Cold atmospheric pressure plasma (CAPP) comprises an ensemble of ionized gas, neutral particles, and/or reactive species. Electricity is frequently used to produce CAPP via a variety of techniques, including plasma jets, corona discharges, dielectric barrier discharges, and glow discharges. The type and flow rates of the carrier gas(es), temperature, pressure, and vacuum can all be altered to control the desired properties of the CAPP.

Near-infrared (NIR) emitters with high two-photon absorption (2PA) cross-sections are of interest to enable imaging in the tissue transparency windows. This study explores the potential of DNA-stabilized silver nanoclusters (Ag -DNAs) as water-soluble two-photon absorbers. We investigate 2PA of four different atomically precise Ag -DNA species with far-red to NIR emission and varying nanocluster and ligand compositions.

Herein, a new magnetic nanobiocomposite based on a synthesized cross-linked pectin-cellulose hydrogel (cross-linked Pec-Cel hydrogel) substrate was designed and synthesized. The formation of the cross-linked Pec-Cel hydrogel with a calcium chloride agent and its magnetization process caused a new and efficient magnetic nanobiocomposite. Several spectral and analytical techniques, including FTIR, SEM, VSM, TGA, XRD, and EDX analyses, were performed to confirm and characterize the structural features of the magnetic cross-linked pectin-cellulose hydrogel nanobiocomposite (magnetic cross-linked Pec-Cel hydrogel nanobiocomposite).

Background: For decades, both intraperitoneal and pleural chemotherapy (IPC) have been delivered as a liquid solution. Recent studies suggest that foam carriers outperform liquid carriers for locoregional chemotherapy. For the first time, this study aims to evaluate the feasibility, safety, and characteristics of foam-based intrathoracic chemotherapy (FBiTC) in an in vivo setting.

For decades, intraperitoneal chemotherapy (IPC) was used as a liquid solution for the treatment of peritoneal metastasis. Due to its advantageous physical properties, foam-based intraperitoneal chemotherapy (FBIC) was recently proposed as a treatment for peritoneal metastasis. For the first time, this study intends to examine the feasibility, expansion, drug distribution, and penetration of FBIC in vivo.

Nowadays, nanomaterials (NMs) are widely present in daily life due to their significant benefits, as demonstrated by their application in many fields such as biomedicine, engineering, food, cosmetics, sensing, and energy. However, the increasing production of NMs multiplies the chances of their release into the surrounding environment, making human exposure to NMs inevitable. Currently, nanotoxicology is a crucial field, which focuses on studying the toxicity of NMs.

In the present study, the effect of the static and alternating magnetic field applied individually and in combination with an algal extract on the germination of soybean seeds ( (L.) Merrill) and chlorophyll content was examined. The exposure time of seeds to the static magnetic field was 3, 6, and 12 min, whereas to the alternating magnetic field was 1, 2.

This paper discusses problems related to the influence of 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo--dioxin (TCDD) on the mineral composition of the calvaria in the offspring of female rats. The female rats were administered with a single dose of TCDD and subsequently, after three-weeks, with α-tocopherol or acetylsalicylic acid. The research focused on analysis of the main mineral elements (Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn).

The patient safety implications are severe for both patient and clinician. Traditional approaches to diagnostic decision support have lacked broad acceptance for a number of well-documented reasons: poor integration with electronic health records and clinician workflow, static evidence that lacks transparency and trust, and use of proprietary technical standards hindering wider interoperability.

It was proposed that magnetic fields (MFs) can influence gene transcription via CTCT motif located in human HSP70 promoter. To check the universality of this mechanism, we estimated the potential role of this motif on plant gene transcription in response to MFs using both bioinformatics and experimental studies. We searched potential promoter sequences (1000 bp upstream) in the potato and thale cress genomes for the CTCT sequence.

Large quantities of green seaweed, probably due to eutrophication, are found in the Baltic Sea, as well as on the beach. The tourist attractiveness of the seaside resorts is therefore reduced. The aim of this study was to find the method of the utilization of this algal biomass into fertilizers.
