The aim of this study is to screen key target genes of osteoarthritis associated with aging and to preliminarily explore the associated immune infiltration cells and potential drugs. Differentially expressed senescence-related genes (DESRGs) selected from Cellular senescence-related genes (SRGs) and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were analyzed using Gene Ontology enrichment, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathways and protein-protein interaction networks. Hub genes in DESRGs were selected based on degree, and diagnostic genes were further screened by gene expression and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve.

Background The incidence of obesity and related comorbidities, such as diabetes, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and osteoarthritis, is increasing. Many patients with obesity do not respond to conservative treatments. For these patients, bariatric surgery, also known as metabolic bariatric surgery (MBS), has emerged as an effective option.

Foot ulcers are amongst the most prevalent complications of diabetes, known for their delayed healing process. Recent research indicates that the transcription factor forkhead box M1 (FOXM1) plays a role in promoting diabetic ulcer repair. However, the precise mechanisms underlying FOXM1 functions in this context remain unclear.

Objectives: Systemic sclerosis (SSc), a chronic autoimmune disorder, characterised by local inflammation and progressive fibrosis. Tumour necrosis factor-like weak inducer of apoptosis (TWEAK) has been established as a key mediator in fibrotic processes across multiple organs, primarily through binding to its receptor, fibroblast growth factor-inducible 14 (Fn14). However, the precise role of the TWEAK/Fn14 signalling in SSc pathogenesis remains unclear.

Background: High tibial osteotomy (HTO) is a surgical procedure for treating certain knee conditions. Proper execution of HTO can preserve joint function and delay or avoid the need for total knee replacement. This study compared different 3D printing techniques (fused deposition modeling, selective laser sintering, and direct metal laser sintering) and a navigation system for their suitability in assisting HTO surgeries.

Nanotechnology has significantly advanced various fields, including therapeutic delivery, through the use of nanomaterials as drug carriers. The biocompatibility of ordered porous silica materials makes them promising candidates for drug delivery systems, particularly in the treatment of cancer and other diseases. This review summarizes the use of microporous zeolites and mesoporous silica materials in drug delivery, focusing on their physicochemical properties and applications as drug carriers.

Persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN) is a syndrome of acute respiratory failure characterized by systemic hypoxemia and elevated pulmonary arterial pressure, which leads to pathological changes in pulmonary vascular remodeling and endothelial cell function. Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) H19 has been shown to be involved in the regulation of arterial endothelial cell function, but its regulatory role in PPHN is not fully understood. In the present study, mouse pulmonary artery endothelial cells (MPAECs) were cultured in a hypoxic conditions.

Introduction: Necrotising enterocolitis (NEC) of the intestine of preterm infants leads to the risk of abdominal surgery, short bowel syndrome, neurodevelopmental disorders and death. Although the risks of NEC and its complications have been recognised in many countries, few countries have established NEC-specific registries to continuously monitor its aetiology and prognosis. In China, the understanding of risk factors and prognosis of NEC is incomplete, characterised by a lack of evidence from prospective and multicentre studies.

In this work, the current density distribution during the anodization of ATNT arrays was optimized by adding polyethylene glycol-600 (PEG-600) to the conventional ethylene glycol-based electrolyte, which enhanced the dependence of the electronic current on the applied voltage, thus providing a stabilizing effect on anodization and improving the homogeneity of the pores on the surface of ATNT arrays. A new image processing approach, called the region-growing method, is reported in this work, which can quantitatively analyze the pore size of ATNT arrays through SEM images, and the surface morphology of ATNT arrays was evaluated based on this.

Background: In recent years, the anti-tumor effects of vitamin D have garnered increasing attention. However, previous epidemiological studies on the relationship between vitamin D and nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) have yielded inconsistent results. This study aims to further explore whether vitamin D helps reduce the risk of NPC through Mendelian randomization (MR) and meta-analysis.

A novel and rapid method was developed for the determination of galantamine in human plasma by microchip electrophoresis with a highly integrated contactless conductivity detector (CCD). The instrumental parameters affecting the response of the detector, such as excitation frequency and excitation voltage, were examined and optimized. The electrophoresis conditions that influenced the separation and detection of galantamine, including the composition of buffer solution, buffer pH, buffer concentration, additives, injection time, and separation voltage were systematically investigated.

Titanium mesh exposure after cranioplasty is the most serious complication of this procedure. Although some clinical experience has been gradually accumulated over the years in the diagnosis and treatment of titanium mesh exposure, the treatment is often not standardized and it is difficult to achieve satisfactory repair results due to insufficient understanding of its pathogenesis and concurrent infections. To normalize the diagnosis and treatment of titanium mesh exposed wounds after cranioplasty and improve the therapeutic effect and the quality of life of patients, the Wound Repair Professional Committee of Chinese Medical Doctor Association organized an expert discussion based on the literature and current diagnosis and treatment status of titanium mesh exposed wounds after cranioplasty at home and abroad, and reached a consensus on the pathogenesis, preventive measures, and diagnosis and treatment strategies of titanium mesh exposed wounds after cranioplasty to provide reference for relevant clinicians.

Objective: Thyroid cancer is the most common malignant endocrine tumor, with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) being the most prevalent type, accounting for 85% of thyroid cancer cases. Here, we conducted a bibliometric analysis of the literature in the field of microRNAs in PTC research to demonstrate current trends and research hotspots, and present a visual map of past and emerging trends.
Methods: We searched the Web of Scientific Core Collection (WoSCC) database for publications from 1999 to 2023 centered on this field.

Background: Apocrine carcinoma associated with Paget's disease is a rare malignancy that typically manifests in elderly individuals, predominantly affecting the geriatric population. It commonly arises in regions rich in apocrine glands and often exhibits an insidious onset, potentially requiring several years to be diagnosed.
Case Presentation: An 80-year-old male was simultaneously diagnosed with scrotal apocrine carcinoma (showing Paget changes) and early-stage gastric cancer.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a widespread nosocomial pathogen with a significant to cause both severe planktonic acute and biofilm-related chronic infections. Small RNAs (sRNAs) are noncoding regulatory molecules that are stabilized by the RNA chaperone Hfq to trigger various virulence-related signaling pathways. Here, we identified an Hfq-binding sRNA in P.

BACKGROUND Muscle hernias are an uncommon condition typically found in the extremities; masseter muscle hernia is even rarer. However, it is important for clinicians and radiologists to be aware of this possibility. Intramuscular venous malformation (IMVM) is also uncommon and mostly found in the head, neck, and extremities.
