Objectives: Patient-reported outcomes (PROs), including physical function, have predictive potential for survival but remain underexplored in multiple myeloma (MM). This study evaluates the predictive and prognostic value of PROs for treatment outcomes in MM patients on daratumumab-based therapy and evaluates physical function versus ECOG Performance Status as a potential treatment-effect modifier.
Methods: Data was pooled from randomized trials (MAIA, POLLUX, CASTOR) that collected pretreatment PROs using EORTC QLQ-C30.

Objective: Severe steroid hyporesponsive asthma is a heterogeneous group of chronic inflammatory diseases characterized by irreversible airflow limitation, hyperresponsiveness, inflammation, and remodelling of the airways. Severe asthmatics account for more than 60% of asthma-related healthcare cost worldwide given they are hyporesponsive to corticosteroids and due to the absence of targeted treatment specifically for the T helper-17 (Th-17) high endotype. Hence, there is a clear unmet need to investigate other treatment options to control patients' symptoms.

Knee-osteoarthritis (OA) is often associated with increased intestinal permeability, potentially causing sarcopenia, and mobility issues. Current treatments are ineffective. The objective of this study was to investigate if butyrate improves sarcopenia and physical function in knee-OA patients, and if improvements correlate with changes in gut health, specifically intestinal permeability, and bacterial load.

Prostate adenocarcinoma (PAC) is a complex and common cancer in males and is one of the leading causes of cancer-related death globally. PAC is a multifaceted disease that encompasses different subtypes, including acinar and ductal adenocarcinoma, small cell carcinoma, neuroendocrine tumors, and transitional cell carcinoma with each subtype presenting distinct prognostic difficulties. Therefore, predicting the overall survival (OS) rate of individuals with PAC continues to be a substantial clinical barrier due to the diverse nature of the illness, coexisting medical conditions, and constraints associated with conventional diagnostic markers.

Urea-contaminated wastewater requires extensive energy for proper treatment before safe discharge to the surroundings. Direct urea fuel cells (DUFCs) could be utilized efficiently to treat urea-polluted water and generate electricity. The precious/expensive catalyst utilized at the electrodes is one of the main significant challenges to DUFC commercialization.

Background: The search for an ideal anchorage during orthodontic treatment resulted in the invention of Orthodontic Mini Implants (OMIs) that do not require patient's cooperation. In spite of their common use in orthodontics, there is a lack of studies regarding patients' perceptions of OMIs after their immediate and delayed loading.
Aim: The aim of this study was to compare the pain and discomfort experienced by patients following the placement of orthodontic mini-implants and immediate loading with delayed loading, and to evaluate their success rate to formulate a definite clinical protocol for loading of the orthodontic mini-implants.

Background And Objectives: Maxillary expansion is one of the most commonly advocated treatment approaches for the management of the maxillary deficiency in the transverse plane and is possible because of the presence of mid-palatal suture. This finite element method (FEM) study was taken to evaluate the stress pattern and displacement in the screw and its adjacent structures used in three different treatment modalities, such as rapid maxillary expansion (RME), mini-implant-assisted rapid palatal expansion (MARPE), and MARPE in conjunction with micro-osteoperforations.
Materials And Methods: An adult human dried skull, cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) of the skull, and FEM and associated software (GEOMAGIC) were included.
