This work illustrates a physico-chemical study of the structural, dynamic, and transport properties of electrolytes made of LiTFSI solutions in sulphoxide and sulphone solvent mixtures. Experimental measurements, by Raman and NMR spectroscopies, as well as electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, reveal the formation of a variety of ionic aggregates depending on the solvent composition that significantly affect the ion mobility and conductivity of the electrolyte. Mixtures containing tetrahydrothiophene-1-oxide exhibit a larger ion mobility due to a rapid exchange mechanism between solvent molecules, whereas the use of tetramethylene sulphone favors the formation of ionic aggregates due to the strong dipolar interactions between solvent molecules.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by differences in social communication and repetitive behaviors, often associated with atypical visual attention patterns. In this paper, the Gaze-Based Autism Classifier (GBAC) is proposed, which is a Deep Neural Network model that leverages both data distillation and data attribution techniques to enhance ASD classification accuracy and explainability. Using data sampled by eye tracking sensors, the model identifies unique gaze behaviors linked to ASD and applies an explainability technique called TracIn for data attribution by computing self-influence scores to filter out noisy or anomalous training samples.

The impact of smoking in arthroscopic surgery for femoroacetabolar impingement (FAI) is controversial. This systematic review updates and discusses current evidence on the influence of cigarette smoking on the outcome of arthroscopic management of FAI. The outcomes of interest were to compare patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) and complications.

Animals within social groups respond to costs and benefits of sociality by adjusting the proportion of time they spend in close proximity to other individuals in the group (cohesion). Variation in cohesion between individuals, in turn, shapes important group-level processes such as subgroup formation and fission-fusion dynamics. Although critical to animal sociality, a comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing cohesion remains a gap in our knowledge of cooperative behavior in animals.

However, PH is difficult to diagnose early since accompanying symptoms overlap and are similar to those of the underlying CLD. In most cases the PH is mild to moderate and therefore physical signs may be absent or subtle.

We are used to measuring temperature with a thermometer, and we know from everyday life that different types of thermometers measure the same temperature. This experience can be based on equilibrium thermodynamics, which explains the equivalence of different possibilities to define temperature. In contrast, for systems out of equilibrium such as active matter, measurements performed with different thermometers can generally lead to different temperature values.

Patients with acute pulmonary embolism (PE) have a wide spectrum of clinical presentations, from incidental findings to sudden cardiac death. Management and treatment recommendations in currently available guidelines vary according to patient risk and haemodynamic profile. A clot-in-transit (CiT) in the right heart chambers may be occasionally identified and is, therefore, an under-recognised but challenging condition, often preceding an abrupt clinical deterioration, and associated with increased mortality.

The widely utilized Global Positioning System (GPS) plays a crucial role in everyday navigation. The literature has predominantly focused on GPS use for reaching destinations rather than exploring its various strategic applications and relations with individual factors. The current paper is intended to develop a GPS Uses Scale assessing a variety of GPS uses for wayfinding and other GPS uses (Study 1).

Skin cancers affecting the concha and antihelix are quite common, because of anterior auricular projection from the head and subsequent actinic exposure, leading to the need for effective ear reconstruction post-surgery. Various methods such as skin grafts, free tissue transplantation, and local flaps have been used. This study introduces a refined technique for concha-antihelix defect reconstruction, based on a minimally invasive modification of the revolving-door flap procedure.

: Low back pain is common. For patients with mechanic or non-specific chronic LBP (cLBP), the current guidelines suggest conservative, nonpharmacologic treatment as a first-line treatment. Among the available strategies, physiotherapy represents a common option offered to patients presenting with cLBP.

In this narrative review we describe the main optical coherence tomography biomarkers appearing in eyes with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD) that do not directly correspond to exudation. We highlight those signs that may mimic exudation and therefore do not require active treatment, such as outer retinal tubulations, pseudocysts, lipid globules, or hyporeflective wedges. Other signs may indicate impending exudation such as hyperreflective foci or shallow irregular retinal pigment epithelium elevation, and therefore should be carefully monitored.

Friction is central to the motion of active (self-propelled) objects such as bacteria, animals, and robots. While in a viscous fluid friction is described by Stokes's law, objects in contact with other solid bodies are often governed by more complex empirical friction laws. Here, we study active particles subject to Coulomb friction using a combination of active granular experiments and simulations, supported by theoretical predictions.

Background: According to the literature, about one third of patients with brain ischemic symptoms lasting <24 h, which are classified as Transient ischemic attacks (TIAs) according to the traditional "time-based" definition, show the presence of acute ischemic lesions at neuroimaging. Recent evidence has shown that the presence of acute ischemic lesions at neuroimaging may impact on the outcome of patients with transient ischemic symptoms treated with dual antiplatelet treatment (DAPT). This uncertainty is even more compelling in recent years as short-term DAPT has become the standard treatment for any non-cardioembolic TIA or minor ischemic stroke.

Introduction: Internal fixation in not-comminuted oblique and transverse olecranon fractures is commonly performed with tension band wiring. However, despite its high healing rate, this technique is associated with a high rate of complications, often requiring the removal of fixation devices in up to 80 % of cases. The aim of our study was to describe a surgical technique using eyelet pins that maintains the effectiveness of the classic tension band wiring while reducing intolerance or displacement of the fixation devices.

This study investigates the efficiency of green bonds as a financial instrument for promoting renewable energy production, with a specific focus on their performance during the Covid-19 pandemic. Using a sample of 55 countries from 2014 to 2022 and employing the Fully Modified Ordinary Least Squares (FMOLS) model to address non-stationarity and cointegration of variables, we find that green bond issuance positively impacts overall renewable energy generation. However, when examining specific sources of green energy, we observe that wind energy benefits the most from green bond financing, while estimates show only marginal significance for hydro energy and no significance for solar energy.
