The Sichuan golden snub-nosed monkey (Rhinopithecus roxellana) was found to possess significant scientific and conservation value but faced multiple threats including habitat fragmentation and loss, human disturbance, illegal hunting, and the impacts of climate change on their habitat. To enhance habitat protection for this species, our study utilized field survey data and distribution records from protected areas to systematically evaluate spatial heterogeneity in suitable habitat distribution and habitat quality in Sichuan Province. Integration of 3S technology and ecological modeling allowed for a comprehensive assessment.

Saline-alkaline stress is a major factor limiting agricultural development, with calcium (Ca) playing a role in regulating plant tolerance through multiple signaling pathways. However, the specific mechanisms by which Ca mediates saline-alkaline stress tolerance at the molecular level remain incompletely understood. This study investigates the effects of exogenous Ca application on enhancing plant tolerance to saline-alkaline stress, focusing on its impact on the antioxidant system and Ca and reactive oxygen species (ROS) signaling pathways.

Observational studies have reported an association between gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and endometriosis. We conducted a two-sample and bidirectional Mendelian randomization analysis to determine whether those associations are causal. Two-sample and bidirectional MR analyses were performed using summary statistics from the European Individual Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS).

Flavonoids possess antioxidant properties and are crucial in enhancing plant resistance to abiotic stress. Exogenous calcium has been found to regulate the biosynthesis and accumulation of secondary metabolites, including flavonoids. However, the mechanism by which exogenous calcium influences flavonoid regulation in peanut roots under salt stress remains unclear.

Introduction: The CDO1 gene is an important gene in the taurine synthesis pathway and has been observed to have high expression in ovaries of female mammals. This study aims to explore the conservation of CDO1 gene in domestic yaks, as well as to examine the fundamental characteristics of CDO1 gene and its expression in female yaks.
Methods: Ovarian samples were collected from yaks in the follicular phase, luteal phase and gestation period in this experiment, and their total RNA and protein were extracted.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is widely used in clinical diagnosis as a safe, non-invasive, high-resolution medical imaging technology, but long scanning time has been a major challenge for this technology. The undersampling reconstruction method has become an important technical means to accelerate MRI by reducing the data sampling rate while maintaining high-quality imaging. However, traditional undersampling reconstruction techniques such as compressed sensing mainly rely on relatively single sparse or low-rank prior information to reconstruct the image, which has limitations in capturing the comprehensive features of images, resulting in the insufficient performance of the reconstructed image in terms of details and key information.

Not all antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) pose an ecological risk to their host animals. A standard should be developed to study which types of ARGs posed an ecological risk to wild animals under human disturbances (HDs). In this study, the golden snub-nosed monkeys (Rhinopithecus roxellana) were used as sentinel species.

Background: Rye (Secale cereale L.) is the most widely used related species in wheat genetic breeding, and the introduction of its chromosome fragments into the wheat genome through distant hybridization is essential for enriching the genetic diversity of wheat. Rapid and accurate detection of rye chromatin in the wheat genome is important for distant hybridization.

Many R packages provide statistical approaches for elucidating the diversity of soil microbes, yet they still struggle to visualize microbial traits on a geographical map. This creates challenges in interpreting microbial biogeography on a regional scale, especially when the spatial scale is large or the distribution of sampling sites is uneven. Here, we developed a lightweight, flexible, and user-friendly R package called microgeo.

This study aimed to elucidate the effects of broiler embryos soaked in ferulic acid (FA) solution on alleviating the negative impact of thermal manipulation (TM) on chicken embryo development and to provide a theoretical and experimental basis for applying TM and FA in the poultry feeding industry. A total of 120 broiler fertilized eggs were randomly divided into three groups: control group, TM group, and comprehensive group (TM + FA), with 40 eggs in each group. The TM group and the comprehensive group from the 7th embryonic age to the 16th embryonic age received TM for ten days, treated with a temperature of 39.

Arogenate dehydratase (ADT) is key for phenylalanine (Phe) biosynthesis in plants. To examine ADT components and function in Akebia trifoliata, a representative of Ranunculaceae, we first identified eight ADTs (AktADT1-8, encoding sequences varying from 1032 to 1962 bp) in the A. trifoliata reference genome and five proteins (AktADT1, AktADT4, AktADT7, AktADT8 and AktADT8s) with moonlighting prephenate dehydratase (PDT) activity and Km values varying from 0.

Ovarian cancer (OC) is the most lethal gynecological tumor, characterized by its insidious and frequently recurring metastatic progression. Owing to limited early screening methods, over 70% of OC cases are diagnosed at advanced stages, typically stage III or IV. Recently, N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification has emerged as a hotspot of epigenetic research, representing a significant endogenous RNA modification in higher eukaryotes.

Background: The eastern edge of the Qinghai‒Tibet Plateau (QTP) and subtropical China have various regions where plant species originate and thrive, but these regions have been the focus of very few integrative studies. Here, we elucidated the phylogeographic structure of a continuous and widespread Akebia trifoliata population across these two regions.
Results: Sixty-one populations consisting of 391 genotypes were examined to assess population diversity and structure via network distribution analysis, maximum likelihood phylogenetic tree reconstruction, divergence time estimation, demographic history inference, and ancestral area reconstruction of both conserved internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and chloroplast (rps16) DNA sequences.
The Sichuan golden snub-nosed monkey () is a rare and endangered primate species endemic to China. Conducting research on the population distribution changes of the Sichuan golden snub-nosed monkey holds paramount importance for its conservation. Our study represented a comprehensive investigation into the population distribution of the Sichuan snub-nosed monkey by integrating data acquired from field surveys, protected areas, and historical records and using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to explore changes in distribution across various time periods, including the historical (the Mid-to-Late Pleistocene), recent (1980-2000), and current (2001-2023).

Thaumarchaeota are predominant in oligotrophic habitats such as deserts and arid soils, but their adaptations to these arid conditions are not well understood. In this study, we assembled 23 Thaumarchaeota genomes from arid and semi-arid soils collected from the Inner Mongolia Steppe and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Using a comparative genomics approach, integrated with 614 Thaumarchaeota genomes from public databases, we identified the traits and evolutionary forces that contribute to their adaptations to aridity.

A scientific performance evaluation model is necessary to establish a performance evaluation index system for compulsory education in ethnic areas and to conduct objective and impartial evaluations. After conducting theoretical analysis and reviewing literature, it was determined that existing educational input performance evaluation models are general and fail to reflect the unique characteristics of compulsory education development in ethnic areas of China. Therefore, this study intends to improve their self-adaptability and degree of fit.
