Breast cancer (BC) is the most frequently diagnosed cancer among women worldwide, including Algeria. Certain single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) have been linked to higher risk of BC. Several studies have been performed on the insulin- like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) T > C (rs7136446) and the interleukin 6 (IL-6) 174 G > C (rs1800795) SNPs to explore their role in BC.

The risk to public health conferred by the Omicron variant is still not completely clear, although its numerous gene mutations have raised concerns regarding its potential for increased transmissibility and immune escape. In this study, we test the compatibility of the different primers and probes available in different commercial kits sold internationally with all the sequences of SARS-CoV-2 analyzed in Algeria until March 2023. The Algerian SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant sequences were aligned with the Muscle tool using Genious software.

The aim of this study is to investigate how the introduction of Gold nanoparticles GNPs into a skin tumor affects the ability to absorb laser light during multicolor laser exposure. The Monte Carlo Geant4 technique was used to construct a cubic geometry simulating human skin, and a 5 mm tumor spheroid was implanted at an adjustable depth x. Our findings show that injecting a very low concentration of 0.

Hybrid Brain-Computer Interface (hBCI) combines multiple neurophysiology modalities or paradigms to speed up the output of a single command or produce multiple ones simultaneously. Concurrent hBCIs that employ endogenous and exogenous paradigms are limited by the reduced set of possible commands. Conversely, the fusion of different exogenous visual evoked potentials demonstrated impressive performances; however, they suffer from limited portability.

Functional gastrointestinal (GI) disorders are recognized as a major public health concern worldwide. These disorders involve persistent digestive symptoms indicative of digestive tract dysfunction. A survey examining the utilisation of probiotics and medicinal plants as supplementary treatments was conducted on 160 patients with GI disorders at healthcare institutions in Saïda from March to April 2023 using questionnaires that had been previously adapted and tested for reliability with Cronbach's alpha test.

Introduction: Breast cancer (BC) is the most common malignancy in women worldwide, representing a major public health burden. Therefore, there is a need to identify circulating biomarkers for the early detection of BC and to facilitate the diagnosis. Interleukin-6 (IL-6), 4-hydroxy-2-nonenal (4-HNE), and hypoxia-inducible factor 1-α (HIF-1α) are biomarkers involved in the initiation and progression of this disease.

This study examines the degradation of atrazine (ATZ) with Pt-modified textile electrodes using an electrochemical method that is comparatively studied in two electrochemical cell configurations: cells with separated anodic and cathodic compartments (divided configuration); and without any separation (undivided configuration). The influence of the presence of chloride ions was studied. The best results were obtained when an undivided cell was used.

This study is based on the valuation of a few model molecules. The objective of this research is focused on linear optical (LO) and nonlinear optical (NLO) enhancement of five organometallic molecules based on different metallocenes. These molecules were subjected to several calculations by different long-range functionals CAM-B3LYP, LC-BLYP, LC-wPBE, wB97X, M11, and the following three Minnesota functionals: M06-2X and M08-HX in comparison with the MP2 approach.

A microbial fuel cell is a biological electrochemical system that extracts electrons stored in organic matter by oxidation using catalytic properties of microorganisms at bioanode. The major problem in such device, is however limited power production due to slow kinetic of oxygen reduction at cathode. It is worthwhile to develop new materials that fulfil these requirements.

Objective: An electro-active biofilm of Fruit Peeling (FP) leachate was formed onto the Carbon Felt (CF) bio-anode in a Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC), after functioning for a long time. The electro active-biofilm thus formed was then scratched by ultrasound and re-inoculated in a new leachate to be transplanted onto the bio-anode. This procedure allowed the microbial electron charge transfer and therefore the enhancement of the bio-energy production of the fuel cell.

The synthesis of podocarpanes, including 12,19-dihydroxy-13-acetyl-8,11,13-podocarpatriene (23), isolated from Gaultheria yunnanensis and not previously synthesized, and totarane-type terpenoids, starting from the natural labdane trans-communic acid (15), is described. Their antiproliferative activities against MCF-7, T-84 and A-549 human tumoural cell lines are studied. An antiproliferative effect was induced by compounds 23, 27 and 28, with IC < 10 μM in two (27) or three cell lines (23 and 28).

The in vitro antiproliferative activities of some taiwaniaquinoids and related compounds with functionalized A, B, or C rings against human breast (MCF-7), colon (T-84), and lung (A-549) tumor cell lines were assayed. The most potent compounds, 16, 27, and 36, were more effective than the naturally occurring taiwaniaquinones A (4) and F (5) in all three cell lines. The structure-activity relationship study of these new taiwaniaquinoids highlighted the correlation between the bromo substituent and the antiproliferative activity, especially in MCF-7 cells.

A short route toward aromatic cassane diterpenes from labdane terpenoids has been developed. In the key step, the aromatic ring with the oxygenated function at C-12 and the characteristic carbon group at C-14 of the target compounds is elaborated via a Diels-Alder/aromatization sequence of a furanosesquiterpene and methyl propiolate. On this basis, the synthesis of the proposed structure of benthaminin 1 from trans-communic acid has been achieved.

The 4,5-dihydropyrazole motif has drawn considerable attention over the years as it was shown to exhibit a plethora of biological and pharmacological properties, including anticancer, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties. As such, it has been the target of a number of methods and drug discovery programs. We report here a straightforward and highly selective approach featuring a key palladium-catalysed Tsuji-Trost type C-allylation and subsequent intramolecular 1,4-addition of hydrazones.

A novel method for color image enhancement is proposed as an extension of the scalar-diffusion-shock-filter coupling model, where noisy and blurred images are denoised and sharpened. The proposed model is based on using the single vectors of the gradient magnitude and the second derivatives as a manner to relate different color components of the image. This model can be viewed as a generalization of the Bettahar-Stambouli filter to multivalued images.

NiFeCO(3) hydrotalcites with Ni/Fe molar ratio of 3 were synthesized by co-precipitation method at constant pH, followed by hydrothermal treatment at various temperatures 85-180 degrees C for 3-360h. The obtained materials were characterized by XRD analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy, SEM and TEM microscopy, TGA and BET techniques. The resulting materials were found to be similar to the hydrotalcite with a well-defined hexagonal morphology of crystallites.

Valorization of phosphogypsum as mineralizer in the burning of Portland cement clinker was studied in our laboratory. X-ray fluorescence, optical microscope technique and powder X-ray diffraction were then used to characterize the synthesized clinker and its raw mixture in terms of chemical composition and clinker mineralogical composition. The effects of phosphogypsum on structural and morphological properties of clinker minerals and on the presence of alite were followed by scanning electron microscopy combined with microprobe analysis.
