Developing earth-abundant electrocatalysts with high activity and durability for acidic oxygen evolution reaction is essential for H production, yet it remains greatly challenging. Here, guided by theoretical calculations, the challenge of overcoming the balance between catalytic activity and dynamic durability for acidic OER in CoO was effectively addressed the preferential substitution of Ru for the Co (T) site of CoO. characterization and DFT calculations show that the enhanced Co-O covalency after the introduction of Ru SAs facilitates the generation of OH* species and mitigates the unstable structure transformation direct O-O coupling.

CRISPR/Cas9 genome-editing tools have tremendously boosted our capability of manipulating the eukaryotic genomes in biomedical research and innovative biotechnologies. However, the current approaches that allow precise integration of gene-sized large DNA fragments generally suffer from low efficiency and high cost. Herein, we developed a versatile and efficient approach, termed LOCK (ong dsDNA with 3'-verhangs mediated RISPR nock-in), by utilizing specially designed 3'-overhang double-stranded DNA (odsDNA) donors harboring 50-nt homology arm.

Due to the wide applications of blue and red photodetectors, dual-wavelength (blue/red) photodetectors are promising for future markets. In this work, a dual-wavelength photodetector based on vertical (In,Ga)N nanowires and graphene has been fabricated successfully. By using the transparent graphene, both blue and red responses can be clearly detected.

State Key Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry for Life Science, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, ChemBIC (Chemistry and Biomedicine Innovation Center), Nanjing University 210023 Nanjing Jiangsu China

We developed a capability of a monolayer of bioluminescent (BL) bacteria for spatiotemporally visualizing the heterogeneous distribution and dynamic evolution of interfacial oxygen concentration, resulting in the discovery of spontaneous and stochastic oxygen waves at the interface between the substrate and an undisturbed, apparently still solution. Wild type bacteria, , spontaneously emit light during the native metabolism processes, , bioluminescence. The emission intensity is sensitively regulated by oxygen concentration.

Efficient electroreduction of CO to C products on CeO modified CuO.

Chem Sci

March 2021

Beijing National Laboratory for Molecular Sciences, CAS Key Laboratory of Colloid and Interface and Thermodynamics, CAS Research/Education Center for Excellence in Molecular Sciences, Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences Beijing 100190 P. R. China

Electrocatalytic reduction of CO into multicarbon (C) products powered by renewable electricity offers one promising method for CO utilization and promotes the storage of renewable energy under an ambient environment. However, there is still a dilemma in the manufacture of valuable C products between balancing selectivity and activity. In this work, cerium oxides were combined with CuO (CeO/CuO) and showed an outstanding catalytic performance for C products.

A ZnO/porous GaN heterojunction and its application as a humidity sensor.

Nanoscale Adv

March 2019

Division of Interdisciplinary Research, Suzhou Institute of Nano-Tech and Nano-Bionics, Chinese Academy of Sciences 215123 Suzhou P. R. China

A heterojunction of ZnO/porous GaN (ZnO/PGAN) was fabricated and directly applied to a diode-type humidity sensor. ZnO disks were loaded onto PGAN using a spraying process. The structure and surface morphology of the ZnO/PGAN were characterized using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy.
