Updates on Responsive Drug Delivery Based on Liposome Vehicles for Cancer Treatment.

Laparoscopic splenectomy for solitary splenic hydatid cyst: Case report.

A novel technique of proximal optimization with kissing balloon inflation in bifurcation lesions.

MiRNA expression profiling in adenocarcinoma and squamous cell lung carcinoma reveals both common and specific deregulated microRNAs.

The current study investigated the expression signatures of miRNAs in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) and squamous cell lung carcinoma (LUSC). miRNA profiling was performed using microarray in 12 LUAD and 12 LUSC samples and adjacent normal tissues. In LUAD, 107 miRNAs were significantly deregulated, whereas 235 miRNAs were deregulated in LUSC.

Mesenteric Vascular Evaluation with Pre-operative Multidetector Computed Tomographic Angiography and Intraoperative Indocyanine Green Angiography to Reduce Anastomotic Leaks after Minimally Invasive Surgery for Colorectal Cancer.

Evaluation of Soluble CD90: Potential for Diagnostic Significance in Endometriosis Patients.

Background: Endometriosis is a chronic and debilitating gynecologic disorder, driven by endocrine and immune dysfunctions, which lead to poor endometrial differentiation and attenuated fertility. Escape from immune surveillance and involvement of inflammatory mechanisms appear to be factors in disease progression. Current diagnostic guidelines for endometriosis still lack an efficient biomarker.

The cognitive-behavioral aspects of the Mulligan concept of manual therapy: A systematic review.

Low back pain (LBP) is a common clinical problem imposing a prominent socio-economic burden. The purpose of this systematic review was to investigate the biopsychosocial effects of the Mulligan Concept (MC) of manual therapy (MT) when applied to patient's with LBP. Three researchers independently evaluated the literature quality, and completed a review on five online databases (Medline, Cochrane Library, Science Direct, ProQuest and Google Scholar) for articles published from January 1st 2010 to November 20th 2021, using a combination of free words, Wildcards and Medical Subject Headings (MESH) terms: " Mulligan mobilization " AND " back pain " OR " SNAGs.

A rare case of urethral hemangioma treated with LASER.

Hemangiomas are benign vascular lesion, most commonly seen in liver and skin. Urethral hemangiomas are very rare benign vascular tumors with varying size and usually present as urethral bleeding or hematuria. We are presenting a 64 years old male, who was admitted to our Urology Department with symptoms of intermittent urethral bleeding for 6 months.

Psychometric properties of the School Participation Questionnaire: Testing a measure of participation-related constructs.

Aim: To explore concurrent validity, convergent validity, interrater reliability, test-retest reliability, and Rasch model analysis of the School Participation Questionnaire (SPQ), a tool for teachers to assess personal and environmental determinants of school participation.

Method: Teachers of children with additional support needs, including intellectual disability, autism, and learning difficulties completed measures. Data were collected using the SPQ and the Participation and Environment Measure for Children and Youth (PEM-CY).

Electrochemical, Tribological and Biocompatible Performance of Electron Beam Modified and Coated Ti6Al4V Alloy.

Vacuum cathodic arc TiN coatings with overlaying TiO film were deposited on polished and surface roughened by electron beam modification (EBM) Ti6Al4V alloy. The substrate microtopography consisted of long grooves formed by the liner scan of the electron beam with appropriate frequencies (500 (AR500) and 850 (AR850) Hz). EBM transformed the α + β Ti6Al4V mixed structure into a single α'-martensite phase.

The treatment is individualized and it depends on general status of the patient, involving of other organs and also the control of primary tumor. We are presenting a 64 years old woman, who had episodes of intermittent hematuria for two weeks.

A rare case of double J stent migration in the kidney.

Double-J stents are among the basic and commonly used tools in urology. There are a lot of complications that can occur during DJ placement. We are presenting 62 years old woman, who was admitted in Urology Department with symptoms of left lumbar pain, irradiating towards inguinal area and hematuria.

Retroperitoneal cystic lymphangioma-a case report.

Retroperitoneal lymphangiomas (RL) are rare benign cystic tumors of the lymphatic system, which account for 1% of all lymphangiomas, and till now less than 200 cases have been reported. We are presenting a 35 years old woman, who was admitted with symptoms of recurrent left lumbar pain. The preliminary diagnosis from CT scan was retroperitoneal cyst.

