Back pain is one of the most costly disorders among the worldwide working population. Within that population, healthcare workers are at a high risk of back pain. Though they often demonstrate awkward postures and impaired balance in comparison with healthy workers, there is no clear relationship between compensatory postural responses to unpredictable stimuli and the strength of related muscle groups, in particular in individuals with mild to moderate back pain.

While competitive training is usually associated with the prevalence of back pain and injuries in athletes, little attention is being paid to the positive effects of sport-specific exercises on core musculature in the prevention of back problems. This scoping review aims (i) to map the literature that addresses the effects on reduction of back problems following athlete training with differing demands on the core musculature and (ii) to identify gaps in the existing literature and propose future research on this topic. The main literature search was conducted on the MEDLINE, PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, and Cochrane Library databases and was completed on Elsevier, SpringerLink, and Google Scholar.

PECAM1 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and is expressed in monocytes, neutrophils, macrophages and other types of immune cells as well as in endothelial cells. PECAM1 function is crucial for the development and maturation of B lymphocytes. The aim of this study was to link rare PECAM1 variants found in lymphedema patients with the development of lymphatic system malformations.

Objectives: The aim of the survey was to find out what the possible consequences are of the COVID-19 disease on the nervous system and to propose a method of using artificial intelligence.
Material And Methods: Recent research has shown that the risks to patients due to severe acute coronavirus 2 respiratory syndrome (SARS-COV-2) differ most significantly depending on age and the presence of underlying comorbidities such as: cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes and others. The consequences of COVID-19 on the nervous system are especially important.

This work presents the biochemical, cytochemical and molecular studies on two groups of PR proteins, β-1,3-glucanases and chitinases, and the arabinogalactan proteins (AGP) during the early stages of androgenesis induction in two breeding lines of rye (Secale cereale L.) with different androgenic potential. The process of androgenesis was initiated by tillers pre-treatments with low temperature, mannitol and/or reduced glutathione and resulted in microspores reprogramming and formation of androgenic structures what was associated with high activity of β-1,3-glucanases and chitinases.

Plant viruses are important pathogens that cause significant crop losses. A plant protein extraction protocol that combines crushing the tissue by a pestle in liquid nitrogen with subsequent crushing by a roller-ball crusher in urea solution, followed by RuBisCO depletion, reduction, alkylation, protein digestion, and ZipTip purification allowed us to substantially simplify the sample preparation by removing any other precipitation steps and to detect viral proteins from samples, even with less than 0.2 g of leaf tissue, by a medium resolution nanoLC-ESI-Q-TOF.

Neuropilins are transmembrane coreceptors expressed by endothelial cells and neurons. NRP1 and NRP2 bind a variety of ligands, by which they trigger cell signaling, and are important in the development of lymphatic valves and lymphatic capillaries, respectively. This study focuses on identifying rare variants in the and genes that could be linked to the development of lymphatic malformations in patients diagnosed with lymphedema.

Objectives: The aim of the research was to verify the possibilities of using virtual reality in combination with classical approaches to the rehabilitation of patients after stroke.
Material And Methods: As part of rehabilitation, we examined the possibilities of rehabilitation of the upper, lower limbs and fine mobility of the upper limbs in a selected group of patients that met the criteria for inclusion in a combined rehabilitation program using virtual reality with a focus on testing different approaches, devices and applications. At the same time, we tried to identify quantitative and qualitative parameters that could be objectively measured and based on them to evaluate the progress of patients in rehabilitation or in personalizing individual rehabilitation scenarios.

SEMA3A is a semaphorin involved in cell signaling with PlexinA1 and Neuropilin-1 (NRP1) receptors and it is responsible for recruiting dendritic cells into lymphatics. Mutations in the SEMA3A gene result in abnormalities in lymphatic vessel development and maturation. We investigated the association of SEMA3A variants detected in lymphedema patients with lymphatic maturation and lymphatic system malfunction.

Most secondary nonphotosynthetic eukaryotes have retained residual plastids whose physiological role is often still unknown. One such example is , a close nonphotosynthetic relative of harboring a plastid organelle of enigmatic function. By mining transcriptome data from , we finally provide an overview of metabolic processes localized to its elusive plastid.

Aminoglycoside antibiotics have been used for treating serious but also routine infections in veterinary and human medicine for many years. The basic aim of this work is to evaluate the cytotoxicity of dihydrostreptomycin and neomycin on three cell cultures - BHK-21 (Syrian golden hamster kidney fibroblast), VERO (African green monkey kidney fibroblast) and FEA (feline embryonic fibroblast) cells. The morphological changes were examined by Giemsa staining.

Microorganisms and plants can be important sources of many compounds with potential pharmaceutical applications. Extraction of these matrices is one of the ways of identifying the presence of inhibitory active substances against enzymes whose high activity leads to serious human diseases including cancer, Parkinson's or Crohn's diseases. The isolation and purification of inhibitors are time-consuming and expensive steps in the analysis of the crude extract and therefore, it is necessary to find a fast, efficient, and inexpensive method for screening extracts of interest.
