The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) on muscle rheological and functional properties in a population of young athletes. Thirty-two football and basketball players were recruited and randomized into two groups. The athletes underwent three sessions of therapy administered every five days to the thigh muscles.

Methods: To date, the research for natural antioxidants as alternative to synthetic products is of great interest among scientists. The present review emphasizes the importance of knowing the content and the quality of phenolic compounds present in natural ingredients.

Extra-articular chondromatosis of flexor and extensor compartments of the hand: Case report and review of literature.

Objectives: Tenosynovial chondromatosis is an uncommon type of chondro-dysplasia of synovial and connective tissue. We report a case of a patient with a primary right wrist extra-articular chondromatosis extending to the flexor and the extensor compartments.

Methods: Until now, there has been no study describing double surgical access for such a case.

Short term efficacy of capacitive-resistive diathermy therapy in patients with low back pain: a prospective randomized controlled trial.

To compare the effectiveness of Doctor Tecar TherapyTM with that of laser therapy in the management of low back pain (LBP), a total of 60 patients with LBP were enrolled. The participants were randomly divided into two groups: a Tecar group (experimental group, 30 subjects), and a laser group (control group, 30 subjects). All the subjects received 10 sessions of therapy: one each day from Monday to Friday and the same again the following week.

Lead biosorption of probiotic bacteria: effects of the intestinal content from laying hens.

This study investigated the effects and the possible mechanisms of intestinal content (IC) from laying hens on in vitro lead (Pb) biosorption of four probiotic bacterial strains (Bifidobacterium longum BB79, Lactobacillus paracasei Kgl6, Lactobacillus pentosus ITA23, and Lactobacillus acidipiscis ITA44). The total Pb removal capacity of the four probiotic strains, with and without capsule polysaccharides (CPSs), increased in the presence of IC compared to the control (without IC). SEM imaging revealed certain unidentified particles from the IC adhered on the surface of bacterial cells sorted out using flow cytometry.

Nevertheless, differences between the various light waves of HELT have not yet been fully researched. Sixty-six patients with lower back pain were treated using a high energy laser therapy.

The effects of treatment with shock waves (SW) on osteoblastic cells have already been described. Furthermore, the effects of treatment with SW are also determined by the contextual stimulation of other cell lines, in particular of mesenchymal cells. One of the environmental challenges that modern poultry industry faced is odor pollution caused by ammonia emission. The objectives of the study were to determine the effect of sodium butyrate on the production of ammonia in the cecal contents of laying hens using in vitro gas production study and to elucidate the mechanism behind it. The study consisted of a control (without sodium butyrate), and three experimental groups added with 10, 15, and 20 mg of sodium butyrate, respectively.

Methylsulfonylmethane and boswellic acids versus glucosamine sulfate in the treatment of knee arthritis: Randomized trial.

Until now glucosamine sulfate (GS) has been the most widely used supplement and has been shown to be efficacious in the treatment of osteoarthritis (OA).
