Introduction: As the prevalence of Long COVID increases, there is a critical need for a comprehensive assessment of disability. Our aims are to: (1) characterise disability experiences among people living with Long COVID in Canada, UK, USA and Ireland; and (2) develop a patient-reported outcome measure to assess the presence, severity and episodic nature of disability with Long COVID.

Methods And Analysis: In phase 1, we will conduct semistructured interviews with adults living with Long COVID to explore experiences of disability (dimensions, uncertainty, trajectories, influencing contextual factors) and establish an episodic disability (ED) framework in the context of Long COVID (n~10 each country).

With many plant-pollinator interactions undergoing change as species' distributions shift, we require a better understanding of how the addition of new interacting partners can affect plant reproduction. One such group of floral visitors, nectar robbers, can deplete plants of nectar rewards without contributing to pollination. The addition of nectar robbing to the floral visitor assemblage could therefore have costs to the plant´s reproductive output.

Fungal infections represent a global problem, notably for immunocompromised patients in hospital, COVID-19 patient wards and care home settings, and the ever-increasing emergence of multidrug resistant fungal strains is a sword of Damocles hanging over many healthcare systems. Azoles represent the mainstay of antifungal drugs, and their mode of action involves the binding mode of these molecules to the fungal lanosterol 14α-demethylase target enzyme. In this study, we have prepared and characterized four novel organometallic derivatives of the frontline antifungal drug fluconazole ().

Background: This trial tested if a novel therapy, Aligning Dimensions of Interoceptive Experience (ADIE), reduces anxiety in autistic adults. ADIE targets the association of anxiety with mismatch between subjective and behavioral measures of an individual's ve to bodily signals, including heartbeats.

Methods: In this superiority randomized controlled trial, autistic adults (18-65 years) from clinical and community settings in Southern England were randomly assigned (1:1) to receive six sessions of ADIE or an active 'exteroceptive' control therapy (emotional prosody identification).

Doubly base-stabilised cyano- and isothiocyanatoborylenes of the form LL'BY (L = CAAC = cyclic alkyl(amino)carbene; L' = NHC = N-heterocyclic carbene; Y = CN, NCS) coordinate to group 6 carbonyl complexes the terminal donor of the pseudohalide substituent and undergo facile and fully reversible one-electron oxidation to the corresponding boryl radical cations [LL'BY]˙. Furthermore, calculations show that the borylenes have very similar proton affinities, both to each other and to NHC superbases. However, while the protonation of LL'B(CN) with PhSH yielding [LL'BH(CN)][PhS] is fully reversible, that of LL'B(NCS) is rendered irreversible by a subsequent B-to-C hydrogen shift and nucleophilic attack of PhS at boron.

Centro de Biodiversidad y Descubrimiento de Drogas Instituto de Investigaciones Científicas y Servicios de Alta Tecnología (INDICASAT AIP) Clayton República de Panamá.

Antagonistic interactions between host and parasites are often embedded in networks of interacting species, in which hosts may be attacked by competing parasites species, and parasites may infect more than one host species. To better understand the evolution of host defenses and parasite counterdefenses in the context of a multihost, multiparasite system, we studied two sympatric species, of congeneric fungus-growing ants (Attini) species and their symbiotic fungal cultivars, which are attacked by multiple morphotypes of parasitic fungi in the genus, . To assess whether closely related ant species and their cultured fungi are evolving defenses against the same or different parasitic strains, we characterized that were isolated from colonies of sympatric and .

The carabids of the tribe Platynini from the southern Levant (Egypt: Sinai Peninsula, Israel, Jordan) and adjacent regions of Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia are reviewed in terms of species taxonomy, ecological, distributional traits, and conservation biology. In addition to a classical dichotomous identification key to the 14 species of the region, identification tools are made freely available via the Xper3 knowledge database "Platynini, southern Levant". Besides an interactive identification key, a matrix with character states for the species and single access identification keys are available.

This study considers commons-based peer production (CBPP) by examining the organizational processes of the free/libre open-source software community, Drupal. It does so by exploring the sociotechnical systems that have emerged around both Drupal's development and its face-to-face communitarian events. There has been criticism of the simplistic nature of previous research into free software; this study addresses this by linking studies of CBPP with a qualitative study of Drupal's organizational processes.

In recent years, the question of how to fabricate conductive patterns on complex ceramic surfaces in a high-definition and low-cost manner has been an increasing challenge. This paper presents a complete process chain for the selective metallization of AlO ceramic surfaces based on 3D printing. Laser pre-activation (LPA) is used to "activate" the surface of the ceramic substrate, and then, combined with the electroless copper plating (ECP) process, the AlO substrates can be metalized with preset patterns at room temperature, and a densely packed copper layer with high accuracy and good reproducibility can be obtained.

The calcium-activated chloride channel (CaCC) TMEM16A enables chloride secretion across several transporting epithelia, including in the airways. Additional roles for TMEM16A have been proposed, which include regulating mucus production and secretion and stimulating smooth muscle contraction. The aim of the present study was to test whether the pharmacological regulation of TMEM16A channel function, could affect any of these proposed biological roles in the airways.

High quality opal-like photonic crystals containing graphene are fabricated using evaporation-driven self-assembly of soft polymer colloids. A miniscule amount of pristine graphene within a colloidal crystal lattice results in the formation of colloidal crystals with a strong angle-dependent structural color and a stop band that can be reversibly shifted across the visible spectrum. The crystals can be mechanically deformed or can reversibly change color as a function of their temperature, hence their sensitive mechanochromic and thermochromic response make them attractive candidates for a wide range of visual sensing applications.

Social insects have evolved enormous capacities to collectively build nests and defend their colonies against both predators and pathogens. The latter is achieved by a combination of individual immune responses and sophisticated collective behavioral and organizational disease defenses, that is, social immunity. We investigated how the presence or absence of these social defense lines affects individual-level immunity in ant queens after bacterial infection.