A rare case of retroperitoneal primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET).

Retroperitoneal primitive neuroectodermal tumors (PNET) is a rare neoplastic disease of high malignancy with a tendency towards early metastasis, affect young adults irrespective of the gender. We present 81 year old woman, who was admitted in the Urology Department with symptoms of right flank pain and hematuria. Contrast-enhanced computerized tomography scan (CT-scan) showed a large heterogeneous right kidney mass around 12 cm in diameter.

A rare case of liposarcoma of the spermatic cord.

We present a 42 year old man, who was admitted in the Urology Department with symptoms of unilateral, painless, hard and firm slow-growing mass of the left scrotum for 4 months. Pelvic computed tomography (CT) scan showed a 8 cm3 mass lesion in the left hemiscrotum. Left radical orchiectomy and wide excision were performed and a yellowish soft tissue mass measuring closely attached to the spermatic cord was resected during surgery.

Development, psychometrics and feasibility of the School Participation Questionnaire: A teacher measure of participation related constructs.

Background: We report development of the SPQ (School Participation Questionnaire) a teacher-completed measure of participation related constructs for schools. The SPQ was developed to support participation-related assessment, interventions, and research in the inclusive school context.

Methods: Several iterative steps were undertaken.

Metal Oxide Nanoparticles as Biomedical Materials.

The development of new nanomaterials with high biomedical performance and low toxicity is essential to obtain more efficient therapy and precise diagnostic tools and devices. Recently, scientists often face issues of balancing between positive therapeutic effects of metal oxide nanoparticles and their toxic side effects. In this review, considering metal oxide nanoparticles as important technological and biomedical materials, the authors provide a comprehensive review of researches on metal oxide nanoparticles, their nanoscale physicochemical properties, defining specific applications in the various fields of nanomedicine.

Influence of apple peel powder addition on the physico-chemical characteristics and nutritional quality of bread wheat cookies.

Apple peel, a food industry by-product, is rich in fibre, polyphenols and minerals, and is a potentially attractive ingredient for bakery products. To evaluate the effect of wheat cookies enrichment with apple peel powder six types of cookies with increasing apple peel powder percentage (0%, 4%, 8%, 16%, 24% and 32%) were produced. The traits analysed were: pasting parameters; chemical properties (moisture, ash, lipid, protein, fibre and total polyphenols content); antioxidant capacity (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl and ferric reducing antioxidant power methods); physical attributes (width, thickness, volume and CIE lab colour); and sensory characteristics (external appearance, internal structure, texture, odour, taste and aroma).

A rare case of extramedullary hematopoiesis in adrenal mass.

Extramedullary hematopoiesis (EMH) is a compensatory mechanism for deficient formation or function of red blood cells. Very rarely, extramedullary hematopoiesis is finding out in the kidneys as well as adrenals. We present a 50 year old man, who was admitted in the Urology Department with symptoms of renal colic.

Management and diagnosis of Nutcracker syndrome-a case report.

Nutcracker syndrome (NCS), also known as left renal vein (LRV) entrapment syndrome is a condition that leads to stenosis of the aorto-mesenteric region of the LRV, with dilatation of the distal portion of the vessel. A 43-year-old woman was admitted to the Urology department with symptoms of intermittent painless hematuria and mild to moderate left lumbar pain for the last three months. The patient underwent cystoscopy under general anesthesia.

Management of Leydig cell tumors of the testis-a case report.

We report 1 case of Benign Leydig cell tumor. A 45-year-old male was admitted to the Urology department with a large painless mass in the right testis of 1 year duration. The patient underwent radical high right orchiectomy, with a preliminary diagnosis of right testicular tumor.

Recent advances in biomaterials for 3D scaffolds: A review.

Considering the advantages and disadvantages of biomaterials used for the production of 3D scaffolds for tissue engineering, new strategies for designing advanced functional biomimetic structures have been reviewed. We offer a comprehensive summary of recent trends in development of single- (metal, ceramics and polymers), composite-type and cell-laden scaffolds that in addition to mechanical support, promote simultaneous tissue growth, and deliver different molecules (growth factors, cytokines, bioactive ions, genes, drugs, antibiotics, etc.) or cells with therapeutic or facilitating regeneration effect.
