Advanced control strategy for AC microgrids: a hybrid ANN-based adaptive PI controller with droop control and virtual impedance technique.

Sci Rep

December 2024

Department of Theoretical Electrical Engineering and Diagnostics of Electrical Equipment, Institute of Electrodynamics, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Beresteyskiy, 56, Kyiv-57, Kyiv, 03680, Ukraine.

In this paper, an improved voltage control strategy for microgrids (MG) is proposed, using an artificial neural network (ANN)-based adaptive proportional-integral (PI) controller combined with droop control and virtual impedance techniques (VIT). The control strategy is developed to improve voltage control, power sharing and total harmonic distortion (THD) reduction in the MG systems with renewable and distributed generation (DG) sources. The VIT is used to decouple active and reactive power, reduce negative power interactions between DG's and improve the robustness of the system under varying load and generation conditions.

Article Synopsis
  • Canine leishmaniasis (CanL), caused by Leishmania infantum, is a common disease in Algeria, prompting a study on how veterinarians in Skikda and Constantine manage and understand it.
  • A survey with 139 veterinary clinics revealed a high prevalence of CanL, similar symptoms, and a reliance on serological techniques for diagnosis, but also indicated euthanasia is the main treatment strategy.
  • The study highlighted a lack of education among veterinarians on zoonotic disease prevention, suggesting a need for standardized, evidence-based practices to improve CanL management in Algeria.

The valorization of agro-industrial byproducts in domestic animal feed has the potential to reduce the cost of animal production. This trial was conducted to determine the effect of incorporating prickly pear byproducts (envelopes and cakes) as a partial substitute for corn and soybean meal in the diet of wheat quails (Coturnix coturnix) during their rearing period. Six hundred-day-old Coturnix coturnix quails of equal sex ratio (1:1), weighing on average 7 ± 0.

Purpose: In this study, we retrospectively reviewed the use of flow cytometry (FCM) in the diagnosis of inborn errors of immunity (IEIs) at a single center in Algeria. Sharing insights into our practical experience, we present FCM based diagnostic approaches adapted to different clinical scenarios.

Methods: Between May 2017 and February 2024, pediatric and adult patients presenting with clinical features suggestive of immunodeficiency were subjected to FCM evaluation, including lymphocyte subset analysis, detection of specific surface or intracellular proteins, and functional analysis of immune cells.

The present investigation examines the antimicrobial and antifungal characteristics of natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES) and apple vinegar in relation to a diverse array of bacterial and fungal strains. The clinical bacterial strains, including gram-negative and gram-positive, and the fungal pathogen , were subjected to solid medium diffusion to determine the inhibitory effects of these compounds. The results show that NADES has superior antimicrobial and antifungal action compared to apple vinegar.

Laboratoire de Biochimie Appliquée, Faculté des Sciences de la Nature et de la Vie, Université de Bejaia, Bejaia, 06000, Algérie.

The study compared the chemical composition of various olive oils from the northern Algerian province of Bejaia. The research focused on the antioxidant activities of the oil's main constituents and their ability to inhibit the AKT1 protein, which is implicated in the development of colorectal cancer. The findings revealed that all of the examined oils fell within the extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) category and exhibited a high oleic acid content, particularly for samples from wild olives.

Laboratoire de Recherche de Pathologie Animale Développement Des Elevages Et Surveillance de La Chaine Alimentaire Des Denrées Animales Ou d'origine Animale (PADESCA), Institute of Veterinary Sciences, University of Constantine, Constantine, Algeria.

This study aimed to demonstrate the existence of a possible correlation between the level of liver fluke infection in cattle caused by and the titers of anti-parasite antibodies in the blood. 113 blood samples were taken from non-dewormed pasture cattle in the communal slaughterhouse of the Jijel city in order to determine the serological titration of anti-fluke antibodies by the ELISA method. After slaughtering the animals studied, a count of parasites present in the inspected livers was carried out in order to assess the level of parasitic infection.

This study assessed the efficacy of an Ammodaucus leucotrichus seed extract to treat rheumatoid arthritis in rat models of this disease. Rheumatoid arthritis was induced in rats using two methods: immunization with 100 µL of Complete Freund Adjuvant (CFA) and immunization with 100 µL of a 3 mg/ml solution of type II collagen (CII) from chicken cartilage. The therapeutic potential of the extract was assessed at different doses (150, 300, and 600 mg/kg/day for 21 days in the CII-induced arthritis model and for 14 days in the CFA-induced arthritis model) and compared with methotrexate (MTX; 0.

Advanced efficient energy management strategy based on state machine control for multi-sources PV-PEMFC-batteries system.

Sci Rep

Department of Theoretical Electrical Engineering and Diagnostics of Electrical Equipment, Institute of Electrodynamics, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Peremogy, 56, Kyiv-57, 03680, Ukraine.

This article offers a PV-PEMFC-batteries energy management strategy (EMS) that aims to meet the following goals: keep the DC link steady at the standard value, increase battery lifespan, and meet power demand. The suggested multi-source renewable system (MSRS) is made to meet load demand while using extra power to fill batteries. The major energy source for the MSRS is photovoltaic, and fuzzy logic MPPT is used to guarantee that the PV operates at optimal efficiency under a variety of irradiation conditions.

In this work, we have conducted an ab initio computational research of the pressure impact on the structural, elastic, thermodynamic, electronic, and optical properties of Be-based fluoroperovskite XBeF3 (X= K, Rb) compounds by using GGA+ PBEsol functional based on DFT in the CASTEP Package. These compounds' ground state characteristics were examined, including the lattice parameters, coefficient compressibility (B), and its pressure derivative(B'). Structural characterization shows that these compounds keep a cubic crystal structure with the impact of stress till 18 GPa.

One of the most commonly used molecular inputs for ionic liquids and deep eutectic solvents (DESs) in the literature are the critical properties and acentric factors, which can be easily determined using the modified Lydersen-Joback-Reid (LJR) method with Lee-Kesler mixing rules. However, the method used in the literature is generally applicable only to binary mixtures of DESs. Nevertheless, ternary DESs are considered to be more interesting and may provide further tailorability for developing task-specific DESs for particular applications.
