This study aimed to measure the intention to leave and well-being indicators (ie, job satisfaction, burnout, moral distress, risk of depression, and resilience) of health care providers (HCPs) in Saskatchewan, Canada and to explore the association between their intention to leave and well-being indicators and other demographic factors, including gender. A cross-sectional study was conducted among registered nurses (RNs), physicians, and respiratory therapists (RTs) in Saskatchewan between December 2021 and April 2022. An online survey inquired about intentions to leave current positions, well-being indicators, and demographics of HCPs.

In this narrative review, we tracked the progression of beliefs about women and hemophilia as documented in the literature from pre-1800s to the present time.

Successful cryopreservation of the whole ovary outside of the body, while a woman undergoes cancer treatments, may help preserving fertility and regaining hormone balance during recovery. Assessment of cerebral oxygenation during repeated squat stands following an acute sport-related concussion (SRC) has the potential to identify physiological changes following SRC. All varsity university athletes completed a pre-season assessment and 53 were followed up within 5-days of suffering an SRC. Of the 53 participants, 29 had continuous beat-to-beat blood pressure (BP; sampled at 200 hz) collected by finger photoplethysmography, and 53 had right prefrontal cortex oxygenation collected by near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS; sampled at 10 hz).

What are the Perceptions and Lived Experiences of Canadian Injured Workers about the Provision of Physiotherapy Services using Telerehabilitation?

Purpose: Despite evidence of efficacy, the effectiveness of telerehabilitation in real-world clinical settings is still largely unknown. Telerehabilitation requires a substantial transformation of the organization and delivery of traditional services. Considering that a virtual setting can create unique challenges for providing physiotherapy services and given the physical and potential hands-on nature of evidence-based assessments and interventions, it is important to investigate what injured workers think of receiving physiotherapy care via telerehabilitation and to examine if rehabilitation needs are adequately met.

Identification of key signaling pathways and novel computational drug target for oral cancer, metabolic disorders and periodontal disease.

Aim: Due to conventional endocrinological methods, there is presently no shared work available, and no therapeutic options have been demonstrated in oral cancer (OC) and periodontal disease (PD), type 2 diabetes (T2D), and obese patients. The aim of this study is to determine the similar molecular pathways and potential therapeutic targets in PD, OC, T2D, and obesity that may be used to anticipate the progression of the disease.

Methods: Four Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) microarray datasets (GSE29221, GSE15773, GSE16134, and GSE13601) are used for finding differentially expressed genes (DEGs) for T2D, obese, and PD patients with OC in order to explore comparable pathways and therapeutic medications.

Background And Objective: Timely treatment is crucial for cancer patients, so it's important to administer the appropriate treatment as soon as possible. Because individuals can respond differently to a given drug due to their unique genomic profiles, we aim to use their genomic information to predict how various drugs will affect them and determine the best course of treatment.

Methods: We present Kernelized Residual Stacking (KRS), a new multi-task learning approach, and use it to predict the responses to anti-cancer drugs based on genomic data.

Barriers to integration of health and equity into urban design policies in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Although there is extensive literature on the impact of urban design on health, little is known about the barriers to integrating health into urban design policies. As cities increasingly lead efforts to improve health equity and population health, understanding the perspectives and experiences of municipal actors on health and equity is essential. To address this gap, we conducted semi-structured interviews with 30 stakeholders engaged with urban design policy- and decision-making at the City of Regina in Saskatchewan, Canada.

Despite many studies on the environmental cycling of As, Fe, and S, sulfide (S(-II))-induced hydrous ferric arsenate (HFA) transformation remains to be elucidated. Herein, we investigated the anaerobic reaction of HFA with S(-II) at three environmental concentrations (1, 10, and 50 mM) at pH 48. Changes in solid-phase As, Fe, and S speciation were investigated by XRD, FTIR, Raman, XPS, synchrotron XANES, SEM, and TEM.

The objective of this study was therefore to investigate the number of contact hours and approaches to teaching ophthalmology in the curriculum of English-speaking veterinary schools worldwide. An online survey was distributed to 51 veterinary colleges in North America, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and the Caribbean.

Plant partnerships with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) improve plant resilience to stress by increasing the plant's access to and uptake of essential nutrients and water, as well as regulating the plant's stress response. The magnitude and direction of AMF effects during the relationship depend on multiple factors including plant identity and environmental context. To investigate how AMF influence plant responses to environmental stresses, we assessed the effects of drought and salinity on growth, final biomass, and reproduction of nine alfalfa (Medicago sativa) cultivars inoculated with Rhizophagus irregularis or grown alone.

Access to Healthcare for Black Women in Alberta: An Interpersonal-Level Analysis of Barriers and Facilitators.

Alberta is home to one of Canada's fastest growing populations of Black people, driven by an influx of African immigrants to major metropolitan areas such as Edmonton and Calgary. As the Black population in Alberta continues to grow, it is crucial to the well-being of these communities that we understand their health service needs. Black women are a vulnerable group within the Black population due to inequities in social determinants of health such as access to healthcare.

Understanding Needs for Chronic Musculoskeletal Pain Management in a Northern Dene and Métis Community: A Community Based Needs Assessment.

Background: Chronic musculoskeletal (MSK) pain disproportionately affects Indigenous Peoples, and rural/remote communities face significant barriers in accessing care. La Loche, a Dene/Métis community in northern Saskatchewan, has limited access to specialized chronic pain management services and specialized health providers.

Aims: The aim of this needs assessment was to gain insight into the community's priorities, strengths, and concerns regarding chronic MSK pain management.

Strong anharmonic coupling between vibrational states in polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) produces highly mixed vibrational transitions that challenge the current understanding of the nature of the astronomical mid-infrared PAH emission bands. Traditionally, PAH emission bands have been characterized as either aromatic or aliphatic, and this assignment is used to determine the fraction of aliphatic carbon in astronomical sources. In reality, each of the transitions previously utilized for such an attribution is highly mixed with contributions from both aliphatic and aromatic CH motions as well as non-CH motions such as CC stretches.
