted from (MAE) and (OBE) and used for the surface modification of MNMs to increase their dispersion efficiency on the collection of heavy crude oil spills. Synthesized MNM samples (MAE-MNMs and OBE-MNMs) were verified using thermogravimetric analysis; Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy; transmission electron microscopy; dynamic light scattering, and vibrating-sample magnetometry.

Green Synthesis of Hydrophobic Magnetite Nanoparticles Coated with Plant Extract and Their Application as Petroleum Oil Spill Collectors.

In this study, an easy, rapid and eco-friendly method was used successfully to synthesize the magnetite nanoparticles (MNPs). In order to fine-tune the synthesized MNPs for the collection of heavy crude oil spills, the particles' surface was modified with green hydrophobic biocomponents that were extracted from (AP). The surface modified reaction carried with that of the MNPs in the presence of -hexane extract (APH) resulted in the formation of APH-MNPs, while in the presence of chloroform extract (APC), resulted in APC-MNPs formation.

Iron deficiency in Yemeni patients with sickle-cell disease.

Despite the general view that patients with sickle-cell disease (SCD) have iron overload, there are reports of iron deficiency in a proportion of these patients. We studied Yemeni patients aged 1-30 years with homozygous SCD to determine their iron status using a set of 4 criteria (low serum iron, low transferrin saturation, high total iron binding capacity and low mean corpuscular volume for age). Of the 75 patients, 44 had never been transfused while 31 patients had received blood transfusions but not during the 3-month period prior to the study.

Incidence and prevalence of Eimeria infection among the hedgehog, Hemiechinus auritus in Yemen.

Fecal samples of ten hedgehogs, Hemiechinus auritus from Taiz Governorate, Yemen were examined for coccidian parasites. Four (40%) were infected with Eimeria spp. Comparison of oocyst's criteria with other species of Eimeria indicated a new eimerian, E.
